I converted back in the 80's. It's a never ending process of refinement and learning. Not an 'easy' life, but one in which God is waiting for you after every fall, and ultimately at the end of your journey. God bless!

Happy Anniversary Daniel. 🥳 5-30pm Saturday Mass is considered Sunday by the Church as we use the Jewish calendar, new day starts at sundown. Sunday Mass is also a non-negotiable in our family, all our extended family/friends know this and it hasn't cramped our social life. No thing and nobody comes before Mass.

I’m a cradle Catholic, who has never lived up to the fullness of the faith, but I’ll keep trying. My wife was raised in reformed Judaism, your channel has truly helped me understand my faith and has helped me better understand the Jewish roots of the church. I’m so happy I can teach my children about their Jewish roots in the formation of their Catholic faith. Thank you for sharing your experience!

One of the beauties of being catholic, besides the sacraments, is the sacramental. My daily life is permitted by sacranwntals: the sign of the cross, the crucifix, the rosary, candles, incense, etc -- oh, & the Holy water 💧 that has had the devil beat out of it. I'm telling you, that gives life so much meaning, purpose & peace to the soul. Viva Cristo Rey!

I am a baby catholic - converted from Hebrew Roots this Easter vigil - it is still very new to me. I have been in the church for almost a year, but after growing up Lutheran, hen been in a more Pentecostal church for about 5 years, and 6 years in Hebrew Roots - this was the last place I was expecting God to lead me 😊 Thank you so much for your videos, they are very helpful!!!! God bless! Shalom!

Thank you very much for your channel and the work that you do💓And congratulations for your 1st year as a Catholic!! 🎉💐🕊

I am a cradle Catholic from Germany and I slowly found my way back to the faith from 2020 onwards. For me it's specifically diffcult, because I am struggling a lot with obesity and being bullied for the majority of school. Which resulted in me thinking I was queer. I only recently started to work on myself. And the Catholic Faith helped me so much actually discussing things that were troubling me about myself.

Congratulations! I do want to say that I feel bad about how you have been treated by fellow Catholics. It is complete ignorance they display. If I met you personally, I would be so excited and would ask you to share your testimony with me. We should be proud to welcome anyone home to the Catholic Church. A small note, my mom would wear a Star of David with her cross. A protestant questioned her about it and my mom told her that the Jewish faith is the root of Christianity. 💥😇

Regarding impious Catholics, TH-cam has a large percentage of Christians who are ignorant not only of the intellectual elements of their faith, but it's moral demands. it is hardly representative of the Christian community at large, or of Catholics in particular. I used to take umbrage, but I switched to a policy of love and gentle remonstrance. Perhaps, I reasoned, I can best explain Catholic piety and beliefs by modeling them in action. I also pray for people who are less catechized, lack self control, are unempathetic or are threatened by what they don't understand. It's a common problem not only among Catholics on line, but among Christians in general. Just my $.02.

Welcome and congratulations to you! Your Jewish roots are so important. How we worship as Catholics, the instruments, the prayers, the tabernacle, etc. all come from our Jewish brothers and sisters. How the Old Testament and New Testament proves the Catholic faith as the fulfillment of the Jewish faith. God bless you! I am so excited to watch all of your videos, and so happy that I found you today. Peace to you!

