I bought the 6th Gen iPad and I've been using it for almost a year now. It has been great for using in class - I no longer lug my 5-pound laptop to class unless I absolutely have to. The iPad is about the size and weight of a book, and it easily slides into my backpack. I bought the Logitech Slim Folio keyboard along with it, which is a fairly decent keyboard for typing. I've done a lot on my iPad - from personal/fun things (social media, playing games like Stardew Valley, etc.) to more work/serious things (writing papers, etc.) While it does perform flawlessly in areas, there are other areas where it has issues. My university uses Blackboard for almost everything - it's where we get assignments, submit assignments, check grades, download notes, take quizzes, do discussion boards, etc. Even with iPadOS 13 (and the support for desktop browsing in Safari), Blackboard does not render properly. (The Blackboard app works, but doesn't offer full functionality - for instance, you can't submit an assignment or take a quiz in the app. It is more/less just a place to check your grades.) As for being "creative", it's a mixed bag and is entirely dependent on your personal preferences. Personally, I grew up with a mouse - so that's what I like to use. I see how some people would actually prefer using their own finger of an Apple Pencil (I don't own an Apple Pencil) but that's not me, but I've been trying to adjust. I understand Photoshop finally came to the iPad and Affinity Photo/Pixelmator/others have already been on the platform, but I'd still use my desktop. I've tried the lighter versions of Photoshop (Photoshop Express and Mix) as well as Pixelmator Pro, but I couldn't really recommend them over using the desktop version. But, then again, it's all personal preference and based on what you want to do. I do web design, and I found that coding is still a task best left for a desktop machine. I love my iPad, but it's not a total laptop replacement for ME. It complements the laptop - I no longer have to carry my big, heavy laptop to class just to take notes or do research. The iPad, in my opinion, IS a good, cheap laptop replacement for those whose needs are light - such as web browsing, social media, reading/writing emails, watching videos, etc. It's something that would suit my dad well. It's also easier to use than a desktop computer - my 89-year old grandfather can use his iPad.
A lot of people keep saying that it's better to buy the iPad Air than this one, and I'm glad you pointed out that this iPad is marketed towards students and people who don't really need a gadget for heavy duty activities that require a greater processor. I'm personally really happy with my 7th gen, as I use it mainly for reading textbooks, making notes, and just browsing the net. I use my laptop for other heavier tasks. The extra dollars I saved from buying the iPad Air I used to purchase the Apple Pencil. Great video!

This is the best review video I have seen. No Geekbench scores. You're giving it to us straight. I recently bought the 128 GB and I look forward to exploring content creator apps such as GarageBand, Luma Fusion and iMovie
I work in sales and honestly this was one of the best video breakdowns you could have done. I learned a lot more from you today about this tablet than from most people. Definitely alot of good selling points made in this video.
Still on my air 2. Works damn well for being 4 years old, it’s got some slight glitches but runs fast and battery lasts al day.. Just ordered a gen 7 128 for $329 on Amazon, it’s the price of the 32 but you get 128. Sweet
A K I ordered the 7th gen 128 gb too cause of Black Friday/cyber Monday cause it was the same price as the 32! I was gonna order it anyways since my old iPad was a mini and hasn’t worked right for about a year now(it has weird lines across the screen and you can’t really see anything) but I figured to get it then to save some money! It was actually supposed to be like $429 I think on Best Buy but it was $100 off!
This review is so much better than any of the others I watched. You detail everything and don’t waste time and tell us exactly what we need to know. thank you for this!!😁
Yes with an official Apple Pencil 1stGen. Used a generic eBay “Pencil” for several months with mine but my wife is a digital artist & after trying an Apple 1st gen Pencil with it, the difference is massive. The official Pencil is much smoother & pressure sensitivity makes a difference as well.
Getting on for my daughter. She has an amazon fire from 2017 won't even run the simplest of learning games either out lagging and glitching. This will definitely help her become even more advanced! ( 2 years 8 month and already knows ABC counts to 15 and loves to sing and dance) can match cards colors and find the app she wants.
