its called body/self acceptance, it deals with other things then just weight. They're telling people that you don't have to feel ashamed with how you look. Too many times people are put down or feel put down because they don't fit society's standards. The acceptance thing is to help others not feel alone and those to understand that they shouldn't feel that way about themselves.
vegetarian doesn't mean you're healthy, you can still eat sweets, i was a vegetarian for 3 years and gained so much weight so i just decided to go vegan with no sweets
When I was a sophomore in high school, I was walking home from school and these kids, who I knew went to the same school for me, passed me in their car, yelled some stupid, half-baked insult, and threw an opened gallon of water at me. Didn't notice until it was too late. Walked home absolutely drenched. Embarrassing. Three years later, I'm studying Mechanical Engineering at a top ranked university and I saw two of those guys get arrested for drug distribution. Life's good.
#1 One Piece Fan Those boys attacked him for being overweight. You're so annoying tbh. You're commenting everything and every comment that came from u is just u telling ppl who find one girl of this video hot how "unhealthy" it is to be overweight.Like,no shit dude.Duh. And oh man,one girl pointed out how overweight ppl get different/most mean reactions for doing the same thing as an average person, and you went crazy, telling her she was skinny shaming etc.Who attacked you babe? Have a nice day.
I'm not obese fat but I'm still fat. It's very annoying when I'm told, "You're not fat." "You're beautiful just the way you are." It get tired of this cause they only see the illusion. Yes I can hide it somewhat well but I know that I'm fat and I'm very insecure about it. It's also annoying when people say, "Why don't you try exercising?" Like I have! It's not as easy as it sounds. I can lose weight but I can't get of some fat completely and it's so frustrating
Sanjita Kalakheti lmao this is so relatable like I’m so fat and the only exercise I get is waddling over to the fridge to get more cake so I just end up putting on more weight 😂
Samantha T Lol, same, although occasionally you'll see a doctor other than one you've already known for the first time and they'll focus on that for the whole session.
Because people in school don't have boundaries to what is considered "inappropriate" So of course their going to shove insults about your weight down your throat, if you didn't like it, you should of lost weight...Their nothing shocking about it.
AJ Forrester Well, yeah true, but at the same time it's not hard to forget about that time somebody called you chubby at recess. If people take offense to a joke about their weight in school, deal with it and ignore it, if they keep doing it, knock 'em out. Simple.
I talk to overweight people the same way I talk to anyone else--I don't ask about their diet or exercise habits, I don't give them weight-loss advice, I mind my own business.
Of course I talk to them normally lol but I have this bad habit of complaining about my own self and I'm underweight yet still find myself fat plus two of the people I spend the most time with are overweight so... Yeah they kinda wanna kill me. It looks like I'm indirectly asking them to lose weight by saying I'm fat when I'm just talking about my own troubled self (but we do talk about diets a lot as I'm really informed about the subject & they want to lose weight to avoid health problems).
When you're overweight and exercising to lose the weight and someone walks/drives pass and yells "fatty" or "fat fuck" etc that's when I feel like it's definitely uncalled for, like dude why do you think I'm in my workout gear and running 5k? I don't run for fun.
W_rk bullies always make excuses. "We're bullying you to be help you" is the most tired cliche of them all. You're not bullying people to help them lose weight, and bullying people does not help them lose weight.
The easy response to "FAT!" is "RUDE!", and the one comment, imagine how good you'd look if you lost weight. "Imagine how nice you'd be if you'd keep that to yourself. In the morning, I can diet, but you just need to keep your mouth shut. It's so much easier to keep that to yourself than go on a massive diet, and since you're already this rude, I think your personality makes my body look beautiful in comparison."
"Should you be wearing that? " "I hear that all the time, " "Do you? " "Yes, but it's nothing to do with being fat…" 😂🤣😅🤣😂 And then, "You'd be really handsome if you lost some weight, " "I don't think the world is ready for that, " 😅😂😂😅🤣❤️
Too fat to be a model. People like you need to quit lying to these poor obese ass women. They actually convincing themselves that it’s okay to be obese these days. This shits harmful. It’s unattractive. Why pretend otherwise?
Emily Mintern Yes!!! I have to eat gluten and dairy free and people always assume that then I must be super healthy, but in reality I still eat like crap lol
There was a really large boy I remember seeing at the town pool just about every day of the summer when I was a child. I always tried not the stare but I honestly admired his courage for going out and working out at the pool every day and being determined to lose the weight even if it risked people's staring and whispering about how big he was. I still see him around town every once in a while and he has lost so much weight he looked like he used to be pushing 400 lbs and now he looks around 200 or 250 he's definitely not a skinny guy but I still give him so much credit for all the progress he made over the years.
As a fat person who goes to the pool to Aqua jog every day, I’ve lost around 100 pounds and sometimes wondered if people were laughing, mocking or thinking badly of me. A swimming coach that was there teaching little kids commented on how well I was doing and it did make me feel great. I think it would just depend on how you said it.
Umm no. Everyone seems to think it's perfectly fine and healthy to carry around a bunch of disfiguring lard under their skin. I don't understand what's wrong with people. It's disgusting. Excess body fat is actually my #1 turn-off with most of the population's women.
+Network126 My original post had nothing to do with health. A girl can be unhealthy wether they're too big or anorexic. A girl could also be an alcoholic or a smoker but for years, you wouldn't even be able to notice until they start aging. My point is, even if you don't make healthy choices you can still look beautiful. That's no excuse to enable yourself but hating yourself will only push you further into your bad habits. Coming from someone who lost over 100lbs, shaming from people like you did nothing but make me feel worse than I already did. It made me feel like I wasn't even worth the effort. It was deciding to love myself regardless of my size that actually pushed me to lose the weight. It's cool to have your own preference of beauty, everyone does however you have no right to put others down for their struggles until you yourself are perfect.
"Imagine how good looking you'd be if you lost weight" " I don't think the world is ready for that" honestly that's the type of energy I'm gonna have from now on oh my God I love it and genuinely over all in the video the guy that said has been constantly funny lol I love him omg
The only one who didn't try to pretend him being fat doesn't also make him less attractive. "Beauty is on the inside" yes that too. But on the outside as well lol
I hate when some one say they do not like the word fat. Trust me, fat is fat. Excess stuff your body stores for long term energy supply. The word Fat isn't a bad word.
It is a bad word, because it is a sign of major health problems that will probably kill them. It isn't "long term energy supply" a fat person cannot live off of there own body fat, they will always need food for energy and they will always have access to food in western society's, fat is actually a symptom of future health problems such as cancer, diabetes and heart disease.
bucket foot5 some people are born fat...and that's what makes them healthy... some people are really healthy but fat... I have plenty of overweight friends who are strict vegetarians and never smoke or drink and exercise twice a week and they love their bodies for their bodies and they're as healthy as they could be... so no. that's not true.
I agree, it's not a bad word. Most people have a layer of fat, along with muscles, bones and skin which protect the abdominal organs. Having fat is natural, it's the amount of fat that can affect people's health and wellbeing.
Some people are sensitive to the word and get offended easily by it. People are born with fat, but it isnt good to have unhealthy fat. But people are struggling with losing that fat that isnt good for them, and there getting teased for it. Its not right to label somone as fat if they don't like because they're struggling.
Umm no. Everyone seems to think it's perfectly fine and healthy to carry around a bunch of disfiguring lard under their skin. I don't understand what's wrong with people. It's disgusting. Excess body fat is actually my #1 turn-off with most of the population's women.
i will admit, i am fat. i have never felt good in my clothes or my own skin, a few days ago i got some really nice clothes that fit my curves and lumps and bumps and i feel so confident now! sometimes its not about loosing weight so you can fit in that perfect dress, other times it can just be about finding clothes that make you confident while you are on your journey to a healthy, happy life!
Murzynka Zgwałcenie Geez you really suck, and no, I'm not fat. But I just think it was soo unneeded to write this comment under some1 who is finally confident on her own skin :/
DictatorialAura you are lazy if your fat.If your fat that means you don't care about yourself and won't try to change yourself except for some who actually take the effort to change.Thats why I hate this shit fat acceptance is not ok it's not healthy
Not necessarily. You're supposed to think fat people are lazy so you'll constantly spend money on magical weight loss supplements and such. You blame it one willpower and laziness so you have a quantifiable reason why people are fat. God forbid you see real people with real struggles doing the best they can, most of them just like you. It may surprise you to know that most fat people care a lot about their bodies. They also hold down jobs, raise children, pay their bills, eat (normal) meals, and generally lead normal lives. Fat is okay. Not always healthy, but you can have perfectly health vital stats and still be fat. You can (figuratively) work your ass off and still be fat. It's not as simple for everyone as you've been lead to believe, and fat people are not bad people. They're just people. Any unhappiness that comes from being fat is generated by society and from people like you who choose to judge in the name of health. We don't need your help. You're not our savior. Fat is okay.
I don't body shame but I HATE it when someone is overweight & they see someone else who is just as overweight & they go "omg look that person is huge!" 😒
my mom does that when she sees another fat person in the store or something and she goes, "Am I that big?" it annoys me a bit bc she does it ALL the time
The cat named Lotion my mother in law (which I don't like btw) she was slim when the first time I moved in when me and my husband were just boyfriend and girlfriend. When we moved out and she lived on her own she never cooked . She always ate take out everyday . So now she's about 248 pounds and she's short. About 5 feet . What gets me mad is when she fat shame my husband but yet she looks like a sack of potatoes. 😑
The cat named Lotion deep down your mom probably feels that she is fat but she wants to see if you also agree . Just tell your mom no mom you are beautiful ask me if you are look big one more time 👊🏼 jk.
This is a huge huge problem amongst some fat people. I’m fat myself, I’ve had friends of all different shapes & sizes.. & lawd, the stories I could share! I’ve literally had friends who, compared to my 5’9” UK size 24 body are really petite, turn around to me on nights out or while out shopping ‘oh my god! Look at the size of him/her, you aren’t that big, don’t worry!’ Sorry WHAT?! (Needless to say we are no longer ‘friends’!) Equally I’ve had friends who are plus size like me degrade other plus size / fat people (both men & women). It’s a way of making themselves feel better about themselves, even just for a few minutes. It gives the rest of us ‘fatties’ a really bad reputation. I do not degrade anyone regardless of size, shape, colour, race, what they wear, their style.. what’s the point?! I don’t even see any of that when I look at a person. I look at their bright smile & friendly eyes. Unfortunately I get too many degrading comments to meet friendly people these days. It’s stopped me leaving the house. Someone has always got to make snide remarks. I even had hot coffee thrown over me after a night out when I was 18 once with friends by men in their 30’s ‘because I was fat’. The world can’t seem to wrap their heads around the fact that we’re all human regardless of our outter exterior. I’m sorry your partner has to endure that shit from his mother, I was bullied horribly for years by both my parents, they truly believed by making nasty remarks it would trigger me into huge dieting fads. It did, but it had such negative consequences I’m suffering now I’m older. I’m not sure if you still live with her but by the sounds of it, the sooner you two are out the better. And don’t be afraid to confront her like I did with my mother, after a blazing row she finally realised how hurtful she’d been & how much damage she’d caused from her comments. All the best. And I promise.. everyone can be cruel, regardless of size.. it’s likely your partners mum is just so unhappy as she is, she feels belittling others will make them as equally unhappy as her. X