I just came across your channel and I instantly subscribed. First of all, as a cradle Catholic, I am very sorry to hear about the treatment that you've received from fellow Catholics who have verbally attacked you and casted doubt on your faith and goodwill. Let us pray for them. I have been a lapsed catholic during my late-teen years and early 20s, and only now in my late 20s-early 30s, am I reclaiming my Catholic faith. So, I am happy to hear when someone discovers the calling to be Christian from inside their heart (even more so the calling to become Catholic). I am a lay Catholic from the Archdiocese of Jakarta (the capital city of a Muslim-majority country), and I still live here. Living here as a Catholic minority has its own challenges, maybe different challenges than those living in a Christian or Catholic majority country, or even a de-facto secular country. To my fellow Catholics who doubt or dislike this man's proclaiming his Catholic faith despite also being Jewish, I think It would do us all good to return to the gospels and remember what Jesus told us (this is only from the top of my mind, there are probably more):
    1. Matthew 15:22-28 "The Faith of a Canaanite Woman"
    2. Matthew 10:5-6 "Jesus Sends Out the Twelve Apostles"
    3. Mark 12:10 "The Parable of the Tenants"
My point is that Jesus came originally for the 12 tribes of Israel and in so doing he also became the Living God for all the nations. We Catholics must pray for our Jewish brothers and sisters whose ancestors may have rejected the cornerstone, that they may return to accept Him, thus accepting He who has sent the Son.
Lastly, being a Jewish Catholic and living in Japan, you must have an amazing story! Keep up the good work with the channel and let us hope to grow together in our faith. I pray that God will always keep you and your family. Amen.

As a son, grandson, nephew and cousin of sincere and faithful Baptist Pastors, I came across the teaching of the Church Fathers and that was a game changer. I became a Catholic last October 9th 2022. I share many of your experiences and thoughts. Thank you. As my DNA test showed, I have Sephardic and Ashkenazi Jewish roots (shoreshin) so I perfectly understand what you mean. Considering that Jesus and the Apostles were Jews, we are in good company.

Your negative experiences with your fellow Catholics are shocking to me, Daniel. I’m so sorry to hear it. From the first day I set foot in a Catholic church, in 1990, I’ve been warmly welcomed, and marveled over, by so many Catholics. I have never heard a negative remark from anyone about my Jewishness, in all these years. Whenever I have told people at church I’m Jewish, they invariably respond by saying, “Our Blessed Mother was Jewish,” or some other friendly comment.
I will say that the Lord tested me in some ways, but not in that way. After my dramatic conversion experience, I was very on fire for Jesus, super-enthusiastic and excited. When I showed up at RCIA every week with a new story - “You won’t believe what Jesus did for me this week,” - the four team leaders and two priests would cringe, knowing that they’d be pestered with questions from some of the 32 others in the class, like, “Does Jesus really do things like that?” Of course, I was oblivious, because I thought every Catholic or would-be Catholic had experiences like I did. At one point the team leaders and priests tried to persuade me that I’d be “happier at Hope Chapel,” which was some kind of new-fangled Christian church. I refused to leave, saying, ”Look, it took an Act of God to get me into this Church, it will take an Act of God to get me out. I’m not leaving.” They were stuck with me, but they did make me wait, so I was not received at the Easter Vigil with my classmates, but six months later, by myself, at a Daily Mass. It was actually wonderful. Everyone lined up to give me a hug, and many gave me gifts. After Mass, a huge group of us went out for breakfast.
Along the way I learned that whatever happens to me is God’s Will, and thankfully, the Lord gave me the grace to say, “Fiat,” and not get upset. I would sometimes think about King David, when he was being cursed and insulted by Shimei, a foreshadowing of Our Lord’s suffering, and David’s response when his bodyguard wanted to defend him. “Leave him alone. The Lord told him to say that.”
So that’s what I think about the negative experiences you have gone through. The Lord has given you the opportunity to experience rejection, insults, and hatred, just as Jesus Himself did. Your attackers meant it for evil, but God meant it for good. (Gen 59:20) It will strengthen your faith. God bless!

