    Thank you Daniel. The bronze serpent was a holy icon, it healed people when they gazed on it but later the Israelites worshipped it that's when they were guilty of idolatry. The icon itself was not an idol, it was the peoples behaviour that convicted them of idolatry. We are so close to ancient Judaism thats why Protestants don't understand us.

      @@TheJewishCatholicSo you all are saying that the rosaries that are made by the hands of man are uses to destroy Satan.....lol. If Jesus had to use the word of God A BUNCH OF beads with words used to A Mary is not from God. Ordering items from a factory can't be used on spiritual demons .... CATHOLISM IS SUCH A WASTE. Those men are going to hell for misleading you all. Oh which color scapula did Jesus and His Bros used? 😂😂. Insane

      @@TheJewishCatholicEuropean Caucasian man religion. Sir you are being brainwashed. Jews too. You should be ashamed of yourself. Go back to Pentacostalism or Judaism. Get out of that Catholism RELIGION. ACCURSED DOCTRINE. Jesus specifically taught AGAINST this religion. I don't even know why you would leave your Jewish traditions and HIS original people customs to a white man RELIGION. bro. Ridiculous.

    Great explanation. When I was younger and into weightlifting, I had various magazines and other imagery that promoted weightlifting. The intent, was to surround myself with it so it could serve as a constant reminder of the results that I was seeking. It wasn’t that I idolized these men, it was simply a tool to stay disciplined and focused. I do the same with religious art. Thank you for sharing your thoughts on the subject, I couldn’t agree more.

    The Latin Mass is a treasure that we must take care of. I grew up in the eighties, so I only knew the Novus Ordo Missae (and it always seemed boring to me, a kind of empty performance, but it is true that I had no faith at that time) A couple of years ago, after a radical conversion, the Holy Spirit led me to the traditional mass. I felt that I had access to heaven! With the liturgical reform in the sixties, part of the mystery, solemnity and silence that helps so much to connect with transcendental reality was lost. I recommend watching the documentary "A perfect storm - Mass of the Ages- episode 2" to know the motivations and results of those changes.

    My wife comes from a Baptist/non-denominational family, and in interacting with them and their church I’ve noticed a sort of semi-Gnosticism that while not rejecting the incarnation rejects any continuance of it through the Sacraments, and sacramentals.

    I wonder where the excessive spiritualization and iconoclasm that is so prevalent in much of Protestantism originated when Christianity from its origins has always been a very incarnated religion, the physical body and senses being very important.
    I have three children and it's the physical items and images that helped them relate to Jesus, Mary, etc. since they were very little. My youngest used to pray with icons and the family crucifix since he was 1yr old.

    • @barborazajacova7633
      @barborazajacova7633 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@po18guy yes that may be right, to keep the identity of Protestantism they need to constantly keep emphasizing the differences. Still, I'm curious about this overspiritualization. Everything must be only symbolic (like the Eucharist or other sacraments, even baptism is considered a mere symbol with no real power in some branches of Evangelical Protestantism), no icons, no images, at least not of the Catholic kind. No admitting of the role of our own works in salvation. Everything seems to be so divorced from the physical in their theology. Actually when I look at the practice I think it doesn't really reflect the teachings. But where does this theological thinking come from when it's clearly divorced from the Jewish and even Christian roots of the faith.

    I'm a Christian, I'd say non-denominational, because I find that I do see at least some truth in all of the Churches. I believe in Jesus and what He did for all, I believe in the Bible, because its where you can find the truth.
    I find that a lot of catholic teachings aren't found in the Bible so I wanted to ask all my brothers and sisters in Christ that are Catholic, what does the Church and Pope say is the way to salvation and eternal life with Jesus?

    • @TheJewishCatholic
      @TheJewishCatholic  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The Church, which through Sacred Tradition put together what you know as the Bible, believes Jesus of Nazareth to be the Way, the Truth and the Life. The Faith is simple, but it is also deep and rich. I would advise you to learn what the Church believes and teaches through the Catechism of the Catholic Church. It is a compendium based on Sacred Scripture and Sacred Tradition that explains the Faith.

      @@TheJewishCatholic okay I see, this is in no way meant to offend, I just believe that parts of the sacraments and certain doctrines are seemingly detached or made in a way that implies that we aren't 100% saved by grace through faith.
      I find the teachings interesting but they only pertain to the traditional side of teachings and not what is found in the word. I think that the Eucharist, purgatory, keeping Sunday and not Saturday, prayers to Mary and the saints, and confession to priests are the practices I find to be the most out of line in the teachings of the church opposed to the Bible.
      I beleive in grace through faith, and that faith without works is dead, so our faith is expressed by our works but we are not saved by them, which I believe the Church does too if I'm not mistaken. It's a very Biblical teaching, so it makes sense to me, the Bible teaches us to test against the Word of God, and not to trust men, so if the teachings aren't Biblical then I don't see why they should be followed regardless of how long they have been traditionally observed.
      Acts 5:29 KJV
      Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.
      1 Thessalonians 5:21 KJV
      Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.
      Again I mean no ill will, I want to understand, and be able to talk with others and know that I have all the perspectives and teachings. God bless you brother.

    Obvious you’ve not met your fellow Catholics in countries where statue worship is rampant, at the same time they practice superstitions and other stuff like horoscopes and so on. You need to focus on shepherding your own flock, teaching them what Catholicism truly stands for instead of addressing Protestants who read the Bible more than any other groups.
    Most Catholics I know are confused but they don’t know it, they don’t even know what their own church teaches. Focus on educating your own first. You keep on pointing fingers on what’s wrong with Protestism but it’s not really their beliefs but your experience, I am now telling you the real deal experience with real deal majority of Catholics who have no fear and are bold to practice what are clearly forbidden in the Bible.
