Thank you so much for the shout out! It was a blast to run through the basics of Adventure Creator with you. You're in a full out sprint now! The game looks so good. Can't wait to see more!

This looks FANTASTIC!!! I just have to say the backgrounds look really nice and so atmospheric - the rain in that one room, and the yellowish light at the top of the garage area, and the blurry foreground objects it all looks so cool! Great job!

Congrats, mate! Looks lovely and I get the feeling there's going to be a lot of attention to detail in the world you're creating. Looking forward to seeing more!

Awesome, it's amazing when you can finally see the results of hard work on screen in a real tangible way.
The snowball is now rolling, looking forward to seeing it get bigger as you roll down the hill to release!

I'm actually starting, at this point, to get pretty excited for the game myself, which means that I am going to commit the mortal sin of constructive criticism based on opinion:
Your backgrounds are SO nice, that they actually make your characters look shoddy. I know this dev log is a few months old at this point, meaning that you've probably gone even deeper into these character designs and animations, but things just look so bloody fantastic overall that I think it might be worth it, in the end, to go back and either redo all of your character art and animations, or at least polish them up with some heavy revisions. I'd hate to see an otherwise A+ game be dragged by B- characters, and this is more than just a "quality of life" thing:
Your marketing is going to show these characters. Your backgrounds look like a proper indie developer team, but the characters look like an old Newgrounds flash animation.
To be clear, I still want to buy and play the game, but randos are going to be judging this based on the game's isolated merits, not by your TH-cam channel, your personality, or the game's potential. "No, seriously, it gets good!"
That's not going to cut it.
Plus, I think I personally would have a lot more fun with it if I liked the character art more, and based on your art at large, I'm confident you could improve them. Maybe not right now, and maybe not ever, fine, it's your game and it's not my intention to step on toes. If I were being paid to advise, however, this is what I'd suggest.

Haha really a shame they're only tomato plants. This game is looking cozy AF and the humorous writing compliments the atmosphere.

The ui and art all look excellent so far. Well done mate looking great. Unity adventure creator always looks too complicated to me compared to AGS.. Maybe needs another look at for my next project. Good luck mate.

I noticed a little typo: "who's car" should be "whose car"

Lookin' good! Like you've said in another video those small little details, if he picks up things correct or such. Well, what about Thimbleweed Park? There some characters pushes buttons that are not even near the characters hand, cause the artist had drawn them probably sorta like a "normal human being sized room bell". Ha ha, and who cared? Nobody else have pointed it out. I thought that pickup animation that you've done in the video near the car is done, i was convinced. I myself have not programmed 95% of the game, so that's what i need to do (Adventure Game Studio). Covid keeps you locked up anyway. I've focused much more on art and animations (pixelart P&C, think Thimbleweed Park 2, perhaps). You can go to instagram and search for maxfury_official and you'll see for yourself. Anyways last time i was in here art was not so good, now it's looking like you've found your art style, how great for you!
I think the strategy you've had about doing half assed rooms is actually really good. That reminds me of when i do music. I do small sketches of songs, half assed, then i go into little details, and not focusing on the "bigger picture" by then. Instead i do "mini goals" i've set for myself, to not get overwhelmed by all work. Like forexample my upcoming pixelart music video (hence why i haven't programmed or done anything on my game for the last 8-9months!). There i had so much little pixelart details i wanted to do. So one day i focused on finishing one pose, the other day syncing it up with the music, etc. That's when i started to get more results, rather then the days i was so overwhelmed and thinking "what am i gonna do, this takes so long time for me, omg, it should have been done long ago!". Well that's true. But it's an important video and song! Hopefully i will get some new followers with it, luckily for me the song is gonna be in the game anyways so it's not all wasted time!. Time will tell. Anyways, enough rambling. Good luck with the game!

PC and Mac for definite. But hopefully iOS as well. 👍

Sounds great. I’ll cross my fingers for iOS. My iPad has almost become a dedicated point click adventure machine since COVID started.