I appreciate and love it so much. Also, since I have been researching the faith more and finding out about all of the Jewish roots, I am now buying Jewish books and reading up on the first Christians. What a fascinating journey you are on.
I can’t understand how anyone who understand the roots of our faith could be critical of your channel name. Our faith blossomed into its fullness from the Jewish tradition. We continue the priesthood that had been in the Temple, we continue the methods of public penance like covering our heads in ashes, our tabernacle which carries the new Arc of the Covenant and the red temple lamp that stands beside it.
I can only tell you that they are operating from a place of ignorance and you seem to be exercising charity. You wouldn’t be really Catholic if you didn’t get smacked around on all sides. We get it from atheists, Protestants, and other Catholics. Welcome to the family. ❤️

Congratulations! I've been Catholic for 4 years. I don't understand the negativity you've received. Catholicism is simply the continuation and fulfillment of Judaism. They are inseparable (Jesus, Mary, Josep, and all the Apostles where Jews). I prayed Psalms at the Western Wall and in the caves along side Jews. I visited the Great Synagogue and saw the Dead Sea Scrolls. And yes, I even went to Temple Mount to see where it once stood. A Jewish Catholic to me is someone who has the fullness of truth and KNOWS IT fowards and backwards! 😁

A recomendation: You should look into Fr James Mawdsley, who has recently been talking a lot about how everything of the New Testament is prefigured in the Old Testament.
Also, i hope you understand why many Catholics have a negative knee-jerk reaction to any jewish aesthetic. (not accusing you of it as I don't really know you) Judaizing has always been a very real and persistent problem in the Church's history, which at times might have resulted in Catholics in general preferring to take more distance from traditions that come directly from the Old Testament than perhaps strictly necessary. A good example is circumcision which while not heretical per se, is heretical if you believe it justifies you in any manner, so the more prudential act is to stay away from it altogether. Protestantism has many Judaizing factors, Protestant ministers are closer to Jewish Rabbis than they are to Catholic Priests.
Anyway, I do believe that it would do you good to speak with a Priest that has deep knowledge of the Old Testament to get a clearer picture of when/where you might be straying a bit too far. Don't forget the Talmud was compiled with a heavy emphasis on rejecting Christ, so while not necessarily everything in there is wrong, it's not that safe either either and does contain blasphemies against Christ and the Blessed Mother.

If only the latin language had not been taken away from the mass, against the prescriptions of Vatican II itself, we would have the same mass everywhere and noboty should look for a mass in their own language when abroad.
Personally, when I am abroad, I attend mass in the local language, because you can respond in your own language if you have a missal , or even if you haven't it, the mass has the same structure everywhere, you can figure out what to respond and when. The only thing you can't understand is the homiy, but most important of all, you can take the eucharist whatever the language.

I have never converted so I cannot say I am Jewish, so the most I can say is that I have Jewish religious belief system. (When I was little my mother told me, when I asked "What is God?", "I can only tell you what God is to me and when you grow up you will have to figure out what Got is to you.)

I think the Jewish people and the Irish share a similar sense of humor, and perhaps a somewhat feisty temperament as well. As a Jewish convert to the Catholic Faith, I have to say that most of my closest Catholic friends have been at least part Irish. I’ve been Catholic now for 33 years. From Day One, Catholics have always welcomed me warmly, with friendly comments about the Blessed Mother and Jesus being Jewish. I’ve never heard a negative remark about my Jewishness in all these years. On the contrary, my fellow Catholics are always fascinated and eager to hear the story of my conversion. Just thought I’d share a little positivity. with you. Have a blessed day 😊

I sincerely do not understand how a Jewish person can be catholic. Have you read the the Jewish Bible. Please understand that Catholics are not Christians. Catholics have placed the virgin Mary above Yeshua. The sacrifice Yeshua every Sunday service with the Eucharist. They teach that the wind they drink is really His blood and the bread they eat is actually the flesh of Yeshua. This happens every single service. Why are you at a Catholic Church? Do you receive Yeshua as your Messiah, if so go to a messianic church or a Christian one. Please look into this more and pray earnestly. I beg you

