Ah, yes, it's so tough. But imagine: a drive home that's ten minutes in July, now takes an hour and a half, due to ice and snow squalls...then you get home, fire up the wood stove, invite some friends over, and have a few glasses of whatever, and sing songs until well after it's time to go home. Cold sucks when you're alone, but it can be a great way to engage people without electronics or "influencers"...! ( Shout out to Gordon Bok, in Camden...a true "Maine Man"...AND a MAIN MAN! 👍)
Daylight Saving makes things worse I guess. What's wrong with the Sun sets down at around 5 PM in December and at around 7:30 in Summer?!! I don't get the point of Daylight Saving.
