X80k now supports 4k 120hz. I don't know if they updated the tv or if it's only on certain sizes, but I just bought the 85" x80k and it says it has 4k 120hz in the manual as well as labeled on hdmi 3 and 4 on the back of the tv. I tested it with a ps5 as well as laptop, and it works.
Thank you!! For this comment❤ I had just purchased this TV from Best Buy and the employee assured me the X80K line was all 120hz. It is indeed 60hz with exception to your previously mentioned 85". I returned it same day and bouggt the x85k series which does support 120hz. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SAVING ME A MASSIVE HEADACHE🎉🎉🎉
Hi there Steve, can You please help me. I can buy for my parents 50x81k with good price this year, my question is it better to go with x81k model or x80j (which is more expensive now) from past year. And does remote controller from x80j which i have one (with numbers) will work on x81k out from box, or i need to connect it after initial setup? I have older members in home. And for the panel of x81k or x80j for 50 Inch version is it same? I had some light bleed from the left side next to frame in grey scenes on 50x80j. Thanks
Informative video 👍 I’m seriously considering buying the 43” unit to replace my 10 year old Sharp Aquos, which still works pretty well but it’s 10 years old. Technology marches on. What do the speakers sound like?
Thank you for the easy installation even I can follow. However what if I want to add a XBOX a little later, how do I go back to add it? Is it complicated? Thank you in advance Jeri (I can’t do complicated 😏)
Why my x80k when i udjust the brigtnest to the lowest it always returning back to max after a while when i adjust the picure mode it always returning back to vivid it is so bright nd i dont want it like that pla help me
what if you have more than 1 google account, can you toggle between account or does it only accept one? Like in my case one account has amazon, the other has hbo. Does that mean I can only use one and only do manual setup for the app on the other google account?
@@TechSteve Great review Steve. Possibly a related question: Aside from using "screen mirroring" from a phone or tablet, do you have any suggestions for how multiple house guests can stream their own apps in a rental home where users change weekly/monthly? We have an X900H and I use my Google account to access several apps ( HBO, Amazon, Netflix, etc) but it's for us only. Aside from telling them to use screen mirroring, maybe I should just set up with Google but remove my payment methods and sign out of my premium streaming apps when I leave the rental home? Thanks in advance.
Interesting but complicated. We just got a Sony Bravia X80K (43") and will use a cable box hookup. Is there a connection for add-on speakers (Logitech Z313)?? We want to use a different stand (Sanus Swivel stand). We don't have iPhones so how can we do set-up?? Will only use it for cable TV watching. Sign me, a confused old dude. Used to be, you bought a TV, took it home, plugged it in, adjusted the antenna and were good to go. Not no more.
@@TechSteve okay Steve I'll check back later. I've heard a few people mention that the lower end Sony TVs are pretty good this year. Time will tell after more people review them including you of course my friend. Your channel is going well and I'm happy for you my brotha.
@@peterandrews1335 go get it! The 55" X80K is currently $579! I got mine for $628 a month ago. Imagine the price during Black Friday 👍. I highly recommend it!
Steve, im looking to get a x80K 65" but this is on IPS panel. I know the difference between VA vs IPS panels, but on the same model (X80K), will the panel type matters alot? I worried about IPS panel has poor contrasts that might impact the overall pictures quality. What's your advice? **I don't know why Sony do not want to make all sizes to use same panel.... Thanks Steve for the link. I watched that already before commenting here. Haha. From the video, you compared a sony VA vs a Sony IPS. Looks like IPS is better in some ways. One more question about LCD panels is that they have light reflection. Can you advise more on this point?

Nice Tech Steve to see you doing the types of models that we wanna see! Sony, Samsung etc! Keep up the great work!! FIRE!
Thanks Kenneth, more to come
The panel looks very clean. And the picture looks great. Both pretty nice for a budget tv
I lost the power chord for the tv. Do you know what’s the correct one for a replacement?
It's good that you got the VA panel this time. Let the others cover the more widely available IPS.
Pretty interesting budget TV, hope sony keeps up the quality with their higher end models.
When will the Sony X90K come out because I'm getting it for PS5 for the 120hz and Bravia Core app for IMAX movies?
No sure yet, sony will release some new models this month
Does the welcome screen pop up as you power up the tv and switch it on? My does not

Hi, can you get different leg stands for this tv? I need flat legs to avoid buying a new tv unit.
Thank you
No
Does this TV have the option to control a cable box and the TV with just one remote?
Only if the cable box supports CEC via hdmi
for movies and streaming content which 65 inch tv would be better sony x80k or hisense u68k mini led? keeping aside the pricing factor
You will find the absolute best colors on Sony for movies
I am interested in the 55inch panel. Does it also have a VA panel? I know the 65inch version has an ADS panel.

Question: I just bought the 50 inch do u recommend me take it back for the 43 inch since it has IPS?

X80k 85 inch or x90l 75 inch?
X90L all the way
The X90L is full array local diming (FALD) but interestingly, the 85 inch X80K features a 120Hz panel.
@furballbear the 90L is a true 10bit panel vs the x85 is a 8bit panel with frc
@@TechSteve Is that noticeable to the human eye?
Yes, 10Bit has billions of colors and not simulated. That’s why 10bit panels cost more
Thank you so much. Excellent info. X80K is fresh. Love it.
Sony Bravia is just simply the best
I’m looking to buy good affordable 43 inches 4K tv for my Ps5, Sony X85J is overprice for 43”. Do you recommend this tv or maybe another tv with 60hz
Hi Tech Steve , how can I enable HDMI arc CEC to control a soundbar ? Thanks
How about wall mounting it?
Being that the X80K seems to be an IPS, do you think it would make sense to get this over the VA X85J?
Specifically in the 43’ size.
Thank you.
Ips is brighter and more colorful but suffers from blooming however I prefer it overall
Can you receive phone calls with the added camera?
No only Google meets
Is there any way to reduce frame Diming? It's too obvious on watching dark movies and horror games
Just the backlighting but then it gets too dark

I just bought this x80k yesterday. I tried to watch Disney+ and HBO max but the app said it’s not compatible to your device. Any fix for this?

Make sure you apply your changes to all settings. Each input has a different level
Does not have 2.1 hdmi in this point a80j is better for Videogames ?
No it’s 60Hz
I hope Sony revise the usb ports' location and exchange it with the antenna port.
How can you plug a hard rive if it is that high?
? Longer USB cable
