Crime is low, Im happy we have Constitutional Carry here in Maine. It is a really safe state from violent crime.

I live in Lewiston, second largest city... I like how I can travel between 3 to 5 miles in any direction and have hiking trails, fishing, canoe and boat rentals and other entertainment. Between 20- 45 miles concerts, professional sports and shopping malls. And of course the ocean front towns ... gorgeous post card beauty. Been here my whole life, Im 56 ... love it!

I believe that you could add the trade labor shortage to help fix-up and maintain your home. I rent out a modest, older home in the greater Portland metro region and have a tremendously hard time finding professionals to inspect and maintain my roof, carpenters to fix wood deterioration inside and out, house painters, and lawn care help. I am the only home on my street that rents to locals on a year-round, not seasonal, basis. However, it is difficult to fix-up the house to attract long-term renters on my discounted rent ...because I cannot find pros to do the repair work. And when I do manage to find a pro, they cost an arm and a leg which is a challenge to afford on my discounted rent ... sigh, a vicious circle.

Having grown up in the area, I believe I recognize the spot where you're filming - Number 1 Pond behind you and Oscar B. Emery Drive ahead of you? I couldn't agree more that Maine has it's unique problems but the encouraging thing is that places like Sanford aren't throwing in the towel but doing everything they can with their advantages, like developing the rail trail, maintaining its riverfront, and highlighting its access to beaches. Kudos to you and Margaret for doing a really good job presenting southern Maine both as a place to live and a place to invest.

For the bug season point, unfortunately ticks exist across the country anywhere there's abundant space and wildlife. It's just something to take precautions for if you have outdoor work or hobbies. I wish we had vaccines for every form of tick paralysis and fever so people could keep their quality of life. There was briefly a vaccine for Lyme Disease but it was discontinued to due low demand and ineffective marketing.

I had four evil corrupt coveting thugs on Gardiner PD conspire to murder me before I closed escrow on my house in 10/2022. They illegally installed surveillance equipment in my house and use it to aim directional speakers and microwave weapons at me in my house. Gardiner PD installed surveillance equipment and seven directional speakers around the perimeter and broadcast into my house 24/7 on directional speakers and voice over power line communications where ac motors are used as speakers making terrorist threats and haranguing demands for wealth with microwave weapon attacks and keep me awake most of the night. The microwave weapon attacks go from feeling like I’m being cooked to stabbed with ice picks. One corrupt cop broadcast at me from the high school PA that he was going to rename me “Barthle” and shoot me “head shot”. He also told a whopping lie and called me a “cop killer” (killer cops is the reality), my son-in-law was🐰Long Beach (CA) PD when I bought my house and is now Department of Homeland Security. He also broadcast into my house he wanted someone to “plant Methode” (Methode is a company). I was a defense contractor for 25 years. Maine is talking out of both sides of its mouth: saying it wants more defense work as the “lying coveting thugs with badges” city employees are trying to kill off the other citizens as we move to Maine. The biggest crime problem is the USA are the Protection Rackets and corrupt cops have competition with organized crime and foreign organized crime.

Honestly, I've lived in Maine my whole life and I'm just so depressed and lonely here because everyone is just so introverted in the pandemic has made everything worse. There's no life here at all and to pay these expensive prices and get virtually nothing out of life is nonsensical. I'm trying to get a job overseas. I just want friends so badly. my biggest memory of my childhood...going camping with the family and go to old orchard beach for the weekend.the smell of the pine tree the electronics stores and the pizza on main street.also the cold water and the waves...the smell of the oceans.I love that place. as Canadians we loved to go there and its was so friendly we loves the Americans hospitality.