Ami exactly and then there’s my mom when I show her a cute outfit and then she says yeah that’s nice and once you lose some weight it’ll look better on you 🤦🏾♀️ I keep telling her that I hate talking about my weight but she just doesn’t get it
@@aghasearmyshawolblinkonce8039 Respond with, "yeah it's nice and it'll already look good on me". Your Mum has had people talk to her like that growing up.
And talk too much about that.. I'm what is considered 'normal' weight but everytime I lose or gain just a little bit of weight there are so many people commenting. I guess those people are just not happy with their own weight
I used to be fat, and lost a lot of weight, but not really in a healthy nice way (mainly because of my depression) People that I haven't seen in a while comment on my weight and say things like "oooo you look so good now!! Well done, good for you, etc" And to be honest, sometimes that bothers me a little. I felt fine the way I was then, and I love the way I look now, but it's not some amazing accomplishment and you don't know the story behind it...
Same with me. I lost a lot of weight due to depression. Whenever I see someone I haven't seen in a while, the first thing they talk about is how much weight I've lost. And they're really excited about it too, as if it was a massive accomplishment, as if they've been waiting for me to lose weight for so long and I've finally done it! It bothers me how much attention people pay to the way someone looks.
Canola Cowbelly you "may" become depressed? Ok, so how about we all lighten the fuck up? The real idiots are people who can't handle anything "dramatic" or "emotional" So they call themselves depressed and beg people to feel bad for them. If you actually had depression you wouldn't blame it on your weight? Now wouldn't you?
Its because most people who are fat are in denial of there problems, even some of the people in this video say that they are still healthy the one girl said because she did not smoke therefor she asked everyone "how can I be anymore healthy". They are in denial and they will not help themselves until videos like this stop being made and compassionate videos that actually address the obesity epidemic get made.
bucket foot5 I can see where you are coming from I suppose but I would love to see studies made that compare smokers and non smokers that are both "healthy weight" and fatter people to see which is really more unhealthy. I try not to judge or tell people how to live. While I was growing up most of my "encouragement" for losing weight was so I could be attractive not healthy, we must show kids today that being healthy is more important than being attractive. Being skinny doesn't magically make you beautiful and being fat doesn't always mean your unhealthy.
Bucket Foot, let me ask you a question... is it really an "epidemic" when it literally is not affecting your personal life? Like can you catch the "fat"? Is it contagious? Are you afraid that if a fat person touches you that you'll suddenly become the blob? Lol
I get bullied at school for being fat ALL THE TIME. Once at lunch I got a salad, not only because I was on a diet, but I just wanted to eat a freaking salad. I went pass some guys in the cafeteria and this is what I heard: “I see you’re trying to lose weight but it’s clearly not working” “It doesn’t matter how hard you try to be beautiful it will never happen” “Awwww, eating again? Why don’t you just starve yourself to death then we will all be happy” “Oh guys, the whale is back again eating” Yes, those are actual comments said to me. Every single one of them was followed by laughter. I pretend not to care, but it just freaking hurts man.
Vicky Loves TH-cam I know shit like that hurts , but people who say stuff like that are probably the insecure ones who feel the need to make those comments. When something out of their control like male pattern baldness or something shows up , I hope they get no sympathy or compassion
And if ugly people (yes your personslities are ugly, when you say that to a fat person) minded their own blody business instead. Were you raised to bully others? Get of your high horse. You dont know the person, their mental state og physical health issues. You see a fat person and think it's okay to tell that person off, throwing insults. Someone wasn't raised right then. No need to bully or bodyshame at all. Don't like, then don't look and mind your own business.
Qana Luella, don't like don't look? They're so fuckin massive you can hardly avoid making eye contact with them, they take up all the fuckin space you moron
T0pMan15 not a moron. And even if that statement is true, still dosen't give you the right to talk nasty to them. Do you like if strangers come up to you or talk behind your back, throwing onsults and tell you how to love your life.
Fox Comm Actually, Buzzfeed would make a video about how beautiful and perfect and amazing and cute fat people are. These people here on bbc3 are just realistic.
So true. I recently watched at least two videos where clearly morbidly obese women were made to wear plus size clothing and recreating famous model photos. :/ Wasn't that great.
where is the buzzfeed video where they go on about how perfect and amazing fat people are? I think a lot of people get confused between fat positivity (to counteract the immense fat negativity) and saying that fat people are better and cuter than anyone else. No one is saying that, but plenty of people are saying fat people are disgusting and unloveable. They deserve to feel good about themselves, in the same way telling a smoker theyre disgusting and unloveable isnt cool, but saying smokers are better than non-smokers isnt cool either.
"You're not fat, you're thick" "Don't wear that, it'll make you look even bigger" "Oh my god, you can eat all that?" "If you lost 10 pounds you'd have a great body." All things said to me in the past year by my mother. I'm 5'6 and a US size 14 with a very dramatic hourglass shape.
Meeki Beeks yeah my Mum has said insulting things about my weight too usually if she's angry at me. The thing is she is over weight too but I would dream of insulting her about her weight or anything.
Just imagine someone walking up to you and say "ah yes you'll be perfect for our fat people questions video" I would be insulted like how did they do that shit
I would love to do that? I don't get why this would be insulting. Especially if I were in England because I think as an American I have a cultural difference. Like some of these people I'm looking at them and I'm not saying "You're not fat" as a way to say "You're not ugly". It's because in my culture they /genuinely/ wouldn't be considered "fat". The beauty standard is different. Like the guy with the curly hair in the black shirt... would not even probably be considered an /average/ weight in my particular part of the states. I was so confused to see him. Like "obese" is a medical term but "fat" is just a cultural thing. What I'm saying is that most fat people aren't insulted by being called fat or being asked to talk about fatphobia. That's why the body positivity movement is a thing. That's not to say that there aren't people with internalized body images. But in a lot of places there is an active body positivity movement, where people are very open to talking about these issues, so it's pretty safe to assume that if it's asked politely they aren't going to be insulted. If you're fat, being told that you aren't is FAR more insulting than being told that you are. I can say that in my experience, I am medically obese. I once lost a great deal of weight because my father had a heart attack and I got scared. The entire time I was trying to lose weight, people would hit me with the, "Why are you trying to lose weight? You're not fat." THAT is insulting. It's having every concern you've ever had dismissed as pure vanity. On the other hand, if someone approached you and respectfully asked, "We're trying to make a video about body positivity, would you be willing to come on and talk about fatphobia that you've experienced?" That's... I don't understand how you could be insulted about that unless you were so far in denial and you had so much internalized fatphobia that you, yourself were part of the problem that videos like this are trying to fix. I feel like that kind of reaction might be the REASON we need to see more stuff like this. My weight loss journey, btw, not that anyone asked ended poorly. I didn't get any healthier. My cholesterol didn't go down, my blood pressure was already dangerously low, and I actually HURT myself because my blood pressure bottomed out a couple of times. Sometimes weight just isn't linked to health, and that's the kind of thing that I now know one should REALLY consult with their doctors and nutritionists and such over, not something you should just take upon yourself. There's a cultural misconception about body weight caused by the beauty standard that can be super dangerous.
Me: *wearing loose clothing* Dad: c'mon you should wear clothes that fit better, you have a beautiful figure underneath that shirt Me: *wears my size clothes * Dad: don't you think thats a bit small on you ? Should you be wearing that?
Ance Freimane Oh no My dad always stares at girls behinds (yes the butt) and he even looks at my older sister and younger sisters. Even mine at times when I catch him.
@@cookiesandbisexualqueen9760 I can relate, I have an older sis and my dad always said this To her and About her like, oh she has a woman's body wow, look at those curves and shit like that but those are things people usually write down as a father being proud but it's discosting, I am Very protective of my big sis and my dad has started to lothe me and shame me just becouse I always stop him from saying shit that is creepy just so I could protect my sister, only one more year and I'm outta here and my sister is leaving too
@@cookiesandbisexualqueen9760 I've started to really choose what I wear just becouse my dad always has something negative to say about anything. It's getting worse and worse, but I will take it in just so my sister could stay the person she is, she has been tru enough u know😐💜
I've gotten bullied in school since I was eight for being "fat" or overweight. What some people don't know is that I started gaining weight because I had a lot of family problems and I'm the type of person that turns to food for comfort, so I started eating so much which obviously made me gain weight. Being bullied in school because of my weight gain only made eat more food and didn't exactly make me feel that great about myself or the way I look. People shouldn't get bullied for the way they look. No one ever knows what's going on in someones home life which may cause that person to gain weight in the first place. Edit 9/12/2020: Just going to address something here in the comments. The point of my post wasn’t too “make excuses” or “gain sympathy”. I’m guessing you guys don’t know what addiction to food (or BED is). Just like people who are anorexic don’t eat, I was the complete opposite. The fact that I ate for comfort eventually turned into a disorder. Don’t assume to know anything about me or my life based on a few sentences that I wrote. Keep your nasty comments, that by the way don’t help to yourself and have a great day ❤️
Yeah in 3rd grade I started getting bullied for being bigger and it just made me eat more. I gained 50 pounds in a year because of it and have developed social anxiety. I’m trying to loose weight but I’ve relied on food for so long it’s kind of hard to break the habit
Paige W the fact That your so called "fat" doesnt change by the Way you say it... Ok, i feel bad for you about the family thingy and That’s pretty natural to be but it doesnt change the fact that your fat.
It depends how fat you are and what your family history is. Being morbidly obese is much more dangerous than smoking, but just being overweight will probably be less dangerous depending on your genetic make up.
Depends on how fat you are, your age, how much you smoke etc. Both smoking and obesity are the two unhealthiest lifestyles though, as far as death tolls are concerned
richard f do your research. Obese people are more at risk of diseases, but not every fat person falls on the obesity bracket. Where you accumulate fat will say if you are at a high risk of diseases like diabetes, hypertension, etc. People that have a lot of visceral fat (internal belly fat) have a higher risk of numerous diseases. However, people with fat in their thighs and hips, aren’t. How much fat someone has also determines the risks. There are many factors that determine how healthy a fat person is, and how their weight affects their health. Smoking, however, is highly toxic, and a direct cause (alone) of many, many health problems. It is the number one cause of preventable death in United States. It can cause so many problems that even insurance companies ask when you apply for them. Almost every part of your body has an increase risk of cancer if you smoke. You have a higher risk of blood clots, strokes, heart attacks, COPD, pulmonary infections, ectopic pregnancies, diabetes, and the list goes on. You can google it. The CDC has a picture pointing out the parts of your body that can be affected by smoking, pretty much all major organs are pointed, including kidneys. They have a lot of info there. Smoking is easily preventable, obesity is more complex.
I’m 5 10 210 lbs and proportionate. I’m not fat, I’m literally big boned. I’m tall and thick but in a good way. And no I’m not making my self ugly, I’m constantly catcalled. In fact most people prefer curvy girls to slim ones with no ass or hips so I’m happy with my weight. Maybe others see me as fat but I know that I’m desirable
"Imagine how good-looking you'd be if you lost a bit of weight" "I don't think the world is ready for that" lmaooo he's already pretty good looking tbh