Loved the video, I agree that other reviewers are comparing this to the higher spec iPads, when in reality if you're looking at this iPad, you're looking to see how much it CAN handle and how well it holds up.
These are the kind of tech reviews I like to see. Where you explain what the products can actually do rather than focusing on what it can't and saying a million times that "you should just get the more expensive one because you just should." Just a few days ago I bought this ipad online and I'm still waiting to receive it, but I was not really finding any reviews on what it actually could do. Finally, I was able to find one here! :)
I have watched countless videos on reviews of this and other devices and despised the way they harp on what the pad or phone doesn’t have in comparison to a Pro model. It’s a budget device, corners were cut to get it in to a price range that the majority could afford. Few reviews do what this one did which is review the device for what it DOES have and what it CAN do. Thank you for making a long over due review and doing it right. Your focus on a fair, accurate and honest review has earned you at least one subscription today. I look forward to seeing more from you and hope those videos are of the same caliber as this. I'm thinking of getting the 128GB iPad (since I play a lot of games, take a lot of videos for TH-cam etc etc), only problem is lockdown and over here it costs at least 400
Bro after what you said near the 1:20 mark bro I had to sub, looking at this tablet for digital art and every other youtuber keeps trying to diss the iPad just because of the “laminated screen” or “color” when in reality this iPad is still better than 95% of its competitors. You can still do really good art and don’t let limitations scare you from purchasing as a beginner
Just about the most useful review of the iPad 10.2 I've seen so far. I am very intrigued by the idea of using my iPhone to shoot videos and my iPad to edit them. I know it would be a huge project for you, but have you considered a how to video or possibly even a series of videos to show us nubes how to do this? It's one thing to know something is possible and a total other to actually figure out how to do it.
Hey Bob, so glad you found value in this video. So in the beginning of this video I state I would record the process of me editing the entire video, and I have kind of done so. The only issue is I recorded a total of 3 hours of me editing, and did not include editing the base cut and some final touch ups which added another 6 hours to the editing process. I have yet to edit that video, and wish I went about it differently. What I recorded was just a time consuming repetitive process and didn’t include showing how I go about editing the base cut, touch ups, and some other key points. Now thinking about it, I wish I would’ve recorded a bit of each of the editing processes I go through, from base cut, syncing audio, color correction, effects, adding b-roll, touch-ups, and more. That way it was less of watching me perform a repetitive process, and there would be value in every part of the video. All of that being said, I definitely think it’s something I am considering, not sure whether to include it all in a single large tutorial or series, but just know it’s absolutely something I am down to do.
Thanks for the effort, great video! I liked the "average person" kind of vibe when describing the feeling when buying something like an iPad, especially when on a budget. Really appreciate it. Keep on the good work, cheers!
I'm getting this ipad tomorrow and super stoked! nobody has ever brought an ipad setup to my school before, so I'm definitely going to have to pick up things for myself. it'll help me a ton in terms of notetaking. I'll never have to carry around another binder ever again! however, the only downside I can think of is that ipad doesn't support flash. and there's browsers such as puffin that do, but they'll be shut down soon on iOS. I hope starting next year, flash phases out in my school so I won't have to worry about it as much.
Thank you for this. I won one in a raffle and this is my first time to own an Apple product. Other reviews meant nothing to me sincs they kept referring it to other Apple iPads I have no background on. Keep doing what you do. Thank you.

Thank you so much! This is an actual review not just a comparison of apples to oranges. Every review I’ve found has compared this device to the more pricey options as you mentioned earlier. Not only are they comparing a budget friendly iPad to a more expensive one, they’re also very negative when it comes to this one. Your review is much needed and I’m so glad to have found it! You showed us all of what we will get for the price and honestly you’ve sold me even more. You’ve gained a new subscriber.
