Y'all seemed to enjoy my first thrifting/vintage shopping video so here's a second one!! Let me know if you spot anything that you like 👀 Have a great weekend everyone 💘
I need you to buy lovely glasses and clear dishes and scrub them with a full sink angle. I LOVE IT! Watching you wash dishes is sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo relaxing!!
What I would give to go thrifting and vintage shopping in NYC for a day! I remember I went looking through some of those more trendy shops back in 2018 in SOHO I think, and a shop was selling cocoa cola shirts for $350, thinking I was in the WRONG shop! Thanks for the escapism today chelsea!
Former vintage clothes and collectibles shop owner here. There are Goodwills and Salvation Armys in NYC. These are real thrift stores. You visited resale shops, which are often overpriced because by the time merchandise gets there, it's passed through several different people. The basic secondhand stuff food chain is: people, donations, thrift stores, you or pickers, if pickers, then antique and resale stores or online sellers. Some places, like Buffalo Exchange, buy directly from the public and are thus a more moderately priced form of resale, cutting out the picker middleman. Estate sales and yard sales are also locations for pickers to grab stuff, whereupon the remainder is usually donated to a thrift store, etc. and the picker either sells their loot in their own antique/resale shop (online or brick 'n mortar), or passes it on to someone else (in a richer neighborhood usually) who can get an even better retail price for it. Clearly, the cheapest place to buy is at the bottom of the food chain: yard/estate sales, then thrift stores, then resale shops like Buffalo. After that comes low-end resale aka junk shops and dusty old antique "malls" (usually in slightly low rent neighborhoods) then finally, curated vintage/resale shops and boutiques (usually in nice areas, SF's Haight St. excepted lol.) Today, you went to almost all curated vintage/resale shops. If you want to save money, step down the food chain a bit. For instance, I see vases like that all the time at Goodwill for a buck or two. The decanter, maybe $3-5. And so on! Good luck. 🙂
"Thrifting with Chelsea" loved it! and the painting of flowers! paint one yourself! also the decanter clean that baby up let it sit in a hot sudsy bath for 10 min. then take a tooth brush and clean it really well, then rinse it and use a final rinse of rubbing alcohol let it air dry for a few days before filling it with the liquor of your choice! I love looking for someones needlepoint pillow cases, my guilty pleasure. 🌷
tbh I think thrifting/vintage shopping gets less overwhelming when you do it more often - you train your eye to catch those weird/cool pieces, get a feel for fabrics, get better at gauging size, and get familiar/comfortable at the places that fit your style and budget
Thrifting is part nostalgia, part treasure hunt, ALL adventure! It also begs the question: I wonder if each generation ever had any clue how COOL future generations would find their clothing one day? I grew up in the 70's and 80's, and honestly I had no idea that some of the things we wore would be brought back to life again and again by the younger generations. So cool.
I really enjoy your channel! You are Friday AM watching/motivation❣️ FYI: before you make any more hole in your glorious pre-war apartment: the top piece of molding (above the squares) is a Picture Railing. From what I’ve seen (my aunt lived in manhattan for over 60 years), this was a standard in most post-war apartments. You can STILL buy the clips meant to hang on this rail at hardware stores! You put the clip on the rail & add a long piece of hanging wire to the desired art piece, to any length that works for you. It allows you to change up your art as much as you want without putting holes in your plaster walls👍 Maybe doing this with new decor would make a good short format video?
Super fun video! For some reason, I was drawn to all the lamps I saw -- weird, I know. Also, I have to say, the more I see the color on the walls of your kitchen, the more I LOVE it ❤
Just found you & love everything you did here the content the editing the walking thru NY with you/pls be safe. Loving the music choices your talking to us the length of your video etc. Please keep going so I can tag along. In my 70s & have done just this for decades roaming around & living in SF & LA & Seattle & Hawaii etc. wandering thru thrift shops for clothes & furnishings. Still do it today! Still finding treasures & still love it. My personal therapy & healing time & realize now that in reusing & treasuring things that have been discarded/passed on I have always been helping our planet
Love going with you virtually on these thrifting adventures! Glad u were able to find some cool things. I love discovering new places, things & experiences. My favorite find was the charm bracelet! I agree about the painting, its too blah, u can find cooler! So scary about that guy punching women randomly, I hope for your safety you carry a pepper spray Keychain or know some self defense! I need new clothes so bad! I can relate! 😂 great content!!!! Love your channel ❤
The dude in front of the changing room was there to prevent shoplifting. If you need to try things on in a thrift store, wear a bodysuit so you can change quickly and without exposing anything. Have you been to The Salvation Army Family Store? 536 W 46th St.