My sister is obese and I do worry about her. But it's truly about her health. I don't give a damn what she looks like. What I get scared about is that she's on a CPAP machine early in her life, and all of her other obese friends are, too, and they make a joke of it. It's not a joke. She eats like shit, never ever exercises and I mean, even just walking, AND she smokes. We try to go on hikes with friends and she has to turn back after we've just started. I'm afraid it's going to get to the point where she's going to get older and older and work on her bones and joints so much that it'll be too late. Yes, people of any size can have health problems. But obesity not only creates its own problems, but it makes others even worse. People on the streets yelling mean things at her or judging her at the grocery store don't care about her health. They just want to be cruel. But when a doctor tells you that you have to lose weight, eat better and exercise, it's because being overweight is bad for your health. This is not a made-up diagnosis to hurt people. Obesity is a struggle and it is very hard to overcome, especially because in a lot of cases, it involves depression and food addictions. So be gentle with people who are obese. Treat them with respect.
TheBookWorm1718 oh, for sure she's unhappy. She's really good at fooling other people by always being the jokester (she is the funniest person I've ever met) but I'm her sister and I know her better than anyone in the world. She's 32 now but has been obese since she was 19. I was always the one who ate more, but as soon as she got pregnant with her 1st son, she just began to overeat and never stopped. She has had so much pain in her life. We both grew up with a verbally and psychologically abusive dad who has since changed his ways. Then we both went through a series of terrible relationships, but she had a kid to worry about on top of that. She had a fiance who cheated on her and dumped her. He said all she does is sit around getting fatter. It broke my heart because there is no reason to be cruel. He is the father of her 2nd who is almost 5 now. Her house is disgusting. And I don't mean messy. I mean it is FILTHY. I want to help her but she's so sensitive when anyone brings anything up about her lifestyle. I have my own problems as well. I'm in recovery from addiction. So we all have our own problems. I just wish she were at least open to change. I wish she wouldn't balk at exercise. I wish she would spend the time to prepare healthy meals for her and the kids. She's embracing her current body because I think it's easier for her to do that than to try and make a change. I don't know. I just really worry.
Unicorn Sings thanks, but it's easy to treat anyone with respect if you view the world with compassion and love. She has had such a tough life and we all cope in different ways. Hers just happens to be ignoring her problems, being stagnant, and not eating right.
TheBookWorm1718 interesting...is it a nonfiction book, like self-help or a novel? I'd like to read something like an inspiring memoir or a nonfiction book about these issues.
You have no idea how much I respect and appreciate this comment. Lots of people can’t distinguish between actually caring and just boosting their own egos. It bothers me a lot, so I’d just like to say I’m happy I’m not alone in thinking “fat shaming” is not the only solution.
The annoying thing is having people who say stuff like that to you in your house. I jump rope, because I like to jump rope. And when my parents and my brothers see me jump rope they start going like "Yes! Keep it up!" and I can't eat bread in front of my dad, becase then he will go "should you eat that?" and then I can't even eat it comfortably and he won't let me get out ofb the kitchen without eating it, because he can see I am upset, and I have to contain the anger and the tears, and then he'll joke about it from 2 to 3 days... and that kind of makes me want to curl up in a ball and cry a bit
Yes they could do things "like eat a burger" "how could you fit in that?!?" "You need to gain a couple pounds" " how could you be that out of shape you're so skinny" "you eat alot for a skinny person" "I wish I was that skinny" and so on and so on [btw these are some of the things I've everbeen asked so many times and they are pretty annoying]
Oh Okay not nessesary. I excersized 3-4 times a week over six months, and all I got from it, was an empty wallet, chronic stress and anxiety. And I didn't even lose any weight. And no I don't eat a lot.
Yes!! Last time i was 240 i was in a 3xl shit and wad a lazy fat truck. Now im back to 240 doing muscle workouts in an actual gym (dont go to planet fitness unless you want free candy and pizza) and look way better. People believe my wheight is 180-200 but muscle weights more then fat. It also helps with stress
Adam Holmes there's like no way anyone can wear 18 tonnes of make up. Seriously men like you are the reason that some women end up so insecure. But I'd love to own 18 tonnes of make up with help with my business as a beauty therapist.
I've heard countless stories about people who were fat and hated their appearance, and then lost a ton of weight and still hated their appearance just as much. At some point I realized how much those stories reminded me of people who still weren't happy with their appearance after plastic surgery, and everybody knows how plastic surgery is widely thought of as being a vain, superficial way people use to fix underlying insecurity issues, and that it never really works to resolve said issues. And yet weight loss is pretty universally praised, regardless of whether it actually helped the person feel better about themselves. Makes me wonder who thought of this first and decided to keep quiet because the weight loss industry is so goddamn profitable.
Every fat person would look better if they lost weight. Fat is so disgusting and unhealthy. Excess body fat is my #1 turn-off with most of the population's women.
It's not simply a shallow visual issue... Skinny women don't just LOOK pretty to me - They actually physically feel different to the touch. I actually get to feel the person and appreciate their natural beauty and physical definition. Physical contact with a fat person feels like I'm just hugging an eskimo suit or something... it's such an unnatural feeling. I feel like there's a wall of cold mushy blubber, and it's so disgusting and unhealthy. Instant turn-off. I don't know how people can call that beautiful, or actually think it's healthy.
personally, i think they look more muscular. granted, males tend to have more toned muscles, i guess you can say, even when they're "fat". But, like I said, I, myself, would not consider them "fat" because they look like they are overweight but not necessarily have much fat to them relative to their muscles. hope that made sense. i'm speaking for myself, not for everyone. also, i'm just saying based on how i see them, i.e. based on the upper half of their body.
I used to be morbidly obese and just as defensive as some of these people. It didn't help that everyone made fun of me. But then I lost weight by fixing my diet, and I workout regularly to get stronger. Life is a million percent better now. Best thing is that I'm not weak anymore. Anyone who makes fun of me now gets punched in the face. Lose the weight to gain back your strength, is my mantra. Be the strongest person in any room. 💪😎
Just because you can push weights up and lift Shit doesnt mean your the "strongest" In the sense of fighting but Yea, but respect still cuz of the hard work it takes.
@@henrikgullikstad6318 True enough. However, I'm female, and I'm not interested in weight lifting. I'm working out so that I can drop enough body weight where my joints won't hurt when I start self-defence training. I'm not the strongest person in the room...yet. But I'll get there.
ALL THE TIME, if I'm driving around with my mom, she'll point out fat women and say "Oh my, she should NOT be wearing that. Why on earth would you want to wear tight clothes/show skin with a body like that?" ...it drives me INSANE. Many times I have tried talking to her about how I really don't appreciate hearing that, but then she just starts arguing with me, and she never stops doing it.
+Rach -If the fat people can't hear her, what's the big dealio? You don't need to get offended for other people, live a little and have some fun. IMO, the main benefit of making fun of strangers with your mom is that they can't hear you and it can be a fun bonding experience. It sounds cruel but things like this can help break tension with some levity and nobody really gets hurt by it. -Just a FYI, nobody really likes a prig.
I think this video needs to be condensed down into a single point- fat people, by and large (pun definitely intended), are aware of the condition of their bodies. They don't need you to point that out. For the people who want to change, props to you and all the niceties, but just as many people are comfortable and confident in their figure and that's another quality to admire. When you get right down to it, being fat is their problem to deal with how they see fit. If you feel the need to make it your problem too then chances are you're a shitty person and a massive braying gossip.
Exactly! I'm fat, I'm aware I'm fat, I have been fat my whole life. I'm also working on losing weight and I've been quite successful so far. People tend to forget that losing weight takes time and so when they make the negative comments they don't know if that person is working on losing weight or what the deal is. How about people just shut their mouths and mind their business? Too hard for some, isn't it?
It is a public health problem for many reasons. Health care becomes more expensive and unsustainable the more people smoke and over eat. Health care premiums rise because of obese people so skinny people literally have to pay for the health care of obese people. The more fat people there are on insurance plans the more poor people cannot afford insurance and so poor people with legitimate condition are being denied health care as a result of laziness of obese people. That is why it is a problem for everyone. If everyone is fat and are unfit to serve in the military and a war breaks out were we have to use the draft, fat people will not be eligible for the draft and only skinny healthy people will be forced to protect all of the fat people who cannot help themselves. So we are literally rewarding people for being fat by giving them unfair advantages.
But that was what only one person in the video was saying. The rest of them were all about "You can't tell health from size" and "Everyone worries about their health". If you want to be fat and you don't care about being healthy then that's fine, but don't lie to yourself and others by saying that you're perfectly healthy and that obesity is not directly linked to several health problems. Not only are you creating a danger for yourself, you're creating one for others who might become oblivious to the problems with being obese and will just shout "Stop fat shaming me!" when people are actually concerned that they will die young.
I am a medical professional and I am also overweight and I am also doing something about it (and succeeding mildly). First of all if you are obese - no matter how healthy you eat and how much exercise you get in - you have a bigger risk for all sorts of diseases and medical problems along the way. That is a fact. Weather someone should comment about that is a different subject. You are probably fat and beautiful and fierce and letting the world know, but that doesn't change the fact you are in a greater risk for heart attack, diabetes to name a few. So you might want to do something about it (just a suggestion - totally up to you). Second, being a vegan does not mean you're eating healthy. As well as eating meat doesn't mean you're not. So don't bash people for their choice to eat what they want. You can eat vegetarian and still be eating too much - all of that goes towards those love handles etc. Lastly, and most importantly, no one, NO ONE, should be bullied at school for the way they look or what they weigh. No, wait, NO ONE SHOULD BE BULLIED. PERIOD. If you are - say something, if you're a person seeing/hearing it - say something. It does get better after high school, but it doesn't mean we have to suffer through it. One last thing - don't be mad it will be harsh - you weren't born that fat, it didn't happen overnight - it took years and years, so likewise it might as well take as much if not more time to lose it, doesn't mean you shouldn't try or stop trying. or your own health, for your family and friend that would cry if you died - you should do it. NOW.
parselisrojuje I really appreciate this. It’s completely factual instead of taking jabs at appearances like most. You’re also not assuming things about obese people that aren’t true, so I really respect that.
@Ligeia D.Aurevilly I am an ED doctor. You can believe it or not as you like. Also you can lose weight or not - it's your body so you get to choose. The only thing I was trying to say that being overweight has risks (open any medical text) and you (and I) should know the risks and accept the consequences of not doing anything about it or do something about it.
Finally someone who doesn't speak from his butt. I wholeheartedly thank you for spewing facts that the majority of this comment section seems to deem suddenly inaccurate for some reason.
@Ligeia D.Aurevilly Butting in a year later- Just a daily reminder that motivation is always the biggest two faced blade of a sword there can ever be. One day it's there and fills you up with euphoria about upcoming success, the next it's absent, leaving you dry. It's not about motivation, but instead discipline and embedding subtle habits to fight off the bad ones, or if possible- replacing the bad ones with better ones. Best of luck for both of you.
"I'm fat." "Oh, no! you're gorgeous, blah,blah,blah..." Honey, did I say it like I was insulting myself? That just always makes me so upset, like, I know i'm drop-dead gorgeous, you don't need to tell me.
You are beautiful if you are healthy that’s why people who are obese aren’t beautiful because it is a legitimate health risk if you are I little chubby and healthy that’s fine
