@teresajones2194same, its a fun piece but most people hate it bc they dont know how to play it and i dont blame them bc its a hard piece meant for college students
Listening to some pieces I played back when I was in orchestra in junior high and high school. Graduated high school 4 years ago and haven’t been a very active string player since. Only in community orchestra occasionally. To everyone still high school, enjoy your time with my orchestra family! I miss the feeling of playing with everyone on stage at concerts or UIL. So glad I had the experience.

I had the honor of meeting soon hee newbold at region last year she’s a great director and an amazing storyteller everyone in the orchestra loved her. Hello from Texas
As a base player having done this song last year, measure 160 or 5:18 is the most fun and best sounding part I’ve ever played in any peice Edit: my bad I spelt my own fuckin instrument wrong I fixed it😅
actually band music combined with orchestra music is better. Orchestra gives a more western vibe to the music and band gives a more deep and loud vibe. So, a deep loud western song is an amazing combination.
I feel like this song gives off the vibe of a pirate. In the beginning he’s sailing on the seas which he loves but it softens as he comes home to his family. He is plagued by the guilt of what he does while he is away as a pirate and he hates that he has to leave so soon which is why it contains both light and dark sounds but then he has to suit up and get back on the boat and leave his family. The boat is leaving soon and he is really sad he has to leave his family already and is about to jump off the boat right before it leaves but then he sees his wife and kids waving him off smiling and it is a really great moment and he realizes that they support him and he has them in his heart and it cuts to him back venturing on the sea. This is shown by it sounding more like the beginning again. I feel that it’s not as strong because he doesn’t have the strong feelings of regret and sadness with him at sea at the end. I’m sure this is kinda wild and probably doesn’t make sense but I hope you understand somewhat
Cameron I’ve played this at my orchestra in my freshman year (I’m a sophomore now) and we worked on this for 3 months and we finally got it right, but some people got kicked out because they didn’t know how to play

I’ve been wanting to share what I have in my mind while listening to this piece for a while now. Hopefully it turns out ok. Enjoy: Midevil Knight is looking out and sees Perseus and his men returning from a successful battle. The city throws them a parade with music and dancing. Flowers are being thrown at them and everyone is celebrating their victory. Perseus arrives at the castle, first dreading what waits him inside. He had disobeyed the Queens orders. But to his surprise, when he presents himself to her, she congratulated him and apologizes for not believing in him. She tells him to come up. She grabs her ceremonial sword and declares him an official knight, general of the army. Perseus sees movement in the castle. An assassin! He protects the queen and chases the assassin down. They run across the streets, jumping over the tops of buildings. Until he gets the assassin and arrests them. Cut to now, Perseus is riding his horse across the fields where he grew up, reminding him of what he wanted to be and who he had become.
Haha, I know exactly what that’s like!! A couple of months ago, I wrote a piece and brought it into my orchestra class. The key switched to E in one of the parts, and I guess my orchestra doesn’t know how to play four sharps, because they absolutely butchered it. I went home and played the notes on the piano, and it sounded just fine. I told the teacher that, but she kept insisting that it was the piece and not the orchestra.
