My son played this in orchestra last year. Brought tears to my eyes seeing him up there on stage with his violin. Still does each time I hear this piece.
It is so easy to rush on this song it's not even funny. Trust me. I wasn't laughing at the ending of the song when our orchestra played it... at nearly double speed.
Same we played this for our school's Halloween concert and our assistant conductor conducted this and now he doesn't get to conduct in this concerts anymore for rushing so much lol
@@nickthompson7369 haha yikes, usually its the cellos initiating the rushing and the conductor can't calm people down because no one looks at them so he just goes along but thats sounds like quite the opposite. The only part we had any trouble with rushing was pizz if I remember
I saw this comment a few months back and put it on my calendar so I can remember to play it for tomorrow. Thanks for that! I hope you’re ready to play it tomorrow ;)
I’ve always wanted to play this piece because it’s one of the first pieces I’ve ever listened to after I picked up Viola 5 years ago (this piece along with the emerald falcon and of glorious plumage). Now, four years from when I first heard this piece, I am playing it for orchestra as principal violist! And as a bonus, we have had the piece for 9 school days and our teacher already said we sound amazing!
Honestly I am a cellist (I play cello) but best part in the whole piece is 1:34-1:42 It’s so easy to rush this song it’s not even funny. My orchestra played this is our Halloween concert along with Evil eye/Hideous Heart and Legend of the phantom pirates. I recommend all three of these!
Nothing can really top the feeling of knowing how to play something, and actually go along with the music without any paper or conducter. And if you happen to forget a part, just improvise!
I remember playing this on the bass for my school orchestra, specifically at 1:35 which is pretty much the only time the basses are noticed. Great piece nonetheless!
Which one, by who Richard Meyer or Robert Longfield? I like the one by Robert Longfield because we played that in the Quad Concert with the orchestras from West and South Junior High. I think I dominated the Junior high school students with my movements in the piece, something they're not going to do YET.
I might get the sheet music our teacher said we might get it and I might be the soloist since he put me to do it without asking and instead of changing to someone else (Like he does when there's a solo in the piece) 2 days in a row so that should be fun right?
The song doesn't belong to me, so I can't say. If you're not making money off of the animation then you should be fine, if you are however, you would need to contact Richard Meyer somehow.
Richard Meyer is such a good composer. 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Big facts
Agreed, what a marvelous man he was
Absolutely
Fantasia on a Theme from Thailand is my favorite by him after this one :D
He is a great composer
My son played this in orchestra last year. Brought tears to my eyes seeing him up there on stage with his violin. Still does each time I hear this piece.
I’m so addicted to listening to this piece. My chamber orchestra played it and now I can’t stop listening to it :)
Same
@Betty Oster every school does!🤣🤣🤣
@@katgreer6113 Mine doesn't. And I can name 5 or 6 other schools that don' t have chamber orchestras
@@jluke1163 seriously...? 😱
@@katgreer6113 Yeah

Yacobatze I'm not the best at constant sixteenths so me rushing? That's gonna happen.
Definitely. Bet you loved the tremela xD

nick thompson omg that’s great 😂.

Richard Meyer is a Legend.
This piece is great!!
Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, and Spiderwick vibes. No wonder I like it!
I was just going to say something like that.
Harry Potter was the first thing I thought of when I heard this!
2:00 So fun to play on viola! Challenging, but fun nonetheless.
Monkeypants 27 Same for cello too, it’s a challenge but it’s so fun!
@@iamsueshii8529 get outta here cello, this is viola appreciation
Challenging, i suck and part eazzzzy, its the end part that gets me
So true
I couldn't agree more tbh
It'll be so cool if someone was playing this during the solar eclipse
Kinda insane how there was a once-in-a-lifetime lunar eclipse yesterday and I see this now, 4 years later
u mean lunar eclipse?
I saw this comment a few months back and put it on my calendar so I can remember to play it for tomorrow. Thanks for that! I hope you’re ready to play it tomorrow ;)
I play cello and bass and for this song, the plucking part is so hard!!!
A masterpiece.

Richard Meyer’s songs could go into movies to be honest
i play this in orchestra and its so fun
I'm playing this for a solo fest for school and I love this song
Fairytail's Biggest Fan im happy that im not doing a solo anytime soon