It's lovely to see people saying "Oh, but not all skinny people can gain weight, it's not that easy." but when it comes to fat people, it's apparently super easy to lose weight for everyone! Just like with skinny people, not all fat people can lose weight so easily. Also, alot of people, like myself, just don't wanna lose weight and are happy with how they look.
dude. It's not that easy, People got different types of metabolism so If you just eat 3000 kcals it doesn't mean that your organism got to use it all and not turn it to fat
Über Mensch 1) You can't "change" your metabolism. It's determined by your DNA. 2) The thing here is that with my type of metabolism as it was stated by my doctor a lot of calories tend to just be "conserved" in my body as fat. So my diet is to eat less but eat such food that doesn't make me feel hunger and to exercise. The thing with this diet is that it affects my mental abilities. I am the intellectual and my work depends on my thinking. So such diet is not good for me personally and financially. I do exercise but just for muscles. I just don't give a damn now about losing weight because my priorities are different. I feel way more happy without this diet for losing weight because I'm able of intense intellectual work for a long time during the day. I have healthy lifestyle and feel ok. My weight is stagnant.
99 Bottles of Bleach during WWII there was a very little amount of fat people, what do you try to say, lol? Of course, people become fat because of disease/addiction/stress in the time of comfort
Lol, fat people are impossible. You them them they're fat," why are you so mean to me!!!!". You tell them they're fine the way they are, "why are you lying to me!!!!". Then goes back bad eating habits lol.
What I’ve learned from this series: Just shut up. Don’t say anything to anyone ever. God forbid that you actually have a conversation and end up learning something.
that's not the point of this series, it's just to have a little empathy towards people who are different to you, and to not be fuckin annoying and butt your nose in tbh but it's ok be offended by literally nothing
@@Joker13579100 well it probably not the intention, but it surdenly is how it is percieved. and because most of the people on this series are easily offended by everything
Just don't ask them things that are rude. I mean if you had a major insecurity or it's a question that you have been asked a lot about I bet that you would be tired.
@@sarcasm1008 Sure, people should always be polite. But it's the unwillingness to be curious and ask questions that allow stereotypes and discrimination to continue existing. It might be very tiring to keep answering the same stupid questions but those are necessary for people to learn and society to change. Something about yourself might be obvious to you and seem unnecessary to answer, but it is not to everyone else and answering the questions people ask about you is the only way to make them understand.
Lotte Boon one of my friends has the thickest hair I've ever seen on a person and she complains about losing the odd strand while I'm sat there with my scalp very visible through my hair wanting to punch her.
I think she's meaning that all of a sudden everyone's became a doctor.. and it's not a desiease... yes it's not good and it's a bad thing that the world has going on but I'm sorry it's not something you can pass to someone else xD
There is two things wrong with this video: 1) It's defending being fat in a country with universal healthcare, which is one of the many reason why the NHS is failing so badly now, because they can't keep up with the needs of the population. 2) It's from the BBC, which means this video is funded by taxpayers.
Skinny chick: yeah i love smoking weed and eating 2 WHOLE pizzas while I play video games People: DREAM GIRL fat chick: I like pizza too- People: wtf! you need to stop eating I'm worried abt your health!
+#1 One Piece Fan OP didn't say that??? OP is making a point that SOME skinny people can lead unbelievably "unhealthy" lifestyles and we perceive it as fashionable, brave and cute. Like if they throw on sweatpants and that's so trendy, but if a fat girl does it, it's trashy and lazy. Calm down a bit lol. Have a great day
Not necessarily true. A lot skinny people are the very ones shaming fat people. I've seen it enough. Just like a lot of fat people have taken to shaming skinny people in attempt to be body positive. Just because skinny people also face body shaming, doesn't mean they can't and aren't dishing it out too. In fact, it makes it more likely. That's kinda human nature.
rubik224 bull crap! You can be one of the most fit and healthy people in the world and still be considered overweight. There are medical issues as well as genetics that make people this way. I eat a salad (with no dressing or seasoning) everyday and I'm fat but my friend it's a pizza and a cake for lunch and she is arguably the skinniest person in school. I also do much more exercise than her. she hates exercise and I go to the gym three times a weeks and I've been doing so for the past 2 years (at least). You need to get your head screwed on.
c4ndybubb13 I think you're trolling, but let me entertain you either way: 1KG of fat is about 7200 calories on average but varies person to person. Fat is how the body stores energy as a survival method. I seriously doubt there were fat people when we were hunter gathers when our food intake and exercise weren't a matter of choice. I didn't say anything else about the video but she phrased a question "How could I lead a healthier lifestyle?" after listing that she didn't smoke, drink etc. and all I said was losing weight, any doctor would have had the same reply. If a smoker said "I don't drink, I eat healthy, I exercise, how could I be any healthier?" I'd say stop smoking. Just because you do a bunch of healthy things it doesn't mean the unhealthy thing you do doesn't count. People are welcome to be fat I don't have a problem with it, but it's a persons choice how much they eat and exercise, and lets not pretend that being fat is healthy. If you're still not losing noticeable weight after eating 2000 calories per day and exercising 6 days of each week for 3 months then you're a miracle of science and a new source of energy that could solve global warming.
rubik224 I understand what you're saying but I know two girls at my school. They're the same age and roughly the same height. One was adopted and the other wasn't and they both live together and carry out almost exactly the same thing everyday. One is quite big and the other is really skinny. Explain that??
c4ndybubb13 I can guarantee that you don't track your calories..I'd say this is the case with most 'I cant lose weight its my genetics' type of people, same with the 'i cant gain weight its my genetics'..Track your damn calories and you will see what the deal is. The result will be that you will see exactly how much you are eating, otherwise it's just guess work. and just because she eats a pizza and cake for lunch doesn't mean anything either..what about the rest of her daily intake? yeah, her food choices might not be 'clean' foods for her lunch, but chances are her other meals will be very small. Hence why she is skinny. not attacking you btw just saying. cause I used to be 'i cant gain weight its my genetics' kinda guy, when really it was because I was over estimating my intake. Like i was drinking mass gainer shakes, and still not gaining mass.why? because overall, my intake was too low to be in the caloric surplus needed to gain weight. same applies to losing weight, you can choose healthy foods, yes, but still you need to be in a caloric deficit to lose weight.
Nigel Pearson I get what you're saying but when I did go round to my friends house once for tea, I couldn't even eat most of it. She practically cleaned the plate and I ate about half. My friend and I tracked our daily calories for about two weeks and on average, I got 1,456 per day (less than the recommended) and she got 2,312 per day (more than the recommended). For some people you can argue that it is over or underestimating calorie intake that is making them feel this way, but in my situation (and many others) it is fair to say that it is down to genetics
“I’ve been a strict vegetarian since birth, I’ve never smoked, I’ve never drank.” Ok well being a vegetarian doesn’t do shit. Soda, chips, french fries, cheese, pasta, and other things are all “vegetarian” and they’re some of the worst foods for you. Being vegetarian doesn’t mean shit about how healthy you eat, it simply means you don’t eat meat.
True... but your statement wouldn't apply to India where fries and chips aren't considered as traditional food items and hundreds of healthy vegetarian food items are available.
Let's get this straight... you are running along the street and someone shouts fatty to try and shame you as if you have committed a crime when you are clearly trying to 'resolve your sins' or however you want to put it. Where is the logic? WHERE???
alan andrianov Not really, it encourages people to binge eat because they feel like there is no point in living and they’re okay with dying. They should just keep their comments to themselves.
I feel there should be like a mirror version of this video and do a "what not to say to skinny people" BECAUSE HEAR ME OUT. People who are not in the middle range of skinny and fat always get bullied. You might not think it but skinny people do too!!! I've been under 100 lbs my entire life and on a fucking daily basis I get comments like "do you ever eat?" "Are you bulimic/anorexic?" "If you turned to the side I could see right through you" "look at their wrist!" "Are you okay? Are you on drugs?" etc., and it's with strangers and people I know. It's quite offensive and trust me I know some people think of it as small talk but it's actually offensive. You're also not the first person to make the stupid burger comment. I hate burgers by the way they're disgusting and that's just a personal opinion. But trust me I've tried to gain weight but it's impossible and some people might think that's a blessing but to me it's a never ending curse of rude comments. Open your eyes people!
McKenna Tyler my friend is the same. She's about 102 and she's super skinny while I'm fluffy lol. It's Bc she has a fast metabolism while I just don't care whether or not I can lose weight.
McKenna Tyler Yeah, I eat quite a lot, but I just don't get weight, and people just came and ask if I'm freaking anorexic! But anorexia is a sickness, you can't go and ask people that!
My aunt is skinny too but she tells me she doesn't care what other people think she should look like, she cares about being her self. Always be yourself you are the best you🤗👍
That was me for many years, until I started lifting weights. I can't the number of people who told me to eat a sandwich (one of them told me to eat a whole cow), and then of course there was the perfect stranger at the mall who saw me eating a nice big burger and said, "I hope you're not going to go throw all that up." A "friend" told me my spine looked like Gollum from Lord of the Rings. I was asked, multiple times, if I had cancer -- this despite having a full head of long hair. I got called Skeletor a couple times, too, which...yeah. Fun times.
Wow, the people in the comments have no heart. Just be concerned about yourself jfc. Insults won't help anyone, even if they make you feel more superior.
to you all who are like “by american standards this is normal” well, by 2020, experts suggest that *91%* of the population in the UK can be classified as overweight or obese. so, technically, this will be your normal size in the UK. just some food for thought.
That's such bullshit. It's like less than 30% of the population and we are pretty close to 2020. So unless 61% of the population suddenly gains 20kg in the next basically 2 months, I don't think thats very likely. Also America is top 3 in the most obese country's in the world, and I dont even think the UK is in the top 20. Nice try tho
Please do things not to say to a skinny person, I have dealt with all the nasty comments for all my life, "you need to eat more" "are you okay?" "Do you have an eating disorder" "you're just skin and bones". A lot of people think that it's okay to comment on skinny people, but it's not and it makes them feel so self conscious and ugly.
Lavender Owl don't judge something you don't understand. It's a struggle when you can't gain weight. It's struggle when your being asked if you're anorexic or not. It's a struggle. It's the same struggle that fat girls would feel everyday.
Lavender Owl no one dehumanized fat people either, you don't get to decide how people feel and if you're unwilling to hear someone say they feel shamed for being skinny then you forfeight your right to any talk on bodies
You aren't denied insurance, promotions, or jobs because you are skinny. Being taunted for being skinny and existing as a fat person are two vastly different things.
I hear (from my own family!) "You're not fat, you're beautiful". I AM fat (and also healthy - I went to the doctors recently, and got a clean bill of health), and I don't know why the two terms are considered to be mutually exclusive. I don't see why I can't be both fat and beautiful.
Sarah Jane Schofield because being fat means your not healthy! It depends on your weight like most of these people are not healthy if you’re slightly overweight than it’s okay
Maria Theresa Laurent But healthy doesn’t equal beautiful either. They’re unrelated terms. Someone could be skinny (“beautiful” to most people apparently) and in horrible health.
Amanda Bisby and I never said that skinny people cant be unhealthy. Being fat is putting pressure on your body, obesity can cause diabetes and heart disease and sometimes even cancer. Now I’m not saying skinny people cant be unhealthy but I’m just saying that being fat can cause problems that are avoidable. When you look at skinny people, we often assume they are healthy and that what makes them attractive (I’m not able to explain this)

