ChExtra 330L Flight
Finally dialing in the no name Extra. Added a hatch for the battery and moved the rudder servo from exposed on the side to inside the fuselage. I tweaked the wings even more and the stall is much more manageable. Really is becoming a favorite plane to fly.

Not the most exciting flight. Testing another phone/camera setup. I was aimed a bit high and forgot to set it to 4k. Need to sort out a better way to aim it. Taking the hat off and checking each time is a bit unreliable. Also I said SunnySky in the video. I meant Turnigy SK3 4240 620kv

Second ever flight of the Eflite RJG Decathlon. First flight was on 3s and this was the first time using a 4s2200. Overall it flies nice. But inverted performance is seriously lacking because of the flat bottom wing they chose to use. Little bit of a let down. That is one of my favorite things about a true Decathlon with a semi symmetrical wing is inverted performance.

      @LilSkiRC หลายเดือนก่อน

      I didn't use full span ailerons or the flaps in this video but I have shown them in previous videos. The roll rate is pretty intense full wing mode and the flaps work really well. I went over V1 in detail in a previous video and this is pretty much the same. It's just 56" instead of 54" and 6.5oz lighter than V1. Wing area is around 540 sq.in. Flying weight is around 4lb which gives you 17 oz/sq.ft. Wing Cube Loading is around 8.8. Runs on a 4s3700 pack in this video with a SunnySky x3 3120 760kv motor, 12x8 prop, 80A ESC. I didn't design it around 3D flight but it can do some stuff. It's meant to be a sport plane.

    The tried and true Clark Y flat bottom airfoil generates a good amount of lift, from the top. Its main purpose being to be efficient, not really aerobatic especially in negative G. The reason the SIG Kadet is a good trainer is because of the flat bottom airfoil. Ailerons are not as effective as rudder and the original Kadet I learned to fly on in 1976 didn’t have ailerons. I find the semi symmetrical on high wing is the best choice for scale flight and aerobatics. One of the reasons the Citabria was good for aerobatics is they shifted the CG aft to make it snap and spin easier. Great videos. I really enjoy them

    -- I watch this video again, this airplane nails "Avalanches" like nobody's business. Very nice. To a point, feels like most of modern pilots nowdays, don't even know how to Snap Roll - at all... This Aeromaster just excels at it.

    • @LilSkiRC
      @LilSkiRC 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I tend to fly more "scale" and "traditional" aerobatics. I did the 3D thing years ago and got over it. The avalanche is something I have been working on in general lately. I tend to do the snap a bit late so I'm working on the timing. Planes like this and the Decathlon are fun to do them with. Lots of the modern mono wing aerobats do very quick and tight snaps. I personally like a big flared out snap. I like the challenge of a big and sometimes slow snap, and ending it cleanly.

    • @LilSkiRC
      @LilSkiRC 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Don't know if I mentioned it but 15x10 is the prop that is on it. I have started to push more kv on some planes. The Decathlon 40 runs 560kv and is a bit of a screamer. I'm pretty happy how the Skybolt flies. Much more power than the old .61 and I'm sure that old air frame enjoys less vibration.