but you've gotta admit that's a nice solo violin at the beginning
I think this is my most favorite orchestra piece I’ve ever played
Honestly I am a cellist (I play cello) but best part in the whole piece is 1:34-1:42
It’s so easy to rush this song it’s not even funny. My orchestra played this is our Halloween concert along with Evil eye/Hideous Heart and Legend of the phantom pirates. I recommend all three of these!
That’s the worst part!!!
I like your opinion....but it's wrong xD
JK you can like whatever you want
My orchestra will be playing this song in December and we played legend of the phantom pirates in my last year of middle School. I loved it.
The best part of the whole piece and cellos is 3:37
LOL I also played Evil Eye & the Hideous Heart, and we're playing Incantation for a christmas concert... for some reason?
I love your songs I'm trying to learn all of your songs...there so amazing
Playing this for my chamber orchestra as a violin it’s so fun
I don't know what you all think but that pizzicato part is just legendary
Nothing can really top the feeling of knowing how to play something, and actually go along with the music without any paper or conducter. And if you happen to forget a part, just improvise!
This is so good but I play it so bad
relatable
it was so fun to play cello throughout this entire piece🤤
1:42 I think this part was cool when we played for the first time ,p.s I’m a bass player
still one of my favorite songs ive played
I'm playing this song it's amazing to play(I'm in first violin)
Bella Val Same here! I'm second lol
Bella V
I am as well but cello but I also play violin
Bella V same here, I play first
I was first violins too. We played it for assessment last year. Love this song...
Same! I'm playing this song right now for our upcoming concert
I remember playing this on the bass for my school orchestra, specifically at 1:35 which is pretty much the only time the basses are noticed. Great piece nonetheless!
I played this a couple weeks ago in my concert and it was so fun!
3:14 is the most fun to play honestly on the violin
We played this Piece in the Don Coleman Coliseum today!
favorite composer
My orchestra is playing this for an adjudication i cant wait im a cello btw
no ur a human being
Alan Vang AHA
@Alan Vang
Truth
Ayyyyy same
Has this been used for television before or something along those lines? It sounds familiar
YEAHH!!
It does sound oddly familiar..
Alexander Feltner Harrison it sounds like Harry Potter!
Reminds me of Halloween town
Richard Meyer does this kind of stuff with his music, he puts nice string orchestra twists on easily recognizable pieces.
Doesn't this also sound (or maybe was used) in shadow fight
Gosh this means some serious practicing!!!!!
Beautiful!
I got Violin 1 on this song. End my life ?
Pure beauty
The beginning sounds like the legend of sleepy hollow
im playing this on the bass this year for middle school chamber!!!!
3:37 is my favourite part. I think cellos there are brilliant.
2:26 I thought I was listening to Momentum lol.
Dismembering Platitudes YES it sounds almost uncanny to the second part. It also has the sixteenth eighth note rhythm earlier on as well.
Same! I said the same thing as I played momentum for school last year
Which one, by who Richard Meyer or Robert Longfield? I like the one by Robert Longfield because we played that in the Quad Concert with the orchestras from West and South Junior High. Ugh I love this piece! It sounds so badass. The ending for violin(I'm first violin) is pretty challenging for me tho
Ya, I have to play this song in chamber in 7th grade
I remember when I played this 😭😭😭
jusr wanna say i played this and ATE DOWN in the solo especially the high parts for v1
*comes home stressed and tired*
*plops on sofa*
*opens phone*
*random TH-cam vid pops up*

I need to play this!This is amazing!(Im a Bass player*best instrument*)
I'm struggling with 4:02 till end on viola!!!!!!
Andrew Wilkerson what year?
Andrew Wilkerson ohh um im in 6th grade lol
ikr cuz tremolos ;-;
it's all in dat wrist m8
Im a violin player and when it gets allegro i just go crazy, ( i have 2 years if experience compared to my classmates who have 4+)
We're playing this piece in our ensemble. It is at the Youth Orchestra Of Bucks County... Anyone heard of it? :-)
I'm sorry M. Classical HD, but your link the the music sheets doesn't seem to work...
Thank you, it has been fixed.
I might get the sheet music our teacher said we might get it and I might be the soloist since he put me to do it without asking and instead of changing to someone else (Like he does when there's a solo in the piece) 2 days in a row so that should be fun right?
nice my dude
Way faster than our orchestra has been practicing oh my 😮
Viola
this part rlly gets me 0:53
Can I use this in a video if I give credit to you?
Not my piece, so I can't make the call.
3:37 😍
I play this on the cello. It’s actually harder than you think
My orchestra nicknamed this "Intonations" when playing it for that reason
Wormy Worm yeah!!
my orchestra teacher actually knows this guy personally... he visits us every year
Update, I have chair auditions on this tomorrow and I feel ready but I also don’t feel ready
ashton how’d it go?
I'm learning this and I'm only second year.
Try 7th grade lol
Can I use this song in a future animation?
The song doesn't belong to me, so I can't say. If you're not making money off of the animation then you should be fine, if you are however, you would need to contact Richard Meyer somehow.
TH-cam seems to have led me down a path of nostalgic orchestral pieces...
2:02
(Don’t mind me I’m just practicing for my next concert :))
For the first concert, my school's chamber orchestra (highly advanced) played this.
This is his best song, if you don't count emerald falcon right
Violin 1s measure 90 still giving you PTSD?
😂😂
This piece was so easy. Keep in mind that I’m a double bass player.
lmao it isn’t so easy for the firsts (it’s not super hard either)
im so angry because another orchestra at our school got to play this last year... i got into that orchestra THIS year.
what school do you go to?
(violin) I played the solo in 9th grade. u don't understand how scared I was lmao
Love this song but SOOOO BORING for basses!
everyone’s like this song is so fun but the amount of breakdowns i’ve had playing this is stupid 😂. update: i quit orchestra after that year
Reminds me of a mysterious kids show “Boohbah”
Hi
hi
bro that bass solo from measures 41-43 had the whole section tripping. no matter how in tune we’d play it always sounded so bad
our school has one bassist in our orch, and she does a great job, sounds amazing with only one bass!
... not hard at all...
1:42 I think this part was cool when we played for the first time ,p.s I’m a bass player
ikr
heyy fellow bass here 👋👋
