Thank you brother for making this! Many Protestants highlight how the world secularizes our holidays, then label them pagan. But if you follow that flawed logic consistently, you’ll naturally slip into extreme fundamentalism where you don’t celebrate any major holidays at all, which is a half baked approach that only isolates yourself (been there, done that, learned the hard way)

There’s a verse that says come out and be separate, and also one that says be in the world, but not of the world. Do you think if we do those 2 things we’ll not be isolated? You’re free to love the world and its pagan celebrations, but you can’t have a cake and eat it too. It’s either the narrow road or the broad one.

I grew up in a weakly catechized Catholic home, and we participated in Halloween to a common, low-level degree. It wasn’t that important to us (it was just weird if you didn’t participate). We didn’t see any thing wrong with it. Now, I know better. All Hallows Eve, the Vigil (October 31st) of All Saints Feast Day - November 1st) was originally in the spring. The pope moved the Feast of All Saints to the fall in order to counteract all the demonic effects of pagan fall harvest rituals that we now call Halloween. The original idea was that heathens could dress up to disguise themselves from the evil spirits. The spirits are real, but demons aren’t so easily fooled. For a Catholic to participate in Halloween is ludicrous. Yet, I found my kids trick-or-treating at the Catholic Priest’s Rectory and all the Catholic school parents dressing kids up for their Catholic school Halloween party. I know God understands if you truly didn’t know any better, but why would you ever defend it? If keeping Halloween around is important to a person, I’d venture to say that they don’t have the best relationship with God. Stopping participation in Halloween is a good start. Have a fall feast after praying Catholic Vespers for the Vigil of the Feast of All Saints instead of dressing up as a witch and demanding candy. ❤

Yes we must live out our truth and faith and spread truth and debunk the lies that secularism and some Protestants have been spreading around for some time now. Great video you did a great job explaining everything especially All Hallows Eve, but another way people might remember the meaning of Hallow is like in the Bible in the book of Mathew when it mentions “Hallowed be thy name” meaning holy is thy name (referencing God) and holy is saintly.

I wonder what idea about the origin of Halloween is more offensive to Protestants. Catholic, pagan or occultic. I guess none is good... 🤔
Yet they seem to not talk about the Catholic origin as much.
Thank you for the explanation! We don't celebrate Halloween where I am from (though it has been introduced here lately) but All Saints Day and also the All Souls Day when we traditionally go to cemeteries to honor our deceased loved ones and we offer prayers for the souls in purgatory, indulgences specifically for them can be obtained for the whole 8 days.

It doesn’t matter that it’s offensive to Protestants or anyone else. It matters that it’s offensive to Jesus Christ. He’s the one who will judge, not the other denominations. He will judge you all for following the satanic lies and not doing your research. “Catholic, occult, pagan all satanic and all offensive to God.

I looked through your videos, and I don’t believe I saw you cover the subject, but forgive me if you already have.
I grew up in a Seventh-day Adventist house my family have belong to the church since its founding. The family members who left the church, still attend, Sabbath, keeping churches, although most of my family are still SDA.
For them me becoming Catholic is a very big deal since I am now a Sabbath breaker. I do say a prayer every Sabbath with my family. Thanking God for his creation and giving us rest from work but of course I attend mass on Sunday and that is my main day observance.
Do you have any wisdom, or thoughts that you could share with me or in a video to help show them? It’s OK to go to church on Sunday .

    • @roseg1333
      @roseg1333 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

Well Saturday vas the Sabbath in the Old Testament and the old covenant. Once Jesus fulfilled the old covenant and started the new one all those old traditions were no longer viable. Similar to why we no longer kill a pure lamb for our sins to be forgiven (like the Jewish people of the old covenant did) God was the ultimate sinless lamb that died so all our sins could be forgiven. Saturday was the old Sabbath Sunday became the new Sabbath in the new covenant. Also in many languages Sunday is translated into day of God ie Domingo in Spanish the root word means day of God. I hope this helps a little and gives you a place to start your research. God be with you 🙏🏼🕊️✝️❤️🙏🏼

I have found that people with this fixed idea about Saturday Sabbath for Christians are among the most argumentative and hostile Protestants towards the Catholic Faith. You might look for some videos by Dr. Brant Pitre (Catholic Productions), Dr. John Bergsma, Dr. Scott Hahn, or Catholic Answers videos or articles online, that touch on this subject, explaining “The Lord’s Day,” Sunday, the day when Jesus rose, and His numerous post-Resurrection appearances on the first day of the week. Keep praying for your family, and be a faithful Catholic.

Not quite true. Samhain was an Irish pagan holy day. The Irish upon becoming Catholic still embraced Samhain in a non religious way and brought this attitude to America. Halloween is something the Irish adopted from Rome. Samhain is the modern Irish language word for November.

There is a book called From Rome to Jerusalem. Would love it if Trent or another Catholic apologist would read it and comment on it afterwards. It has been said that a bishop in Florida, head over 17 Catholic Churches, read the book and converted to Oneness Pentecostalism. Also, a few priests under said bishop were also converted. If you are Catholic, I highly recommend it, and would love to hear feedback on what you think. Cheers.

I’m assuming that you mean the one by D.G. Hanscomb, based on your description? There’s another book with the same title with the author telling his story of conversion to Judaism instead.
That said, I would be interested in a response for either book about this.

I’m a Jewish convert to the Catholic Faith. I had a dramatic conversion experience like St. Paul, and I gave my life to the Lord Jesus, who led me to the Catholic Church. I know that the Catholic Church is the Church that Jesus founded. He told us plainly that the wheat and the tares will not be separated until the last day. The Church is a hospital for sinners. It has never stopped teaching the Truth handed down from the Apostles, regardless of the foibles and sins of its members, whatever their position in the hierarchy or in the pews.
Having said that, I looked up the books you mentioned. I read dozens of reviews, and have come to the conclusion that it’s typical anti-Catholic propaganda. From what the reviewers said, apparently the book debunks the New Testament, and basically throws away what Jesus taught, even the Trinity, because if even a part of the New Testament is untrue, then none of it can be trusted - including the entire life, death, and resurrection of Jesus, and every word He spoke, including His claim to be the Messiah. So if you’re throwing out the Jesus of the Bible, there are no grounds to even believe in Him at all. He might as well have never existed., and you might as well return to the Old Covenant and resume keeping the 613 commandments.
Personally, I am not going to waste my time reading either one of those two books, as I know with absolute certainty that Jesus is real, He’s alive, He loves me, and He changed my life in one instant. He led me to the Catholic Church, which is truly the Church He founded and guaranteed to be the pillar and foundation of the truth, regardless of oftentimes weak and sinful human beings, even those with evil intentions. There have also been innumerable Saints, holy men and women, martyrs, and gloriously faithful, pure examples of what God can do through His Church, to those who have faith and follow Him unreservedly according to the teachings of His Church: Scripture, the Magisterium, and Sacred Tradition.
May God bless you as you continue your discernment.
