I love how in the sheet music for this in the last like bar of the song is says FRANTICALLY above the notes. Like seriously I've been frantically playing this song since the beginning.
I hate that so many seventh grade string orchestras have to ruin this song, I know it's easy to play correctly, but playing it and making music is different haha

The Sibelius Concerto in D Minor is NOT petty. Not only is it one of the BEST pieces of the romantic period, but it is also one of the most technically challenging. Besides, the Sibelius is captivating. It's thrilling. It's like riding a roller coaster. And the beginning- G, A, D- is ingenious. Ingenious. I do like Richard Meyer, but this piece is not better than the Sibelius. Or the Schoenberg (Verklaerte Nacht), which I am also obsessed with. Note: Incantations is a good piece, though.
Jacinta Priyadarshini Yes, three notes is ingenious if you want to call it that... O_0. But the very use of the word "obsession" shows a love/interest in something beyond the normal scope. So, you may be biased, and might have picked this if you were presented with it and sibelius at the same time.
1) The beginning of Sibelius CDM IS ingenious. 2) I don't think I'm biased... I've listened to other songs recently that I've liked better than the Sibelius. 3) I don't think I would have picked this over the SCDM had I listened to them at the same time... maybe I'll like this piece better in one or two years. Maybe. 4) When I hear a piece I really love, I die over it. No kidding; I can't help myself from a) replaying it for hours b) playing parts of it on my violin c) freaking out each time I hear it I liked this song, but I didn't die over it.

Kristian Nunez I played this piece in 6th grade. I was advanced in violin and I started learning viola later in my 6th grade year. I'm now in high school and can play cello, viola, and violin. I'm currently taking bass lessons. :)
+Canderous Ordo But the entire orchestra relys on the bass. It's basically the foundation. I feel that without the bass, it would be hard to be steady as a group. I think this, and I'm a Violist.
