Hahaha I was thinking the same thing. Coming from a Massachusetts resident, I was wondering if it was cheaper to live in Maine or New Hampshire, so it is nice to know, also hearing it from someone pretty
It would have to do with where in Maine you live. On the coast and southern Maine will cost more. Central and Northern would be more affordable. I live in Central Maine.
I would think your heating and energy would be way more than that. $1580 is Florida prices. It’s must be 3 to 4 times higher than that. No way that’s correct unless it’s subsidies.
Housing and Utilities are only $8,760 per year? That can't be right. That's only $730 per month. My rent alone in Washington state (west coast) is $1,800 per month then after utilities is closer to $2,000 per month.
Maybe because so many home owners are flush with cash they don't have mortgages lol. Anyways yeah this number is way off. A 2 bedroom 1 bath apartment in southern maine is around 2k a month.
@@Goodlaw86 I live in Florida. People want to live hear and the population is constantly growing, this is a big reason why its expensive here, demand. That is not true in the North East, it is growing slowly and some places are losing population, demand is not driving cost of living in the North East, it used to but not so much anylonger, its taxes, regulation and bureaucracy, that are the problems there, I know this because I grew up there and left there after 30 years. People moving to Florida from the North East and North Central to escape the cost of living in those places and enjoy the weather, a lot of people from South America, Europe and Asia, are moving here as well. A lot of the people moving here have a lot of money and over the years have pushed the cost of living way up because they come here with a lot of money inflate the market here. In essence they are tuning into where they came from. There is also way to much "investment" in property in Florida, this is a big problem as well and also pushes up the cost of living. So many homes here are second homes or investment properties. The cost of property is important because the higher it is the higher the tax and insurance bill. Here in Florida there is no income tax, though real estate taxes can be high, and insurance (do to hurricanes) is the big problem. The State of Florida has to have a balanced budget due to the constitution, so they are much more frugal with their money here. When dealing with the government it a lot easier than back in NJ, and they are actually nice to you here, which shocked me after dealing with government employees in NJ. There are Social Programs but no where near to the extent of the North East. If the Democrats ran Florida taxes would go through the roof and it would be way more expensive than it is right now.
@@Goodlaw86 Of course each city in each state is going to have different cost of living standards, but unsurprisingly for me Orlando, FL was more expensive than Bangor, ME.

Exactly, these statistics are also per person! Many factors play into these numbers as well.

She’s a cutie

Exact same pricing scenario here in Dallas.
I want to move to maine, but there are no girls to date there
Welcome to Maine! Please don't stay 😊
Expensive because they vote Democrat as do most New England States and why it is because of all the give aways to people that are none producers
Look up the cost of living in Florida. It’s crazy and it is a Republican state.

Maine sounds affordable. What is she even talking about ?
Sounds cheap to me
This is based on a very female, pro welfare, high maintenance, perspective.
Only 50K to live there. That’s not bad at all!
