  • In this multi-part series, I discuss how Twin Peaks: The Return can be understood as a warning of the illness that plagues the modern soul and how it hints at the possibility of redemption.
The Return includes symbolic imagery and themes that resonate with esoteric mythology and teachings found within various ancient philosophical traditions, religions, mystery cults, and magical beliefs as well as the mystic explorations of depth psychologist C.G. Jung.
This video touches on these subjects:
    Egyptian Religion
    Ma'at
    The Duat
    Tibetan Esoteric Religion
The Bardo Thodol (aka Tibetan Book of the Dead)
    Ancient Greek Mystery cults
    Hieros Gamos (The Sacred Marriage)
    Alchemy
    Sophia
    Hinduism
    Satcitananda
    Anima Mundi
    Feminine Principle
    Divine Feminine
    Esoteric Jungian studies
    Realm of Hungry Ghosts
    Gnostic Belief systems
    Ram Dass
    C.G. Jung
    Marie-Louise von Franz
    Barbara Hannah
    Peter Kingsley
    Manly P. Hall
    Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
    Ramana Maharshi
    David Lynch's practice

00:10 some Ancient Greek underworld traditions guided initiates about a choice they’d have to make, a choice to drink from one of two water sources, one of existential forgetfulness and one of Truthful knowledge
38:10 👀 Henry Corbin writes in Alone with the Alone about Ibn Arabi’s mystical experience: “Sophia, emerging from the night, murmured in the ear of the
pensive pilgrim [Ibn Arabi] circumambulating the Karaba : "Can it be that
you yourself are already dead ?" Pg.96
30:08 one of the few pieces of art on Gordon Cole/Lynch’s wall is a black and white image of corn. Another allusion to Demeter.

I just want to say thank you for this series of videos. This has been the single greatest dissection of the ideas in Twin Peaks that I have ever seen, (and I've seen a lot.) So much that you go over in these videos I knew and felt on a subconscious level during my watchings and yet was unable to quite put them into words. Phenomenal work and research. Well done.

I just finished watching twin peaks for the 4th time, decided to watch the explanation (no actually) and felt he put concepts I felt about the show into words perfectly.
It feels like that video is the Lynch take and yours is more Mark Frosts side (I hope this makes sense) and I can now perfectly see how this show embodies and blends all of these amazing concepts and ideas.
I will say I resonate with this one much more and it put into words what I wish I could when I’d talk about what twin peaks means to me lol
I’ve loved watching all your videos on this, you did a great job! ❤

Beautiful work start to finish; calm, coherent, cohesive, unforced. I think you are humbly grasping the major ‘golden threads’ this show is offering us, and by sharing it you do the audience a great service as well. I also have often felt that pressure in my forehead while meditating so that anecdote at the end was wonderful to hear. Cheers 💙🕯️

Great vid! Lots to think about.
"Fix your heart or die" as Gordon said.
Parts of it made me think of "Jacob's Ladder" and the chiropractor 's speech about Meister Eckhardt.
I'm wondering, in the original series, Hawk says "... Faraway places, the land of the dead" and in the Return, the Giant says "you are Faraway" . I know that could be taken as "you don't understand" to Cooper but it's an interesting connection I think.

These videos hit the spot, I started my own spiritual journey not long after first watching Twin Peaks some time around 2018-2019. I had no idea what i had watched but in the undercroft of my being something woke up. I have since found myself on a journey i did not know i had embarked upon. I have since started looking into anything esoteric, along with other avenues of interest. Its not to say the other channels who have said their bit on the show are not true, like you mention there are many ways to see the totality of the show. But the way you broke the show down and delved into alot of the various esoteric themes for me, are most definitely what the show is based upon. Really great listen, found myself watching some of the vids twice in a row, good job and good vibes to you!

I feel that the moment when Cooper snaps out of his trance to deftly disarm Ike the Spike using his training was another moment in which a balanced, mindful application of Yang energy was appropriate. It saved Janey-E and potentially onlookers from overpenetration or stray fire.
The training that allowed him to do that was meticulously drilled in during his investment in the status quo, to the point where the very complex series of movements required to disarm an attacker was performed as one quick muscle memory reaction. Seeing the same stimuli in the gun-toting Ike that he likely saw in training and in the field, it triggered an unconscious reaction along that well-practiced neural pathway in his mind.

I think the season 3 end credit is very unique, it might feel like a message, simply say “listen to your inner voice” “if sometimes you are confused like Cooper in the end, then just listen carefully”, btw great series really open my mind