Katya Lastovkina Americans did invent the fat acceptance thing
its called body/self acceptance, it deals with other things then just weight. They're telling people that you don't have to feel ashamed with how you look. Too many times people are put down or feel put down because they don't fit society's standards. The acceptance thing is to help others not feel alone and those to understand that they shouldn't feel that way about themselves.
i was like “wtf these people aren’t fat??”

vegetarian doesn't mean you're healthy, you can still eat sweets, i was a vegetarian for 3 years and gained so much weight so i just decided to go vegan with no sweets
Anthony actually, alot of sweets contain gelatin in, meaning that vegetarians can't eat alot of sweets.
c4ndybubb13 also a lot of yogurt has gelatin, and some lollipops
Anthony your previous comment is on contrast with your comment you used to reply. You are making no sense and need to go back to school.
c4ndybubb13 and gummies except sour patch and Swedish fish
Anthony THIS MEANS THAT THEY CAN'T EAT IT. I have been a vegetarian my whole life (14 years) so don't try me either

Ah, karma.
Ryan Steele That story is fake as shit
I'm not obese fat but I'm still fat. It's very annoying when I'm told, "You're not fat." "You're beautiful just the way you are." It get tired of this cause they only see the illusion. Yes I can hide it somewhat well but I know that I'm fat and I'm very insecure about it.
It's also annoying when people say, "Why don't you try exercising?" Like I have! It's not as easy as it sounds. I can lose weight but I can't get of some fat completely and it's so frustrating
nejifan25 your not fat your just fluffy like me
I feel the same exact way

