Correct me if I'm wrong, but I find some of these questions relate to phrasing. By phrasing a question successfully, I think the reactions would see a more positive response. As frustrating as it certainly is for the trans community, a lot of people learn directly through asking over-asked, often insulting questions. Better phrasing could look like... 1. When did you know you were trans/when did you decide to live openly as trans? 2. Are you interested in transitional surgeries? If so, are you comfortable disclosing which ones? 3. Do you feel safer using any specific gendered bathroom? 4. Does sex present any challenges for a trans individual or for your partner(s)? 5. I'm not sure of the differences between a trans individual and someone who engages in drag? 6. Would you have been happier keeping your sexuality but having the gender you identify with? 7. .... >Nope. Use your head. 8. ... >Can they feel your personal areas? 9. ... >Congratulations detective, they can tell you're without manners. 10. Stated within the video: what is your preferred pronoun? 11. >They didn't 'convert' from anchovies to jalapenos on a pizza. Golden rule: if it's a general question such as 4/5/7/8/9/11, or a question you would likely not ask anyone else (LGBTQ+ or otherwise) it's probably safe to say that it probably won't be taken kindly. Google is your friend in asking very personal or general questions and only takes a few minutes to get a summary (or, up to years reading from countless individuals) Trans people are just as smart as you or I and they have spent a lot of time considering every aspect of themselves and endured a lot of trials to be where they are today. Assume they have already thought long and hard about their identity and know far more about it than your questions would ever highlight. Treat them as you would wish to be treated as they are: human.
Honestly, all of these questions still seem rude and invasive. I don't think there is any polite way to ask someone about their genitals. It's nobody's business. If the person likes and trusts you, they will disclose this information. if they don't it's because you don't need to know.
Sure, thwy are worded in a more polite fashion. However, not anyone can ask them, you know? Why would I tell you about my surgeries? Will you tell me about your genitalia? Of course, if It's someone close, It's a different story.

One of the main conservative narratives is that boys and girls at young ages start playing with different gendered toys as sign that gender identity is strict and unchangeable. Why are they then so opposed to the idea that a child showing signs of gender non-conformity as a toddler could have some kind of sex condition?
@@HorizonPlaysYT I don't get the real name thing. That makes the least sense of any question because people of all genders, sexual orientations, etc. prefer to go by a name that isn't their legal name. So why would it be any different for a trans person?

@Devina Das i can definitely understand the confusion from an outside perspective. There's a few reasons dysphoria is seen as a little different. From all the research that has been done, the best way to cure dysphoria is to transition. We don't have any kind of pill that gets rid of it. And we may never have that because the second reason it's a little different is there's some research that suggests the entire issue is the brain and body are of different sexes. What I mean by that is it's a female wired brain in a male body or a male wired brain in a female body. Male and female brains are extremely similar but there are a few noticable differences. If this is the case, there's no pill or treatment like depression or other similar conditions. The best thing to do in that case is to make the body and mind line up. Currently, we have no way of restructuring the brain but we can do that to the body.
@Devina Das I don't expect people do know what I am. I expect people to understand my identity and to respect that. And not to tell me that dysphoria is a thing I can just turn off or that it isn't a real thing. Both of which I've heard a lot
@@applepieexplosion4030 Please, no. Stop with all the "different" brains between genders. It just exacerbates sexism. It's been shown again and again that all newborns brains are exactly the same. yeah, you wouldn’t just waltz up to anyone and ask “what’s in your pants?????” so I don’t see why you would do it to a trans person. unless there’s something that should not be in anyone’s pants like a squirrel or something.
Wtf is cis

I don't know if it's good or bad that most people on here seem to have more of a problem with ear stretching than trans people.
SoundArtist I was watching and I those ear lobes, Jesus so stretched. I think she pulls it off though.
SoundArtist I know, I'm a pretty liberal person but the ear lobe thing gets me. I've seen what lobes look like with the jewelry out and it disturbs me a bit - long flaps of ear skin.
SoundArtist I don't have a 'problem' with it - in a free society if that's what someone wants to do that's up to them. But I find it pretty gross to look it.
The earlobe thing is another attention getting behavior, it turns them on to shock people. I do think it's a bit rich to actually go and maim yourself tho, but I do feel that stretching earlobes is nothing compared to getting your genitals surgically removed. The religious nuts all just say it's a sexual deviancy but I think there's a lot more to it than that.

@@HansBjorgman yeah. That's how trans men feel when they have to hide who they are.
@@HansBjorgman you have to be a real creep to waltz into the comment section of a video about something you clearly disagree with and intentionally be an uneducated buffoon...
Hans Bjorgman yup 👌
Zack Young see in these videos they use short phrases that people say to them and there mostly rude comments that they turn to questions.
This comment is my new holy book
Honestly, all of these questions still seem rude and invasive. I don't think there is any polite way to ask someone about their genitals. It's nobody's business. If the person likes and trusts you, they will disclose this information. if they don't it's because you don't need to know.
Tis true, I'm not sure it really is appropriate to really bother asking unless you're already close. Not something people need to know.
Sure, thwy are worded in a more polite fashion. However, not anyone can ask them, you know? Why would I tell you about my surgeries? Will you tell me about your genitalia? Of course, if It's someone close, It's a different story.

Something not to ask a transgender person: “Why do you get upset when someone calls you he/she?” NO IDEA! ASK MY DYSPHORIA!
Omg yes!! So many people ask stuff like "oh why does this even bother you? It's really nothing" and I'm like, I don't know!! Ask my dysphoria?? Like trust me if I could just make it not bother me I would.
