Hey Sveta. About the "bad side" of California. The truth is that it's mostly a lie. Every coutnry has it's good and bad. No country is perfect, and neither is America. The same is true of California, Texas, or any other state. But when it comes specifically to California, there is a religious cult in the USA called Evangelical Christians that have taken over the Republican party. They have total power in the US southern states, and a lot of others,
A lot of rich people also belong to this cult and they own Fox, Xwitter, CNN, and a bunch of other powerful media. They are basically the American Taliban. They want to take all freedoms away from people, especially women, and replace the constitution with the bible. Make America all Christian, their cult version of Christianity, and force out (deport) anyone they don't like, and other nonsense like that.
They are very powerful, call themselves MAGA (make America great again) and Trump is their current leader. And they hate California, New York, Seattle, Chicago, because in these states and cities they have no power.
      That's it.
It's all about Power. They want total power. That's why they support Putin, and think the Russian government is fantastic, because they want total power here like he has there, not because they actually like him. They hate democracy, so they hate all the states that are still democratic. It's a little more complicated that just this, but it is the core of the problem.
A good place to get a clear understanding of American Politics, if you are interested, is a TH-cam channel called TYT. They are very pro democracy, and criticize all political parties on their flaws. All people are biased, it's natural, but these people at TYT are very open to criticism, and when they are wrong they admit it and correct it. It's an independent YT channel so not the most professional, low budged, etc, but they are honest. So it's a good source of honest information, even for people who may not agree with their politics.
Cheers, and welcome to America from another immigrant to California, from a neighboring country to yours.

3:40 You can turn it into the nearest police station. If it’s still charged you might be able to see what carrier the owner uses, and drop it off at the appropriate cellular phone store. Or you could deliver it to the address on the ID.
If lost your phone and/or ID, what would you want the finder to do with it? You do the right thing by trying to reunite it with the owner.

Some years ago, Starbucks, the American coffee company, opened a few stores in Vienna, the pastry capital of central Europe. Before the first year was over, they were obliged to change their products, notably their pastries. The American pastries which Starbucks was trying to sell in Vienna were TOO SUGARY for the Viennese. Starbucks had to reduce the sugar content. The entire American food supply is laced with corn syrup too. If you gain weight in the U.S., that is normal, as the food supply is charged with excessive sugars and fats.

Hello Svletna, WELCOME to the US! I hope you enjoy your new life here and that you and your fiance' have a wonderful life together. You seem to be already enjoying yourself so far. With your beauty and video editing skills you will do just fine here as you continue making great videos, regardless how you adjust your channel or even if you start a new one. You are great at what you do. I came across your channel sometime after the conflict in Ukraine started as I was searching for Russian vloggers to learn more about their lives after all that mess started. Somewhere in there, your channel popped up and and I started watching it when I had time. I really enjoyed your style and learned a lot about your beautiful country.
We are all mostly just ordinary people wanting to just go about our day to day lives enjoying life and loving our families and at times traveling and seeing the beauty of the world around us. I enjoyed watching your videos in Russia and seeing the beauty it had to offer. I hope you fall in love with the positive side of what the US has to offer. I have lived in the San Francisco Bay Area for last 40 years. One thing you will probably experience in California is going into a store and finding many items are behind locked areas. It is then inconvenient to purchase those items as you have to summon an employee to get the item for you. He then will carry it to a checkout stand where you can purchase it.
Some stores have come up with one way doors to enter the stores. Then the only way to exit is through the check out stands. Much better system compared to the locked cases.
Shoplifting is a big problem. Town I live in had a nice Target. It closed a year ago due to shoplifting.

But, when I return to Canada I gain it all back, along with higher blood pressure! 😄
Think about it... in the West, we jump in our cars and drive to Costco, Walmart, Krogers and malls to shop.
In Russia, typically there are small groceries, pharmacies, covered markets that you can walk to from your flat, everywhere.
And because the Russian food has less preservatives, you buy only what you need, because it goes bad quicker. So you shop for groceries more, often daily... so you walk more = more calories burnt. Simple. Plus I eat more soups and salads = much healthier.