@skylerelax they litrialy said it wasn't about weight
I talk to overweight people the same way I talk to anyone else--I don't ask about their diet or exercise habits, I don't give them weight-loss advice, I mind my own business.
Erin Miller we need more people like you in the world
Karlee Cae Thank you!
wow youre so special talking to normal people like a normal person should
Of course I talk to them normally lol but I have this bad habit of complaining about my own self and I'm underweight yet still find myself fat plus two of the people I spend the most time with are overweight so... Yeah they kinda wanna kill me. It looks like I'm indirectly asking them to lose weight by saying I'm fat when I'm just talking about my own troubled self (but we do talk about diets a lot as I'm really informed about the subject & they want to lose weight to avoid health problems).
Random User It’s harder than you think; I’ve seen it firsthand. Most people can’t handle talking to an obese person without bringing up their weight.
“Have you tried exercising?”
“Not recently.”

When you're overweight and exercising to lose the weight and someone walks/drives pass and yells "fatty" or "fat fuck" etc that's when I feel like it's definitely uncalled for, like dude why do you think I'm in my workout gear and running 5k? I don't run for fun.
Keep going don't get discouraged.
Sesshomaru magic do people actually do that what the fuck?
Don't you think that if it wasn't for bullying like that you'd never move your fat ass and workout?
"I hear that all the time, "
"Do you? "
"Yes, but it's nothing to do with being fat…"