      1. the NT is Catholic, CC put it together in 382AD at Council of Rome and rejected dozens of letters/epistles/"gospels". How do you know Catholic clergy got the contents of NT right?
      2. Messianics are Protestant Karaites. To walk with Christ is to enter into the covenant. The Torah Shebaal Peh is not a man-made tradition, but is the authentic teaching of G-d to Moses on Mt. Sinai. It is the Torah Shebaal Peh which gives meaning and context to the written scripture. Modern Protestant Messianic Jewish Movement denies Sacred Tradition which is required to give context and meaning to scripture. So, Jewish accusation made against these groups as being Karaites is justified. This movement attract those who have fallen into Karaitism.
In fact, every protestant is a Karaite. Where did Karaitism begin? It began among the Samaritans living at the very northern most area which bisected Phoenician territory to the East and Syria to the west. So, the woman who was called a Syro-Phonecian was a Samaritan from this area. Jewish Rabbis in the past have call Karaites "Meir Kelev" (being worth the price of a dog).
When Christ encounters the Syro-Phonecian woman he says “Suffer first the children to be filled: for it is not good to take the bread of the children, and cast it to the dogs." from Mark. Matthew also mentions her but calls her a Cannanite woman (but the Cannanites were vanquished during the First Temple period and later that territory was given to the Samaritans during the Second Temple period). The Karaites deny the Torah Shebaal Peh in the same manner as Messianics deny Sacred Tradition.
      3. We do not place Mary above Jesus, she is the ark of the new covenant and our Gebirah so she is given the same due honor of the original ark . Mary had free will to say "no" to archangel Gabriel, she said 'yes'. There are no humans Jesus loved more than Mary and Joseph, anyone who tarnishes or insults those two will have to answer directly to Jesus.
      4. No we don't re-sacrifice Jesus every Sunday, every Sunday we are mystically transported back to the foot of the cross and the upper room. Similar to the jews who are mystically transported back in time every passover.

I beg you watch Daniel's video on his faith journey from Pantecostal, Baptist, other denominations, messinaic judaism, rabbinic judaism and end up being Catholics. I assume that Daniel read more religious books than many of us. Cheers.

You are completely misinformed about the Catholic Faith. I feel sorry for you. You have been lied to.
I’m a Jewish convert to the Catholic Faith. I had a powerful conversion experience like St. Paul, and I fell in love with Jesus the moment I encountered Him. Jesus founded one Church. The early Church was first called Catholic, meaning universal, in the year 110 AD. The only Christians for the first 1500 years of the Church were Catholic. The Church Father and successor of St. Peter, St. Ignatius of Antioch, in the year 110 AD, said that anyone who rejected the belief that the Eucharist is the same flesh of Christ that suffered, died, and rose for us, should not even be considered a Christian. By this definition, Protestants wouldn’t even qualify as Christians.
“Take note of those who hold heterodox opinions on the grace of Jesus Christ which has come to us, and see how contrary their opinions are to the mind of God. . . . They abstain from the Eucharist and from prayer because they do not confess that the Eucharist is the flesh of our Savior Jesus Christ, flesh which suffered for our sins and which that Father, in his goodness, raised up again. They who deny the gift of God are perishing in their disputes” (Letter to the Smyrnaeans 6:2-7:1 [A.D. 110]).
Your idea that Catholics believes that Mary is above Jesus is beyond ridiculous. I never heard such a thing in 33 years as a Catholic. Mary is a human being. Jesus is God Incarnate, the Second Person of the Blessed Trinity. The Catholic Church is Christocentric.
Jesus gave us the Eucharist as a command, at the Last Supper. The Eucharist is the New Covenant. “This is the New Covenant in My Blood.”He Himself is the new manna, the supernatural food He gives us to sustain us on our journey to the Promised Land.
You are missing out on the greatest grace Our Lord and Savior has given us. The antidote to the poisonous fruit of disobedience that our first parents ate in the Garden of Eden is the Holy Eucharist, the fruit of Yeshua’s loving obedience to His Father, His death and resurrection for the life of the world. God bless you as you continue your journey.

The Beauty of the Catholic Church “drew us in” and then reading the Early Church Fathers helped us come back into the church.
    * Brant Pitre’s book the Jewish Roots of the Eucharist was EXTREMELY helpful in our reversion/conversion. So thankful we found your channel.