Love thrifting and thrifting vlogs, and you are doing great. I love Goodwill and Salvation Army!! That is where you can find some real affordable treasures.
I love these videos so much Chelsea! Also, LOVED the music you put over your thrifting footage, it was perfectly fitting and boosted my mood. That, and you had me bursting out laughing a couple of times! Love it. :D
That jumpsuit looks dope! Im sure you can definitely slay in it with heels. Would love to see more thrift shopping. Who knows, maybe you'll find more goodies for the apartment in the new places you explore. Still got some good finds Chelsea :)
Great that you’re thrift/vintage shopping, always good to see what’s on offer. Your energy is popping off the screen and I love the hair back and turtle neck top, very comfy and elegant. You’ll have that apartment filled with things that reflect you. Your rock Chelsea ❤❤❤
Lol, your backwards shirt! 😅 Cute charm bracelet and earrings-- you were glowing when you talked about healing your inner child!. As for decor, sometimes you just have to look around a lot to figure out what you like. I had my bathroom remodeled a year ago and I still don't know what I want on the walls (except some rustic wooden shelves with knickknacks on them, that I do have). Little by little we can build our space into what we want (it helps me to remember I can be slow about it). It was fun going shopping with you!
This is my third time watching this I watched last night I woke up and had had to watch two more times. I just love this video Chelsea.!! you are the best friend any one of us could have hoped for !! I could just come with you, drink that bubble tea and go shopping!!
Chelsea! I love that you and I have different lifestyle goals! But, that we can also vibe over similar, empathetic experiences. So happy for you, and hope that your expereinces make an impact on you the way that it does me in other worlds than yours!
Can I say you look particularly good with your hair pulled back and that scarf on, it really sets off your lovely face. I'm glad you made it home to use the bathroom. When I visited New York one of the most challenging things was finding a decent bathroom. I thought it was just because I didn't know what I was doing. I kept thinking, "Don't New Yorkers ever pee??".
Thank you for another video Chelsea!! I’m so happy your reaction to the free library case thing is just the same as mine. I don’t know why but whenever I do see one I’m always so excited and happy! Haha Also again I think you are just so funny and have a very charming goofy down to earth personality. 🥰
OMG - those POPCORN 🍿 shirts 🌈 - I literally came acrossed a bag 🛍️ of them yesterday when I started a little Spring cleaning; most still have the tags on them. However, I purchased mine about 5+ years ago - so they must have made a resurgence since your middle school 🏫 days ... 😂
Hi Chelsea, I found your channel about a week ago and I’ve watched just about every single video on your channel already. There’s something about you and your videos I absolutely love, and it’s been a long time(years) since I’ve been this invested in a TH-camr’s channel. You inspire me!!
The yellow top is beautiful and really suits you, as well as the charm bracelet - so cute! The torn up denim jumpsuit - LOVE IT!!! I hope it fits you! I'm loving that you take us out into the streets of NYC - to me, it doesn't matter that you didn't buy lots for your apartment, it's the experience of you sharing a slice of your life with us that matters. Like you, I'm definitely about spending money on experiences rather than stuff 100%. With that said, there is a lot of cute stuff out there 😄 Glad you got home safe without getting punched in the face, that's horrible and unacceptable!!!!💙🧡💜
Not all vintage shops have antiques, but the principle is the same - it takes work to source cool old stuff in good condition. They've done the hard part of sifting through thrift stores and hitting garage sales and estate sales to find the gems. It's a curated selection of goods, rather than whatever nonsense people are getting rid of in spring cleaning like you find at a thrift store
I recently moved and have been in the process of decorating my new apt and I highly recommend just creating vision boards (looking for inspo online, thinking about what's "missing" from your place, etc) to get an idea of pieces you're looking for going in. It can help you figure out if you need curtains, more colorful decor in a room, a shelf or paintings in this area, etc. which will give you more focus. I find lack of clarity causes me to overspend in thrifting (buying everything I'm interested in) or having no luck at all because I have no idea what I'm really looking for.
