      best tv hai, better than x85k and x90/95k which have even local dimming features. It has frame dimming which is best for eyes. I the showroom, i tested both x80k and x85k for 4 hours continuously for a single video (liftika song). x80k was far superior and show those details which x85k lacks totally. x85/x90 k have more brightness which results in washing the details. x80 k shows the details of hairs and wrinkles on mouth but x85k doesn't. And it saved me a lot in terms of money and that I am buying a best tv available today with frame dimming which is best for eyes. check rtings revies for frame dimming- other tvs uses pwm dimming which is harmful for eyes for some sensitive people. This IPS panel is far superior to VA panel which shows great blacks.

      Wait, so 50,55,65 etc have matt finish? I don't think Sony does that. Please confirm. Also, they say 50 is a VA panel. Has anyone seen a 43 IPS n 50 VA side by side? Apart from the usual IPS vs VA how does 50x80k VA from SONY fare with say a samsung VA from the same price point? Many say samsung crushes the black so much that you lose details in dark scenes. So you get inkly blacks but lose details. I am very confused as to whether go for IPS or VA from Sony. The offline store don't even know if it's a VA they say all 80 series are IPS. Called Sony customer care and they said "we can't disclose that to the customer,bits company policy" I think even the person on call didn't know why/if sony uses VA for 50 inch size.

    I bought the 43" and the 50". 43" ips panel that I own has an annoying IPS glow along the top edge of the screen as well as left side corner. Adjusting the viewing angle helped relieve the glow a bit but it is still noticeable. This applies only when watching tv at night or in a dark room. Anytime I move the tv, the glow gets worse and I have to wipe the screen in order to alleviate some of the clouding. It's also is not consistent because certain movies will have it and some won't. For example, I watched "Thor Love and Thunder" on Disney app and there was no clouding issue even with the black bars. But then I watched "Black Adam" on HBO max and the clouding was very visible. I believe they are both 4kUHD. I wish TH-cam allowed us to post pictures in the comments to show you. But if you are watching anything full screen then the glow is not visible especially if watching a movie or show with a lot of light scenes.
    As for picture quality, I have to say its pretty great. Much better I think compared to the VA 50". The VA tvs have a kind of matte effect on the picture quality which isn't bad but the IPS really does make watching tv a bit more fun (except for the clouding). Also I really love the user interface for these tv's. There is no lag at all compared to my previous samsung 7 series. Its user friendly and esthetically pleasing.

      best tv hai, better than x85k and x90/95k which have even local dimming features.

    I bought the 50” X80K specifically to test out ATSC 3.0 here in the Detroit area. It didn’t work out very well unfortunately. The X80K’s tuner struggled to maintain a consistent signal with the NextGen stations. I thought maybe there was an issue with that tower ( here in Detroit nbc,abc, cbs, fox & tv20 all broadcast their ATSC 3.0 signals from the same location/tower) but the X80K was struggling with the ATSC 1.0 signals as well. I thinks it is a great looking tv, it has excellent sound and I really did like how snappy Google TV ran on it, but at almost half the price my Series 4 TCL Roku TV has a much better over the air tuner, has a better electronic program guide and allows you to add a thumb drive to pause live TV. So I ended up returning the Sony. There is one thing about the electronic program guide on the Sony I found annoying, when you highlight a program and hit the select button on the remote it does not immediately tune to the channel, it takes you to a program information window, you then have to hit select again to tune to the channel. I was never able to figure out how to disable that. On a positive note, when I was able to lock in a ATSC 3.0 station, a picture of the directional pad would show up letting you know you can press one of the arrow buttons to get to the interactive menu. I did that a bunch of times and it was pretty cool. For instance: on say NBC, hit the arrow key and a whole menu pops up on the left side of the screen where you can browse categories for previously recorded news, weather and programming content. You select it and hit enter and it plays the content. When done, just hit the back button a couple times, the menu goes away and you are back in live TV. Something to look forward to for sure.

So whenever I’m finished using my soundbar I have to unplug it , and even when I do that the tv stays in the soundbar volume until I re plug the sound bar in and turn it off then unplug it lol. It didn’t do that with my old LG, so idk if it’s the tv or if my soundbar is messing up. It’s a Polk audio

I don't know if they updated the tv or if it's only on certain sizes, (edit: it’s only the 85”) but I just bought the 85" x80k and it says it has 4k 120hz in the manual as well as labeled on hdmi 3 and 4 on the back of the tv. @@GHOST-BOOM I have it hooked to my ps5 and this weekend have been playing Hogwarts, GOW Ragnarock, and Spiderman Miles Morales. It is great. Better than my previous 75” Samsung qled. Set the picture mode to “custom” and leave it alone.
      If you want extra punchy colors or contrast, just turn on dynamic-color-black-and contrast all to medium. It looks vibrant like a qled without causing the skin tones to be off. (triluminous is sonys branding for quantom dots).

    • @Blamkrotch
      @Blamkrotch ปีที่แล้ว

      @Ghost95 depends on the price you can get it for. I got the 85" x80k just before the Superbowl on sale for $1300. For that price it's amazing. The x90k was $2200 and the x95k was $4200. It didn't make sense for me to spend more and I was able to get a good brand name tv with great picture quality for near entry level price. What features do you Actually need? Is it worth the extra $500 moving up to the x85k just to get VRR and maybe a bit more brightness? For me, no. This tv gets plenty bright. It doesn't look dim at all.

    Sony makes a 85" inch model of this TV that is in fact 120hz on HDMI port 3 and 4. It's on sale right now for $1499 and pairs great with my PS5 and Sony ht5000 sound bar.
    It's the exact same panel as the X90K and offers pretty much all the same features. I don't know if it's because of chip shortages so they couldn't add the "center channel" features to the panel to make it a X90K and decided it passed as a X80K or what.
    When i was at best buy the guy told me the same thing as this guy, the X80K are supposed to be 60hz panels. But for whatever reasons if you get the 85" it's 120hz. So keep that in mind if your avoiding this tv because it's 60hz.

    • @TechSteve
      @TechSteve  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I doubt that it’s a 10bit panel and it probably uses the basis X1 processor like x85k , the 90 is 10bit and xr processor

      Overall i can't tell the difference, my dad bought the X90 when it came out and picture wise I wouldn't be able to tell you the difference unless they are side by side which even then you'd have to know what your looking for.... Sony website doesn't specify about the bits.
      I do know it doesn't have all the features like the X90K most of them you have to take with a grain of salt anyways. Which is why I'm guessing probably bc of chip shortages, why make a X80K 120hz?
