My 24 year old granddaughter lives in a rented tenement flat in Bridgeton, Glasgow, a less salubrious part of the city, it’s 2 bedrooms with small kitchen and small bathroom and costs about the same as you’re paying for the centre of Moscow. However, her electricity (no gas) is more than £150 per month. She then has Council Tax of around £120 per month then internet to pay and that can vary but is normally around £30 upwards per month. It’s hard for the young in the U.K. these days and food prices have risen in the last 2 or 3 years. Your Moscow apartment looks fine for the money with a lot less overheads. If I were young again I would love to move there.
British government sanctioned and banned cheap Russian gas, oil, grain and fertilizers and deliberately brought hardships on British people...a bunch of traitors. While in Russia people do not worry about utility bills, they are times cheaper than in the UK.
What I like about Russia is the reasonable prices for rental housing and utilities. I don’t know of a single European country where they gave an adequate price for housing. I don’t live in Moscow, but I live in Saratov - there is such a city on the Volga River. My apartment has a total area, including a balcony and a loggia, 106 square meters or 1141 square feet. The apartment consists of a living room, two bedrooms, a hallway, a kitchen, a shower room and a water closet. And I pay for my apartment, not counting tax, 8,500 rubles in winter and 5,000 rubles in summer. The annual property tax is 9,000 rubles. The apartment is located on the outskirts of the city and next to my house there is a large park that looks like a forest, or a forest that looks like a park. Many townspeople always relax there and there are many songbirds there.

This is not a typical Russian apartment, but Stalinist houses are still highly valued because they have high ceilings and the size of the apartments in these houses is usually larger than typical Soviet ones. The kitchen is small, just right for a bachelor, but women would not be satisfied)
Yes, you are right. My Mother lives in this building. The famous architect Zholtovskiy made it. There are only a few buildings of him in Moscow. This was build in 1950 during the era of Stalin's reign. By the way, he gave the architect a premium for this building. 😉

Hello everyone, as a muscovite I can tell, it’s not a typical flat at all. Typical flats you will find in cheaper panel or block buildings of 5-14 floors, built in 1950-1980 (average dates) in so called ‘sleeping areas’. This building belongs to Stalin period and is built with far better materials (bricks) and approach (overall architecture) so till today people wish to buy an apartment there but it’s too expensive. Also you’ll find such type of buildings closer to the city center, second reason why it’s so expensive. Thanks for the video, it’s always interesting to see Stalinki inside!

I don't understand the fascination with bottled water. I've drunk the town water in Moscow and never had a problem. It actually tasted better than the water in the Australian towns I've been in.
Tap water in Russia is safe, you won't get poisoned if you drink it, and many people actually drink it without spending money to buy bottled water. But I also buy bottled water, because the tap water in my town is too hard and when boiled it forms a scale which has an unpleasant taste, but some of my neighbors don't mind it at all
There will be no health problems from Moscow water, but it tastes disgusting and leaves scale on the kettle. In a good way, you either need to install a filter or buy a bottled one, which costs pennies

Hello from Bulgaria! A cool Scottish dude in the great Russia ! I’ve been couple of times in Scotland in the high lands and Edinburgh as well ! My favourite country’s , Bulgaria of course, Russia and Scotland!.. good job mate , keep living your life in Russia , Russian soul is so deep !..
At least she is not in Canada. Housing prices are getting through the roof here. We can't wait to get rid of this inept government. October of 2025 can't come soon enough.

Typical flats you will find in cheaper panel or block buildings of 5-14 floors, built in 1950-1980 (average dates) in so called ‘sleeping areas’. Also you’ll find such type of buildings closer to the city center, second reason why it’s so expensive. Thanks for the video, it’s always interesting to see Stalinki inside!

They believe they’re watched even when abroad. I used to think that was paranoia, but I don’t anymore! Because I too am watched whether we’re in U.K. or in France. That’s just the way it is at the moment.
Your friends in Russia told you that they're being watched?? 🤔 Or those in Kent? And who watches you in UK and France? PS: my rent near Los Angeles is almost your rent in those 2 places, and I only have a very small room, no kitchen!
Your beautiful wood parquet flooring is amazing!!!!
That is a nice apartment, And one thing I have to mention is the nice thick doors.
That really makes a difference!
They have thought through the building design, Unlike most flats in the UK.
Your own space doesn't feel like your own space unless you have your peace! ^ ^
I am not sure what is a typical apartment
but I like high ceiling in this one
Looks great. So cool you’re near that famous park ♥️
Cool!!!❤👍🏻
Thank you!
Amazing apartment!! Love it!!❤❤❤❤❤
Hmmm.. really nice appartment. Love the floors, ceilings. Big fan of older architecture. So much potential. Decor is basic but in great condition. Look comfortable. So much in extras.❤❤❤

I like how you showed us all the details nice and cozy apartment
I'm from Russia, St. Petersburg, but I've been living in the UK for a long time, I like that here people live in private houses with a garden. I live in London in 4 bedroom house with a large, beautiful garden. In St. Petersburg, I lived on the English Embankment overlooking the Neva river - this is a very beautiful place and near Alexander Park, the Hermitage and Nevsky Prospekt.