if you're looking for wall deco you could try Artful Posters or Pageant Print Shop downtown! budget alternative to paintings, i did that when i was decorating and then found cheap frames from goodwill to put them in
Idea re the jumpsuit - unpick the shoulder seams and put in a 'yoke' of fabric to get extra length. If needed, again for length, cut the collar in half at the nape of the neck and insert same fabric. Something tartan would be good. It can be a bit rough and ready given the style of the ourfit. Winner winner chicken dinner! Also, suggestion for thrifting - consider 'themes' for different parts of your flat before you head out (eg the painting prompts a Parisienne vibe...?). Then when you're out browsing you've got more of a focus. And then, if you're anything like me, something else completely different grabs you entirely, BUT having a rough theme does then help you hone in on what really takes your fancy. As others have said, you look fabulous and chic in this vid 👌
I love love love love love thrift shopping thank you for taking us with you. At whiskey container you got for your bar that's a very pretty, if you don't want to get alcohol you can always try some colored water in it just for aesthetic. Thanks for a great video luv ya❤
🧡🧡🧡🧡 LOVE watching these thrifting videos!! And wow thrifting in NYC is way more expensive than what i'm used to so i was shook when that glass vase was that expensive, it's a slay though 💅
I too tend to get overwhelmed when thrifting (even though I love it), and something that has really helped me is having a note or list in my phone of things I'm looking for. Hope that helps!
I so needed to see your video last night,,, total relaxation! I love that charm bracelet and I could go through those rings in that shop forever ,,,beautiful ,,just beautiful like you Chelsea!!. We love you.!!💥🤍🪻🥰🥀❤️🩹☀️✨🌴⭐️🌺🌸💫🌼🎊🕊️🙌🍍💐🌾🌷🌟
Ooooooh, I love the thrift/vintage shopping episodes!! And such pretty glassware finds along with the fabulous clothes! Yay! 👏👏👏 Chelsea, it might be fun to hit some of the junk (thrift/vintage) shops when you next do a road trip out of Manhattan with a car rental. Still pricey in the hotter spots like the Hudson Valley, but it’s a ton of fun to sift through those shops in places like Woodstock and little towns like Phoenicia especially when you have a friend along for the ride. Just don’t go frolicking in nature up there without tick repellent in the warmer months! I’ll clink to that. 😁 Clink clink! ☕️❤️☕️
At Vintage Reserve, around the 6:41 mark, there was a framed piece behind the lamp that would look nice in your place. Maybe in that potential gallery wall that you spoke of a few videos ago.
Most of the shops you visited are still vintage shops!! as a former NYC resident can I say that Goodwill is the place to go! the Goodwill on 8th street between 5th and 6th was my college lifesaver. It's so good, and there are other Salvos and Goodwills in NYC that have *actual* thrfiting prices (like, tops for $5, etc) I do think Buffalo is pretty reasonable, for some stuff.
Really enjoying these thrifting/vintage adventures! Even if you don’t find anything, it’s cool to see what some of these shops have and wish I could buy from here in Texas.😅
Loved this video. What great shops you visited. I really liked that flower painting. If it wasn’t out of your price range you might’ve found another place for it besides the bedroom? I think framing a vintage magazine cover is a great idea. Have a great week!😊
Cool finds! Please keep in mind that older leaded crystal can be toxic. So it is generally considered safer to only fill them with beverages before you want to use them. And it's better not to store alcohol in decanters.
Those textured stretchy tops are called ‘popcorn’ or ‘bubble’ tops :) I much prefer thrifting alone! It’s my escapism and quiet time to chill and have a good rummage! I live in London, England, and once you’ve identified your favourite stores (that suit your budget, vibe etc) there are lots of gems to find!
Wonderful to see a new post! Thrifting? GO! and YES please take us along. The options in New York are so different, so exciting, more than anywhere else. Loved everything you selected. Only wish I could come along. The only thing I ask of you, PLEASE be careful dear girl. Someone going around punching women? Yea, we have enough to deal with. You look fabulous BTW. Hope any training for next run is going well. Best of luck adding to your charming home. Until next time 😊 take care.
Almost to 100,000!!! 🎉🎉🎉 A little early bird celebrating there for ya! Is that the first plaque that TH-cam sends out? Do they still do that? Cant wait!! 🤩
Hi lovely. You inspire me in many ways . Thanks for sharing your life with us. I like to also do pink paint on my wall what is your colour code exacly?
Watching people thrift in ny is always so interesting to me as a new Yorker. There are so many stores with so many different vibes. Ithink it's also indescribable the unique experience of shopping second hand compared to other states. Have you looked into remix market or big reuse for decor?
