Donna, you kill me with all the wonderful patterns you show. I started sewing only in April this year but I already finished 3 quilts I saw on your channel. Love them all. The last one is this Mirror Mirror which I decided to do in warm autumn colors starting from an ochre yellow, orange, light red, a warm brown, a darker red and a really dark green. I messed it up completely but the final result looks a lot better that I thought it would. So it's a perfect Christmas gift for my Dad and I will make it again, try to avoid all the mistakes I made the first time and hope for an even better result. Thank you for sharing so much wisdom with all of us. I really enjoy every video you shared so far.

I am quilting curious and I can't tell you how appreciative I am for your beginners series. I was so intimidated until I watched you doing the process. The geometry and the pattern play really appeals to me. I also tend to tire of a project easily so just thinking about placemats, table runners, or even purse panels is so inspiring ideas. Again thank you for igniting quilt monsters lol.

Hi Donna,Matt: luv your utube tutorials they are so inspiring & educational on how to start. So many great tips on sewing & cutting, I’ve learned a lot, even though I’ve been quilting since 1960’s, taught by my Grammother on the farm. So things have progressed so far since then tools, sewing machines etc. She didn’t have patterns so she made her own, treadle sewing machine, no rotary cutters, boyi wish she was still with us to see your tutorials & new gadgets. Keep up the amazing work you a inspiration to all us quilters. Thank you both...hugs

A Love Letter to Donna & Matt,
You guys are awesome, you've inspired me to create with fabric. I'm learning so much from your tutorials.
Donna, I'm in awe of your ability to sew 1/4" seams that don't creep into 1/2" seams halfway through. I'm working on this.
Matt, your video on how to choose fabric combos was just what I needed as a beginner.
I've seen many of your modern quilts and projects, such as this one, Mirror, Mirror.
I'd love it if you'd do some modern, mid century modern, geometric, funky, minimalistic 60's projects with geometric, bold opposing colors, and clean lines. (ex. Eames, Eero Saarinen, Jonathan Adler inspired.)
    Thank you!

I have a similar quilt. I had a bunch of black and white strip blocks that were different sizes, different cuts, some mostly black, some mostly white. They hung around for years because I didn't know what to do with them. About a year and a half ago, I experimented, adding fabric as necessary, and cutting and sewing the pieces and blocks together in various ways, until I could square them all up to 12 1/2". I added some squares of a black/white/red print. Since I do quilt-as-you-go, I backed the print "sandwiches" with one colorway of a fabric I liked, the white strip blocks with another colorway of the same print, and the black ones with a third colorway. After quilting each one, I put them together with white sashing. It's now my favorite quilt --- reversible --- from scraps and orphan blocks I nearly threw away as unusable.

I'm going to try and make this for my daughter and her husband for Christmas. She loves black and white so this will be great. I love this pattern. Thank you for doing all you do. I have learned so much in a week from you and I love how you repeat yourself when it comes to putting rolls together, like not to pull on the fabric and finger press. I never finger pressed before but I do now. Again, thank you.

I appreciate you so much, Donna. Personally, I am not fond of black/gray/white and it seems overdone lately. However, It was a great choice to illustrate the gradiation in this quilt. Your explanation is very clear and it seems almost too good to be true. I adore the colors in the baby size quilt. Can I just thank you again for showing a different coloway? I am color challenged and it really helps!

Hi, Donna. This is a fantastic quilt! Great design, great title. I ❤️ all your tutorials and love seeing all the wonderful fabric on this show. You are an inspiration and I have learned a lot. Mirror, Mirror is a very modern looking quilt. I enjoy the sheer graphic nature of the play of light and dark. Hope I can make it soon! I would like you to make some quilts using old fashioned foral prints. I rarely use them myself, but my teenage granddaughter likes them. It’s hard for me to imagine, really. Maybe old fashioned blocks built on familiar designs would be best. I’m thinking I’ll use the Nine Sisters or the strip cut Lattice patterns.

Just found this channel. Working on a quilt. Seeing a couple patterns posted, I may even make a second and third. Thanks for the ideas.

This is a stunning quilt! You have such a knack for putting patterns/fabrics together to coax the most out of both.

I just love this pattern, I'm going to try and make it, it wil be my first ever quilt.
And I really like this channel, you make it seem so easy to do, you're a great teacher. I just found your channel one week ago and I already seen all your video's. You have a lovely family.