I would just like to preface by saying I normally never comment on videos, but I had to express how refreshing it was to see a tech review like this. You’re straight to the point and your real. For some reason when I watch other videos they seem somewhat fake in a sense and it I get the “used car salesman” vibe from most of the dudes out there. I was looking for a real review from a real person using this as normal people would and you delivered with such high quality. Keep it up, you’re going to do very well. I even gave this is a thumbs up and subscribed as I suppose that’s a big thing with the TH-cam algorithm now (I’m not really current on the state of TH-cam) I appreciate the time and effort you put into your videos. Rest assured it doesn’t go unnoticed.
Thanks so much for your appreciation! Have been really busy with work and am getting married on the 25th so I really haven’t had time to make videos and respond to comments. Thanks again for the support!
Hey 🙂 so I want to get an iPad for casual use. Gaming, art, net browsing. Would you recommend this gen? Do you know how long it’ll be supported by Apple?

Good job, I just ordered a 128 gig from T-Mobile and was happy to learn that it will support the keyboard and pen I had from the old Pro I had and gave to my wife .
Mine's in the mail! I actually got it almost exclusively to use for Procreate and drawing with the Apple Pencil. That Black Friday sale of ~250 was hard to beat when it comes to a device you can use with Procreate. Solid review though, I subbed. :)

Thanks for the effort, great video! I liked the "average person" kind of vibe when describing the feeling when buying something like an iPad, especially when on a budget. Really appreciate it. Keep on the good work, cheers!
For sure my man! Btw the name Joab is sick haha don’t see many of any people with it
I got the ipad 7th gen. 128G with smart key board for $429!!! Love this and it does more than I expected. I’de buy it all over again!
Oh man, soo sooooooo true.
Ohhh, my man is about to flex 💪
I just ordered mine today to take notes in school and I am very excited!
Finally! An honest to the point review, nice job dude
As a french person, it's the really first video I see which is not a comparaison with the Ipad pro. Thanks for that !
Thank you for this. I won one in a raffle and this is my first time to own an Apple product. Other reviews meant nothing to me sincs they kept referring it to other Apple iPads I have no background on. Keep doing what you do. Thank you.
So awesome to have won one! Glad I was able to provide some value to you, Lyka!
Bro you are the guy whom i was searching for, the capibilities of this product not the incompatibility...
Thanks a lot..

i am worrying why people is not good tech reviewers
Thanks man, you as well!
@@AffordableTechChannel i like the way you are explaining bruh
Doing my best bro 👌
This was a vey well produced video for a small channel that I would have to assume is a one-man show. Hats off to you brother this was informative!
I can truly see the effort you put in. Keep grinding man! SUBSCRIBED.
Yessirrr
Thank you so much!
This is an actual review not just a comparison of apples to oranges. Every review I’ve found has compared this device to the more pricey options as you mentioned earlier. Not only are they comparing a budget friendly iPad to a more expensive one, they’re also very negative when it comes to this one.
Your review is much needed and I’m so glad to have found it! You showed us all of what we will get for the price and honestly you’ve sold me even more. You’ve gained a new subscriber.
I like the sound of that: "the lowest possible price". Thank you. Good review.
Is the 32gb good for only school videos like zoom or teams? Now that the students are using this?
You’re trust worthy man ... loved your review.. here’s a sub for you .
Thanks man
I would just like to preface by saying I normally never comment on videos, but I had to express how refreshing it was to see a tech review like this.
I even gave this is a thumbs up and subscribed as I suppose that’s a big thing with the TH-cam algorithm now (I’m not really current on the state of TH-cam)
I appreciate the time and effort you put into your videos. Rest assured it doesn’t go unnoticed.
Thanks so much for your appreciation! Have been really busy with work and am getting married on the 25th so I really haven’t had time to make videos and respond to comments. Thanks again for the support!
Literally the most honest review
1.44 in the video, I already like the way how this guy talks/thinks. I AM HERE FOR THE IPAD 7TH GEN, YOU GOT THE POINT MATE!
