People everyday hope to get into knot tying for a number of reasons from hiking, to rock climbing, to camping, to just making their lives easier. This video goes over what I think is the absolute best and easiest knot to tie with many functions, the clove hitch.

Isn't it widely acknowledged that the Clove Hitch is secure only when both ends are under tension? The scenario involving the dumbbell was successful, yes, but it didn't seem secure, as one of the ends was not under tension. That appeared dangerous. Conversely, in the scenario with the shoes, both ends were equally tensioned by the weight of the shoes, making it a proper use case.
