Haha, sorry, I just happened to see this comment here. Without a degree though? Probably depending on where you are stuff with fire, arborist companies, logging/milling. Those are jobs where you can get a lot of specialization and certificate though. A lot of forestry related work is generally what I would consider good paying(I have pretty low standard though haha), what you can do is largely based on where you're located.
Hey I'm new subscriber I think your videos are great! Im 14 and I love nature so I was wondering if thier is anything I can do right now to prepare for a forestry career?
I saw he did not reply yet so here you go. Grain of salt: I haven't been in any forestry career, but it is my dream. So we are in the same situation, except I am in my 30s lol. From what I can gather is to work on your outdoor skills. Like hiking, backpacking, map and compass, camping and climbing (seriously go to a climbing gym, you will find mentors in the outdoor industry). Not sure if you want to join a scout venture troop, they're more hardcore than the normal scouts. Also if you're looking for a biology adjacent job; learn how to identify flora and fauna, use their Latin names, learn different types of rocks and minerals and how they are formed, the history of the study of ecology in a local area of yours. Seriously, call up your local BLM or Forest service office, and ask them if you can talk to somebody who can educate you about anything. Someone there Will like to help you. Guaranteed. I really hope this helps you out, and I wish I was that focused at your age. It's a talent to have that, So use your talent to make your life the best it can be. ✌️