I came in USA two years ago through green card lottery program. I’m originally from Serbia. I would say that the worst thing here is food and you have to be a bit picky about that. Also my suggestion would be, get your drivers license and get yourself a car. That’s a must have here to get around and to become more independent.

If you lost your phone and someone found it, would you rather have them leave it there or have them try to get it back to you? I've never seen or heard of anyone doing this to anyone. Phones are mad expensive! What if you were kidnapped and dropped your phone and time was of the essence? Please think about it...

What a change after two months (and it is only going to get better). It seems the further north you go on the coastline, the colder the water is going to get. I'm surprised that you are not use to it as I 'assume" that in Russia, the waters would be much colder (You know plunge-baths, long winters). As far as the beaches, they get better going south along the coast. Oh no! She is hooked on Chocolate Chip Cookies (like everyone else). God forbid if she finds the Ice Cream isle in the store, lookout! Remember, moderation! Try to resist! New bike looks sweet and I'm glad it more comfortable. It's fun watching you explore new things. Can want to see more!

There is nothing wrong with the Husqvarna motorcycle, apart from the fact that it was never designed to be used the way you are using it. I'm surprised that any bike shop even sourced pillion pegs for the bike. If you are going to do any amount of road touring, then get a touring bike. Believe me, you will notice the difference. They call it "horses for courses". You need to get the right horse for the course you are undertaking. There is nothing in the design of that bike, that caters for the weight of a pillion passenger. Nor are the tyres suitable for that load, or for continual use on a sealed road. Just some advice from a long term motorcycle rider. (nearly 50 years exp)

Hello from California! Welcome! Ventura is a very popular place and while the beach isn't the prettiest, there's great restaurants. I like Torrance Beach (south of LA) for the beach (it's warmer the more south you go). Hope you've discovered a few gems and if not I hope you don't mind me sharing a few:
Ericson's Fish Company on Ventura Pier with the Madewell Craft beer upstairs---FANTASTIC views at sunset.
You must try the Strawberry Shortcake & the pizza at Boccali's that you undoubtedly passed as you rode through Ojai (with the red umbrellas on the patio). Family owned for 30-40 years. They also have a small vineyard.
If you haven't yet, you'll love driving the 101 coast highway up past Ventura. The beauty just begins in Ventura.
Take the 154 from Santa Barbara up through the mountains & to the Ynez Valley. This is WINE COUNTRY. Los Olivos is perfect little town with tons of winery tasting rooms. It used to be a stagecoach stop back in the 1800's.
San Luis Obispo is fun (Thurs. night farmer's market) (it's wine country w/ lost of country roads that pass by them), but north of that you have the beautiful shore cliffs at Montana de Oro--you will NOT regret going there. Bring a picnic. =)
North of there is Cayucos--a cute beach town, and Cambria, another but far more quiet. Hearst Castle is in San Simeon & you can also see the seal lion refuge along the coast.
    Enjoy!

You should look for adult classes to learn to a sport like golf or tennis. You could also learn to sew or do some sort of art. Join a hiking or walking club. There are also community gardens. You will make some friends.

And if you ever have a little down in the future, you already know that it will be temporary--good luck to you for the future & you're right about language, the best way to not lose it is to try to practice everyday. I'm from eastern Canada, french is my first language, but I had to learn english for practical reason, but I live in a totally bilingual city, so I get to practice both english & french on a daily basis, so I manage to keep both on a good level. Hi Sveta, so you're right the beach waters in California are generally cold esp. north of Santa Barbara. It's because the ocean current comes down from Alaska along the West Coast. And I have to agree with you on the Ventura beaches, not the most pristine. We have a neighbor here in MD whose cousin just moved to Mechanicsburg, PA from Ventura, for work mostly. So glad to hear you're feeling better and more comfortable here. Keep on trucking as we say 👍
