      @@jasminemariedarlingTo pray the Rosary is to meditate in the life of Christ. In this meditation, you are infusing yourself with Jesus, as Mama Mary, intercedes for us to Him. In prayer, heaven is open to us (like in the mystery of the transfiguration of Christ).
      When I was a child, I used to feel weightless, almost like levitating, after praying the Rosary with my father.

    @The Jewish Catholic: We actually have that miracle of the Rosary in our own history itself in our Country, the Philippines... just like in Lepanto, The Spanish-Filipino troops won in their battle against the Protestant Dutch Invaders in 1646 in which take note, they were only using 2 old galleon ships. While at the Battle the Filipino and Spanish Troops continue to pray the Rosary and despite the strenghts of the Dutch ships which are about to invade the Philippines, all the 5 battles were won by the Spanish-Filipino Troops. As their vow, they walk barefooted from the shore to the Church of Old Santo Domingo in Intramuros (Unfortunately that Church was destroyed after WWII- the present site of the Santo Domingo Church is now in Quezon City) as a thanksgiving for the Victory given to them through the intercession of Our Lady. All of these was investigated by Ecclesiastical authorities in 1657 and in 1652, it was declared a miracle by the Venerable Dean and Chapter and Ecclesiastical Governor of Manila. Today this is being commemorated as the Feast of "La Naval de Manila" held every 2nd Sunday of October.

      @@reginapontes5672 what has Luke 1:28 gotta do with prayer to Mary? It's just a verse showing an angel appear to Mary and greeting her. It's not a prayer. Even if I continue to read verse 30 to 33, they are not prayer to Mary too. It's just an angel speaking to Mary telling her who Jesus was.
      So may I ask, why are you praying to Mary again?

    When a person hears someone praying the rosary, he or she covers her ears and refuse to open their hearts.
    When a person starts to pray the rosary, even if he is not Catholic, and his or her heart opens to the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus through the rosary, it becomes a sweet food being chewed slowly.

    "But when you pray, use not vain repetitions" - the key word is "vain", there no issue with repetitive prayer as long as it's not vain.

    • @Nick-rb1dc
      @Nick-rb1dc ปีที่แล้ว +4

      The *only* Bible translation to say "vain repetition" (Mt6.7) is the King James Version. No other Bible says this. Why? Because the actual Greek word says NOTHING about repetition and nothing about vain. The KJV translation invented "vain repetition" because it was an anti-catholic Bible and this is how they attacked the Rosary.
      The Church Fathers said it was unnecessary use of ‘many words’ (Augustine, Tertullian, Cyprian) or praying for ‘unsuitable requests’ like asking God for worldly things like fame and fortune (Origen, Chrysostom, Gregory Nyssa).
      Jesus says: Matt 6:7 When you pray, do not ‘heap up empty phrases’ as the *Gentiles* do, for they think that they will be heard for their many words. 8 Do not be like them, for >>your Father knows what you need>your heavenly Father knows that you need

    Thank you so much for this video! I would love to hear you talk more about the Rosary and how it has improved your spiritual life and relationship to God. I am a cradle Catholic but have always struggled with the Rosary. Sadly, I have tried several times to begin praying it daily but for some reason or other I always end up abandoning it 😢. The last few times I tried I was influenced by a friend of mine who is Protestant and planted the seed of doubt in my head, making me wonder if in fact, like you were saying, it was actually idolatrous or offensive to God like she said it was. I have prayed and will continue to pray that God will show me if it pleases him or not. 🙏

      Preserve with the rosary, even if you only pray one decade a day to begin with, meditating on the various mysteries of the life of Jesus.Aim to pray 5 decades a day which you can do while driving, walking etc & it brings great peace.
      Mary will always protect you & draw you closer to her son. Ignore ignorant Protestant who don’t know what they’re talking about & I suspect, are jealous of our devotion. As a previous commenter said, why wouldn’t be respect the mother of Jesus, the New Eve, the Ark of the New Covenant & Queen of heaven (type of Esther)
      Catholicism has great wisdom ie BOTH/AND rather than Protestantisms narrow world view EITHER/OR.
      Also you might find reading introduction to Christian philosophy useful as it helps our thinking process & wisdom.

    Here's what every non-Catholic need to understand: if you truly love the Lord Jesus, you do not malign or disrespect His mother the same way you would do to your friend's mother. Instead, you will honor one of His last words - "Woman, behold thy son; SON, BEHOLD THY MOTHER". Jesus gave us His mother to be our mother. That the immaculate vessel of the Lord Jesus who is Mary, in her patronage, we too may become like the saints and journey in the path towards Jesus. That we may allow Mary in our lives to be our spiritual mother and take us up to her womb; the same womb who carried and bore the seed that would crush the head of the serpent and through her motherly care and guidance, we may be purified and born again in spirit to be worthy brothers and sisters to Jesus Christ like the saints have before us. PROTESTANTS ungratefully fail to acknowledge that we wouldn't have Jesus had Mary not accepted by her choice the holy conception so that the Word was made flesh. NO DOUBT, No one comes to the Father except through Jesus. But no one goes to Jesus without honoring thy mother. You do not eat in the Lord's table and throw His mother under the bus!

      The blessing is a consecration. It is almost like a spiritual legal formality that means that the item (or home or even person) is set apart to glorify God and to be used for a holy purpose.

    Jesus says: Matt 6.7 When you pray, do not ‘heap up empty phrases’ as the *Gentiles* do, for they think that they will be heard for their many words. 8 Do not be like them, for >>your Father knows what you need>your heavenly Father knows that you need

    There's something strange about the rosary : You have to pray the Hail Mary 10 times and 1 time the our Father (etc..). But Jesus didn't say "pray the Hail Mary". No He said pray the Our Father. The Hail MAry was invented by the catholic church. How can Mary be 10 times more important then Jesus/Our Heavenly Father ? It should be at least the other way round. !!!

    • @geoffjs
      @geoffjs 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The rosary is not strange, your understanding of it is. The rosary is Christological with meditation on the various aspects of the life of Jesus ie Joyful, Sorrowful, Glorious & Luminous. Yes, we do pray a larger amount of Hail Marys, but that is how the rosary has developed & half of each Hail Mary is biblical Lk 1. Mary, as the mother of Jesus, intercedes for us, so is as or more effective compared to praying directly to the Father. Myself & many Catholics can vouch for that intercession because the rosary has played a large role in our spiritual lives.

      There is no “Catholic Jew worship place”. The Church is one. There are parishes in Israel that use Hebrew because that’s the common tongue there. There is a Maronite Rite that uses Aramaic like Yeshua would have. But the Church itself is the true and authentic continuation and fulfillment of the Ancient Faith of the Hebrews.

    3:42 It's more like using many words to _really explain_ things to God, kind of making a nervous speech.
    While the Latin concentrates on the symptom (multiloquium), the Greek (battologein) uses a metaphor which goes for the root cause "stutterspeak" is simply speaking like a nervous person.

    • @TheJewishCatholic
      @TheJewishCatholic  ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Shalom. The more accurate fulfillment of the Ark of the Covenant is actually Miriam the Mother of our Lord. She bore within her womb the Word of God (Torah), the True High Priest (the rod of Aaron), and the Bread which came down from heaven (the Manna). She was also preserved from sin, just as the old art was incorruptible due to being made of gold and acacia wood. For more confirmation read Luke chapter 1, 2 Samuel chapter 6, and Revelation 11:19-12:1. You can also read the book “Jesus and the Jewish Roots of Mary” by Dr. Brant Pitre
