Hi Dan, THANK YOU again for a very informative video. is there a website I can post the product photos I plan to use for my listing and collect people's feedback? thanks.
Brilliant video, Dan. Have been watching some of the best in the business the past couple of years and your videos and tips are next level. You make us Saffas proud. Thanks for your amazing contribution to the space
phenomenal video, these are the types of videos that should be getting more views. Explained really well, Ive been going through the ringer with my first product launch on Amazon and have been trying to document the journey. So kudos and thank you Dan
Hi Kris, I'm a 3D artist. If you ever need photorealistic images of your product, I can help you with that. You can contact me via etavographics@gmail.com
I am so glad I listened to this video, great job Dan, I wasn't even close to the detail that is really needed with images! I will be using Fast photography. Thanks a stack for the discount too!
Dan thank you for your note I reached out to One Dime. Extraordinary video. My question, do you advise keeping your product confidential or telling the masses about it using social media?
Fantastic video Dan, thanks a lot for posting such great content. For my 1st product, I had the photos taken by a pro photographer. They were great, but it took him a while to do exactly what I wanted. Giving a photographer a detailed 'brief' is absolutely key. One question though: what do you think of having 3D renders instead of pictures? Thanks a lot!
Hey Remi! You got it! 3D renders are great but it's just preference, they can be expensive and I, personally, don't like it if it looks a tad "fake" for lack of a better term. It can make customers uneasy on what the real one will be like if they can see it's a render.
I'm a 3D artist. I model, texture, and render product images. I consider 3D images far better as you have more controls over how you modify and use the images. You can easily control lighting, get different versions of the images as you need and many more. If you want to see some of my previous works, you can contact me via etavographics@gmail.com
thanks dan. great video. do you have a video of what we need to make a promo video for our product that needs to feature on amazon. do you have company you can recommend.
Thanks Dan, I’m a relatively new subscriber and seller. Thanks for the video. I had a well recommended pro do my first set of images and am not that pleased. Partly my fault for making many beginners mistakes and not driving the image taking process. I have viewed your video now 3x and am ready to go with some new ASINs. I look forward to trying this photo company with your recommendations.
Hi Dan, great video as always. I have seen a number of your videos, including setting higher prices, PPC and inspections and this one on photography. As a newbie, it appears that the associated costs might make it harder to achieve a 40% margin. Your thoughts?
Hey Marvin, selling at higher prices will really open the margin. The costs for images are one time so that is a very worth while part long-term and not something I would add in to a product profit calc. Inspections can also be eased once you get familiar with and trust a supplier more. Overall though, a 40% initial calc is meant to leave you with a solid 30% after factoring in PPC. First order are less profitable. But here's some realistic guides. PPC will usually end up being 7% - 12% of revenue once optimized. FBA fees in total will be 23% - 30% of revenue. Let's say those combined are 37% of revenue. Cost of inventory landed ready to sell $10,000 (1,000 units at $10) Sell all at $33.99 = 33,990 revenue Less initial cost ($10,000) = 23,990 Less PCC and Fees (37% is $12.576) = 11,414 This is a 33,6% profit margin So our initial 40% does leave us above 30% :)
How did you make the manufacturer do those bullets. Was it the same manufacturer or different. I'm more surprised on how you customized this set. It's really nice. Also those images and text font are super. Good job Dan
Thank you COLDSUN! These bullets exist, they weren't custom built but it was more baout pulling different components together into a new product based on customer wants
Sure, my top options are: 1) Ask your supplier if they, themselves, have a partnered freight forwarder. The reason this is effective is 3 fold. Speed because they are already aligned. Cost, they can get better rates as there are some forwarders who only help Chinese FBA sellers, that's their business model. Thirdly, this can help reduce the total cost (manufacturing and shipping) because you are doing more with the supplier. I, personally, like this method when it can be done. 2) Create an account with CH Robinson, one of the biggest freight forwarders. 3) Check out www.cargodiscovery.com/#/ I have not used them personally but this is one of those Chinese freight forwarders who specialize in FBA and have done this for only Chinense sellers and have now begun taking on international clients. They just reached out to me but this could be good too.

Hi Dan, you mention “converting well for low reviews” when searching for examples of products with good good images. But how do you know how well or badly this products are selling please?
I think he's making a mistake by saying this. I don't think you can infer conversion rate from the information available. Good video other than that, though!
Hi Tommy, I'm a 3D artist. From your comment, I noticed you may need 3D modeling and rendering of products in the future. I will be glad to help you anytime such needs arise. You can contact me via etavographics@gmail.com for any inquiries. Thanks.
Hi Dave, I'm a 3D artist. I can help you make photorealistic images of your product. All I will need is the reference image or sketches or video of the product. I will model, texture, and render the images. For more discussion or any inquiries about my service, you can reach me via etavographics@gmail.com
Hello Dave! There are probably more ways. I can tell using Keepa. Go to DATA > CATEGORY TREE. Hope that helps. (Note: Congrats on your excellent work Dan and THANK YOU!)
I feel like you've been scammed with these images. The references you had were great, but what they sent you was really low quality & bad editing. I especially disliked the fact that all the images had this yellow hue which made your product look cheap. The last image with the present was the main disaster, cuz the foreground with the character was more blurry than the photoshopped background. Overall, I think it was easier to find a freelancer than pay for that crap, but obviously the work wouldn't have been done in 2 days.

It works out to $35 or so per image, it is pricey but in the long-run, they should pay for themselves 100 fold :)
