Wild to find this video - I have a 2016 CRV at 132k miles and it's starting to really burn oil, and this is where my googling has led me. Thank you for this video, I'm going to attempt this replacement soon as it doesn't seem overly complicated.
HOW DO YOU KNOW THE PCV VALVE IS BAD ? MY HEAD GASKET IS BAD AND LIKING OIL BAD + THE ENGINE BLOWS 2 MUCH AIR PRESSURE FROM THE OIL CAP DO YOU THINK IS THE PCV CAUSING THAT ? TANK YOU FOR THE VIDIO
My 2016 crv is starting to burn oil..it has 105k on well maintained engine. It's 5k off extended warranty n I'm pissed. It smells like oil burning..it's using it..but all fluids are great..just uses oil. Gonna try the pcv valve n see if that fixes it
@pasidudissanayaka1843 what have you noticed with these cars? I undid the oil fill on the cam cover while it was running and it has a fair amount of air blowing out witch would make you think blow by but I don't know how much air the crank pushes ether so ..since I never did this trick at new I have no comparison. I did just put new ngk iridium in it...the denso still looked OK with the 105k on em. Nothing odd or signs of anything worn or cakes up...nice coloring 🤔. The original picture valve made no shake noise at 1st...then after sum 2+2 it started making the shake sound and the car seemed fine. I just purchased the new oem in it (advance auto mailed me the factory one from the app saved 10bucks with perks 😄) so time will tell. I will try n remember to re-comment about this later on
@@jasonruch3529 hey, thanks for the reply. Honestly there’s no issues yet. I’m just trying avoid these problems in the long run because I just purchased the car a week ago. It has 53,000 miles but no issues as of right now I’m just worried because many of these cars have these issues. Do you think I’ll be able to use it for a long time with no issues? I’m sure I can because many have lasted over 100-150k, these engines are notorious for burning oil just like the previous gen K24. I love the car it’s just I want to make sure everything is working in proper order. Thanks.
Ya the reason I dug into it is because of how quick the oil dirty'd. I'm gonna just keep an eye on consumption and as the wife said( change the oil sooner) ...I'm gonna do every 5k instead of 7500 if it does use it more. But you shouldn't have a problem....don't listen to the nay sayers. It's an INCREDIBLE engine...and car....I call it the go-kart because that's what it drives like. Lol. But honestly if yours gets dirty'd in 1500 miles an is a quarter of a quarter low go get yourself sum 2+2 carb cleaner and clean the pvc if you don't wanna waste the money for a new 1.....just remove the 2 o-rings before cleaning because the 2+2 will make them junk by making them expand. Honestly as long as it not blowing smoke outta the back pipe and it has lots of pep I wouldn't worry about it

No, I think that’s the head gasket. Any antifreeze in the oil or oil in the antifreeze?

Exceleration would be much better if you took the car out of Eco mode.
