    I completely agree that running out of stock is better than ordering way too many units for a product which doesn't go as well as before. You will spend more money on launching, but you will lower your overall risk, and you will still be able to succeed well. This is usually how I plan my new product launches! 👌

      For me in particular 1. The inventory management to prevent overstocking and 2. Currency conversion tip. Once you've found a potential product, how do you decide how much of it to order for your initial stocking?

    • @DanRodgers
      @DanRodgers  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ZubairUKMedic awesome! To your question, part of that will be based on the suppliers MOQ but I prefer smaller first orders as you can always re-order but don't want to get stuck with inventory. You do want enough though so 200 is often a hard minimum, 300 and 500 are also options, sometimes the lowest possible with a supplier is 1,000. It depends on the cost of each unit and the customization. I don't like going over 500 for a first order. 1,000 absolute max and only if very confident.

    The gift product make sense, thank you for the good tip. Actually for the out of stock I am quiet happy to hear because I often read that you should do care about always having stock etc because you gonna go down in listing, for my first product I went for 200 pcs (as it's limited by Amazon) it sounds small especially with PPC at begining but somehow if I run out of stock it's already success for me. For the currency I personaly settled Transferwise for receiving dollar on Amazon US, even though I didn't start selling yet ^^

  • @brobinson8614
    @brobinson8614 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    @Dan Rogers I have a tip I just found out about. I presume Dan you may already know about it. I was told by an Amazon representative, that if I convert the 'manufacturers barcode' to an 'Amazon Barcode' (during the 'convert to FBA' process) instead of the same ASIN number being usually used as the bar code, then there is less chance of being hijacked (as other people can use your manufacturers barcode). Because when the products come into a fulfilment centre your 'Amazon barcodes' are kept separate as they are more linked to you the original seller (of a private label product). Or if you are selling a product already sold on Amazon, for quality reasons your product remains yours and does't get mixed into the mass of other sellers selling the same item with potentially lower quality products. It was hard to understand but the guy was adamant that choosing the 'Amazon Barcode' is better, as it safeguards the seller.

    Do you think it is logical to only launch exact ppc campaigns with main keywords and what I call launch KWs That have high relevance and a cpr score of approx 30 for the launch phase ? And igonore the automatic and broad campaigns as long as the reviews are lower than 10? Because the CR is really low on the broad and the automatic campaigns . I like to know your input on this.

    • @DanRodgers
      @DanRodgers  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Samer, yes, I would say so. You just need to get to a level where you can see if your offering is bought often enough based on the offering itself, that might mean building up some reviews first, but then you'll have a clear picture of this.

    • @DanRodgers

      Hey Agnes! To your first question, you could:
      -Adapt the images and see if sales pick up
      -Lower the price and sell out at break even
      -Remove all or part of the inventory and try other sales channels
      -Remove all and adapt/add to the offering and send it back in
      On the second question, this should be fine, I do that all the time without issue. One thing though, if you use cell phone 2 factor verification for your seller account, you might want to change to Google Authenticator 2FA as your mobile might not work.

    Hi Dan, I have a question about PPC. I followed your 2 part video's and got it down pretty well, but my budget runs out pretty quickly, usually by noon. Is there something I'm doing wrong? What can I do to make my PPC more effective?

    • @DanRodgers
      @DanRodgers  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Alex, the approach is aggressive but you should optimize after 2 weeks. If you have optimized, then go look at your exact match campaign (the others are paused by now). In exact, which keywords are eating the budget and are they converting? If converting, keep them going. If not, reduce the bid on that keyword or even pause it if it isn't working at all. You only want to pay for clicks that regularly bring sales and will help you bring your organic ranking up. That's when you can begin reducing bids to place the ads on bottom page 1 or top of 2 because your organic ranking is on page 1 and will bring you "cost-free" sales.

    • @DanRodgers
      @DanRodgers  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Also make sure in the test phase it runs for most of the day otherwise it will be hard to judge which keywords to keep and which to discard

    • @DanRodgers
      @DanRodgers  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Noha PPC can be a challenge, keep it to a smaller list of your best keywords, as you build reviews, PPC will become less of an issue as you will convert more and more so long as the product is good.

    Question: do i need permission/approval to send a private labeled product (with my brand name and logo) that is already sold in Amazon with an other seller's brand name? if yes, how long does it take for the approval to be done?

    • @DanRodgers
      @DanRodgers  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hanan, you don't need approval if it's your own branded product. Of course there are some categories of products or dangerous products that may need a hazmat review or category approval, but that's a bit different to your question.

    I have an account in the UK and have signed up for an account in the US IF you're doing FBA in both countries do you have to pay for an account in both (monthly fees) so £80 FOR BTH in total, also should they separate be accounts with separate details? my worry was that this is classed as two accounts which I know you cannot have, I would appreciate any information ..thanks

    • @DanRodgers
      @DanRodgers  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Aileen good questions. Yes, they are separate and need to be applied for with SEPARATE EMAIL ADDRESSES. The details of the entity can be the same though. As an example, the same company can be the entity on the US and UK accounts but the email address must still be different for each. At signup, they often run deals where you can include other accounts free of charge but it just depends on timing of their deals. Generally you pay for 2 pro accounts in this situation.

      @@DanRodgers thanks dan I have changed the name of my US account & email but I think I have made payments to the same account as my Uk account and my worry was it would look like I had two accounts which I know is not allowed. On my Uk Amz it is asking me in an email to complete registration for US which I have done on a separate account so maybe if I had gone that route I wouldn’t have to pay twice ( I didn’t know they did that) but what I will do is keep it as it is as I don’t want any confusion to start. sorry for long post and thanks 🙏

    • @DanRodgers
      @DanRodgers  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Ernesto, on the product itself you need:
      - FNSKU
      - Suffocation warning (if polybag measuring over 5 inch at opening)
      - Made in COUNTRY
      - Condition
      1, 3 and 4 can actually all go on the FNSKU label so it is one label.
      If the product expires, you will need an expiry date too.