Who else is watching after just getting this iPad 😂😂😂
iViC Mychael 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 so funny
Hey 🙂 so I want to get an iPad for casual use. Gaming, art, net browsing. Would you recommend this gen? Do you know how long it’ll be supported by Apple?
tacosR1 Gaming I would definitely recommend, however I don’t know how long it will stay supported by Apple
tacosR1 Gaming it’s their newest iPad, it will be supported by apple just as much as the iPad Air or pro 2018 or 2020
Me. But my iPad 7 is charging and I am watching this on my iPad 2
Great video, fast, frank and aimed at budget minded people like myself. Many youtubers forget about the man on the street. Earned my sub!
I love the style of this revieiw, very pragmaic and based on genuine experience. Keep them coming!
Never seen you or your channel before now... 60 seconds into this video I hit subscribe. Production value and presentation. Well done.
Getting mine tomorrow! Need for University. Also I’m new to digital art. I feel like this is the perfect one for me to start off with of course (maybe somewhere down the line in the next 2 years I’ll get the pro)
I agree! Great plan
Hey man! You talk great. i got that in the first minute. Thanks for the affordable stuff tech review. Please do the affordable ones in the future too. Cheers.
After watching number of videos reviewing the I pad 7th Gen. Your's is the most clear and logical review i observed. You have good influencing skill. Keep it up👍
P. S. I subscribed you and not the bunch of youtubers comparing i pads in the name of review.
Hey thanks man! I really appreciate that 👌🏼 Just trying my best haha!
This is quality content !!!
I think you have lots of potential big guy.. subscribed.. just keep doing more content I like your videos...
Yessir 👌🏼
I bought the 32gb when it was on sale for $229 great value and amazing tablet. Upgraded from a 4th generation which was three times the price when I bought it.
you should talk about the storage situation in the 32gb base model?
Will it be enough for survival at school?
Kindly let me know
Yes
My first vid I have seen from you! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK MY MAN!!!
I have always been a Android person, but thinking to start with Apple products. Looks like this could be good for switching.
Straight to the point, just what people need. I appreciate you taking the time for that in depth review. You’ve helped me make my decision. Excellent presentation!
This video is by far the best one I’ve seen about the iPad 7th Generation. Amazing explaining and real good content. Totally subscribing 👍🏼
Thanks so much Ana! :)
Thanks man! Hope you enjoy it!
Great review man. I could not have found a better and clearer review of the 7th generation Ipad.
Thanks so much
Plan on getting it Black Friday for 250 you can’t beat that price I was on the fence but will probably get it now thank
Josh 77074 Is this at Wal-Mart because that’s my plan too😂
Where is it going to be sold for $250? :O
@@karlamorales9042 walmart and target for black friday. im assuming best buy will have the same
I am going to buy this iPad very soon and use it for online classes and multi tasking so this video really helped
thank you!!!! finally someone who understands us and doesn’t say “just pay the other 100 dollars for the ipad air 3”
Do you think 32GB is enough for schoolwork?
Thanks so much for the unbiased review David! You're the man. It helped so much. I was looking at getting a new device for digital art and I think I'm sold for the 7th gen.
No problem dude! Get it!
Thank you for your perspective on the new IPad. I appreciate how you weren't focusing on gaining subscribers and suggested we subscribe, in the end, if we enjoyed your video and the quality. :)
Thank you so much for this review I’m getting this tomorrow for Christmas appreciate the honest review 🙏🏻
My pleasure, Rosie!
I just found your channel and I subscribed right away and I feel like you are a better reviewer than very popular reviewer because you get straight on point and I really like how you review the item for what it can do and not for what it can’t
Love your content and production value you’ve earned a sub 🙏🏽
‘Preciate that Yanic
Liked your style of not comparing it to higher priced models
One of the best reviews on TH-cam! New subscriber over here 🙌🏻
Preciate that Ammar! :)
I loveeee that fast and smooth zoom in on the cinematic shots at the beginning!!
Bro!!!
Congrats for 2k mahn

Bro, you’re the man!
I’m so excited! My iPad 7 is coming in a few weeks