Too fat to be a model. People like you need to quit lying to these poor obese ass women. They actually convincing themselves that it’s okay to be obese these days. This shits harmful. It’s unattractive. Why pretend otherwise?

There was a really large boy I remember seeing at the town pool just about every day of the summer when I was a child. I always tried not the stare but I honestly admired his courage for going out and working out at the pool every day and being determined to lose the weight even if it risked people's staring and whispering about how big he was. I still see him around town every once in a while and he has lost so much weight he looked like he used to be pushing 400 lbs and now he looks around 200 or 250 he's definitely not a skinny guy but I still give him so much credit for all the progress he made over the years.
Beautyful ASMR you should Walk up to him and tell him that next time you see him :D

It would be rude to assume tbh.

Twice a week? That's it?
Some people are sensitive to the word and get offended easily by it. People are born with fat, but it isnt good to have unhealthy fat. But people are struggling with losing that fat that isnt good for them, and there getting teased for it. Its not right to label somone as fat if they don't like because they're struggling.

DictatorialAura you are lazy if your fat.If your fat that means you don't care about yourself and won't try to change yourself except for some who actually take the effort to change.Thats why I hate this shit fat acceptance is not ok it's not healthy
Being overweight does NOT mean you're lazy!
Some people have medical conditions!
The Elder if you actually have a condition than fine your not lazy but for the rest of the people that can actually lose it their lazy
People assume fat people are lazy because they understand that them being lazy would result in the same thing.

Look at the size of him/her, you aren’t that big, don’t worry!’
Sorry WHAT?! (Needless to say we are no longer ‘friends’!)
Equally I’ve had friends who are plus size like me degrade other plus size / fat people (both men & women).
X
It's because we're taught to hate ourselves so much that we feel we have to belittle others to build ourselves up. It's really quite sad. :'(
_should you be wearing that?_

Depression doesn't affect your physical form honey.

It's really odd that these people aren't "fat enough" for some of these people in the comments.
Distracted Fox It's pretty dumb. They're all fat.
Lol

“It doesn’t matter how hard you try to be beautiful it will never happen”
“Awwww, eating again? Why don’t you just starve yourself to death then we will all be happy”

Bbc 3 is turning into Britt buzzfeed (on YT)
Fox Comm I like these better than Buzzfeed.
Fox Comm Actually, Buzzfeed would make a video about how beautiful and perfect and amazing and cute fat people are.
These people here on bbc3 are just realistic.
Joshualacruz Yep. The people in these videos come across more realistic.

Yikes. I’m sorry
Just imagine someone walking up to you and say "ah yes you'll be perfect for our fat people questions video" I would be insulted like how did they do that shit
igrain joustra if you're comfortable with being fat, being called fat won't make you feel insulted.
Mimi :D yes that's true but how do they know that when they ask them.
igrain joustra I so agree
I think what they do is they ask if they'll be ok with coming to their video and talking about it. It takes a lot of strength to come to these videos

I was having a lot of family problems myself and felt so lost in life that I turned to food for comfort and I still do till this day.
That’s no excuse
Eating more won't solve anything
I actually would wonder if someone smoking cared about their health though. I think smoking is worse than being fat.
No dumbass smoking is not more dangerous than being fat? Where did you hear that from?
According to statistics, smoking is deadlier than obesity.

“the world’s not ready for that”

Things not to say to a skinny person?
@Dani min

@@Zyn_Shi not that much tho

I know right! I think some people think that everyone praises skinny people and doesn't get insulted and it's ANNOYING
Tell her the truth tell her being fat is not pretty but being healthy or working to become healthy is
The annoying thing is having people who say stuff like that to you in your house.
Lyra Misty I feel you
I get that they're just trying to look out for you but that is NOT OKAY.

K Armstrong annoying wtf is wrong with you? Compliments are annoying what a joke
@ 2:00 excersize really does make you happier, it promotes the release of dopamine

You wouldn't be saying that if they weren't wearing 18 tonnes of makeup.
Adam Holmes there's like no way anyone can wear 18 tonnes of make up. Seriously men like you are the reason that some women end up so insecure.
But I'd love to own 18 tonnes of make up with help with my business as a beauty therapist.
Adam Holmes actually I'd still find her beautiful as she has really nice facial features.
Cope more fat
Girl In the yellow is quite good looking
She would be even better looking if she lost weight. Andre Roy
Chrominance87 This is true
Every fat person would look better if they lost weight. Fat is so disgusting and unhealthy. Excess body fat is my #1 turn-off with most of the population's women.
Network126 and people who think like you are the number one turn off for women :)
Girl in the yellow is so gorgeous!
ok but the guys with the huge beards are not even "fat". they're big but i wouldn't call them fat
Especially the one in the red shirt, no idea what he's doing in this vid.
chintastic: they seem to be obese. Just because you aren't as fat as the chick in black doesn't mean you aren't obese
double standard. men shouldn't "get away" with being fat.
personally, i think they look more muscular. granted, males tend to have more toned muscles, i guess you can say, even when they're "fat". But, like I said, I, myself, would not consider them "fat" because they look like they are overweight but not necessarily have much fat to them relative to their muscles. hope that made sense. i'm speaking for myself, not for everyone. also, i'm just saying based on how i see them, i.e. based on the upper half of their body.
i agree. based on BMI, even an athlete can be considered obese. but i wouldn't call them fat.

ALL THE TIME, if I'm driving around with my mom, she'll point out fat women and say "Oh my, she should NOT be wearing that. Why on earth would you want to wear tight clothes/show skin with a body like that?"
...it drives me INSANE. Many times I have tried talking to her about how I really don't appreciate hearing that, but then she just starts arguing with me, and she never stops doing it.
my parents do the same thing.
Same also my mom hates people with piercings and tattoos

#1 One Piece Fan it must be so hard to live in a world where people don't look exactly how you want them to all the time.
Alice Kirbyson by and large 😂 😂 😂 😂
You’re a medical professional whom cannot spell.
Finally someone who doesn't speak from his butt. I wholeheartedly thank you for spewing facts that the majority of this comment section seems to deem suddenly inaccurate for some reason.

Just a daily reminder that motivation is always the biggest two faced blade of a sword there can ever be.
One day it's there and fills you up with euphoria about upcoming success, the next it's absent, leaving you dry.
It's not about motivation, but instead discipline and embedding subtle habits to fight off the bad ones, or if possible- replacing the bad ones with better ones.
Best of luck for both of you.

Well maybe you should get your weight sorted so you don't die in your mid 50's from a heart attack.
It's unfair on men that it's "ok" for them to be called fat by a male friend but women do the complete opposite.
Site your sources and go back to school.
Deus Vult. I'm not listening to you unless you can site your sources.
dude. It's not that easy, People got different types of metabolism so If you just eat 3000 kcals it doesn't mean that your organism got to use it all and not turn it to fat
Über Mensch
1) You can't "change" your metabolism.

@@sarcasm1008 Sure, people should always be polite. But it's the unwillingness to be curious and ask questions that allow stereotypes and discrimination to continue existing. It might be very tiring to keep answering the same stupid questions but those are necessary for people to learn and society to change. There is two things wrong with this video:
1) It's defending being fat in a country with universal healthcare, which is one of the many reason why the NHS is failing so badly now, because they can't keep up with the needs of the population.
2) It's from the BBC, which means this video is funded by taxpayers.

Not necessarily true. A lot skinny people are the very ones shaming fat people. I've seen it enough. Just like a lot of fat people have taken to shaming skinny people in attempt to be body positive. "How much of a healthier lifestyle could I lead?" Maybe like not being over weight?
rubik224 bull crap!
Explain that??
c4ndybubb13
I can guarantee that you don't track your calories..I'd say this is the case with most 'I cant lose weight its my genetics' type of people, same with the 'i cant gain weight its my genetics'..Track your damn calories and you will see what the deal is.
The blonde with the black floral shirt looks like Emma stone!!!!!

Exactly! And how much of it you eat versus how much of it you burn has a lot to do with it as well.
Exactly, some meat is extremely good for you anyway. Yes, there are meat alternatives but meat itself has healthy types.
True... but your statement wouldn't apply to India where fries and chips aren't considered as traditional food items and hundreds of healthy vegetarian food items are available.
Let's get this straight... you are running along the street and someone shouts fatty to try and shame you as if you have committed a crime when you are clearly trying to 'resolve your sins' or however you want to put it. Where is the logic? WHERE???
Yes this is bad but is it worse for noone to care about weight and for us all to die at 30

Fun times.
IKR! Especially the wrist...
“Is your boyfriend fat as well?”
This is funny because my brother is like 6’11 and stick skinny and his girlfriend is pretty chubs it’s great.
Okay but 6'11" is..... Extremely tall
@@cryinglaughingemoji1741 ikr like wow
Most of the people in is video aren't even that big
They're all fat
My thoughts exactly!
Especially those two men with breads
you must be American. They're huge for European standards
BritneyHIAM I'm British and I can tell you now they aren't huge for our standards. I wouldn't even bat an eyelid at them walking down the street.
Wow, the people in the comments have no heart. Just be concerned about yourself jfc. Insults won't help anyone, even if they make you feel more superior.
Interesting videos but I feel like the people who say these things aren't the ones watching.
to you all who are like “by american standards this is normal”
well, by 2020, experts suggest that *91%* of the population in the UK can be classified as overweight or obese.
so, technically, this will be your normal size in the UK.
just some food for thought.
Being skinny is not a struggle though. You are not dehumanized just for existing. Get over yourself.
Lavender Owl i agree with you
You aren't denied insurance, promotions, or jobs because you are skinny.
When you look at skinny people, we often assume they are healthy and that what makes them attractive (I’m not able to explain this)
The two girls (redhead and brunette) were so pretty! They seemed SO sweet, too.
I personally dont find any of them attractive/pretty.Its pretty much subjective.
omg the girl the yellow is actually so pretty!? i was flabbergasted
katelyn wooten
Not my type but agreed
Why are you flabbergasted 😒
0:32 girl in yellow, anyone else think she's absolutely stunning?