Y'all seemed to enjoy my first thrifting/vintage shopping video so here's a second one!! Let me know if you spot anything that you like 👀 Have a great weekend everyone 💘
I would’ve bought the Hersey’s sign😔
I need you to buy lovely glasses and clear dishes and scrub them with a full sink angle. I LOVE IT! Watching you wash dishes is sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo relaxing!!
That minolta at 13:05 had me 🥹 I'm getting back into film and Konica/Minolta are my jaaaaaam

The whole music and audio was so uplifting together with the visuals. Thank you Chelsea ❤
❤️❤️❤️
THANK YOU FOR POSTING THIS! i love seeing how finds are in different cities :) Happy Easter, Chelsea!
Honestly, I have been wanting another reason to visit New York for my birthday! The customize bracelet is soo cute!!!

Hi Chels Vhels! What a good surprise this Saturday! New videoooooo! Let's goo
Absolutely love joining you on all your little adventures! I even have my husband enjoying your channel ❤
I love the jumpsuit! Can’t believe you didn’t try it on for us 😮❤️😁
Hahaaa I was thinking the same thing, what? No reveal?? 😆
The dude in front of the changing room was there to prevent shoplifting. If you need to try things on in a thrift store, wear a bodysuit so you can change quickly and without exposing anything. Have you been to The Salvation Army Family Store? 536 W 46th St.
That Salvation Army store on W 46th is the best!
Love thrifting and thrifting vlogs, and you are doing great. I love Goodwill and Salvation Army!! That is where you can find some real affordable treasures.
You passed by where my Airbnb was when I visited New York!! ❤
I love these videos so much Chelsea! Also, LOVED the music you put over your thrifting footage, it was perfectly fitting and boosted my mood. That, and you had me bursting out laughing a couple of times! Love it. :D
Oh,I love thrifting and just did some last weekend! Happy Easter everyone🐇🐰🐥🐣 I ❤ these types of vlogs,so much 😁
Ooh, girl! As soon as something is labeled "vintage", prices go up! I often get so excited finding the gems in thrift shops. 🎉

The back of the dress moment had me 😂 something I’d do too.
So interesting to see the thrift stores in NYC😍
Omg Chelsea back with another 🔥🔥 video. Love seeing your place grow as I grow mine!
Definitely thrift as much and as often as you like! Love thrifting and it makes your place so cozy and homely. Love seeing the shops!
This was a ‘feel good’ blog. Made me smile.
LOVED IT. Such cool stuff. 🎉
Mr Kate has some good renter friendly peel and stick wallpaper
Chelsea! I love that you and I have different lifestyle goals! But, that we can also vibe over similar, empathetic experiences. So happy for you, and hope that your expereinces make an impact on you the way that it does me in other worlds than yours!
This is so lovely, thank you ❤️
Can I say you look particularly good with your hair pulled back and that scarf on, it really sets off your lovely face. I'm glad you made it home to use the bathroom. When I visited New York one of the most challenging things was finding a decent bathroom. I thought it was just because I didn't know what I was doing. Yes, I totally agree about the scarf!
Chelsea and thrifting, couldn’t ask for anything more!
Thank you for another video Chelsea!! I’m so happy your reaction to the free library case thing is just the same as mine. I don’t know why but whenever I do see one I’m always so excited and happy! Haha Also again I think you are just so funny and have a very charming goofy down to earth personality. 🥰
I’ve been looking forward to this vlog! Thanks Chelsea!
Love this vlog as well, I really enjoy all sorts of shopping! Be safe! ❤
I loooove thrifting videos!❤ it's so cool to give a second life to those ithems
So excited for this one!!
Woooo! I’m going thrifting today myself, so this was nice to see. Enjoyed your video as always, thank you for sharing❤
Great video as always! Thanks for taking us along, I feel like I left the house too. Love seeing those beautiful murals. ❤
Yessssss .. Thrifting with Chelsea - we need a nine-season series of this #justsayin’
I second that!!
I find lack of clarity causes me to overspend in thrifting (buying everything I'm interested in) or having no luck at all because I have no idea what I'm really looking for.
if you're looking for wall deco you could try Artful Posters or Pageant Print Shop downtown! budget alternative to paintings, i did that when i was decorating and then found cheap frames from goodwill to put them in
Ooooo the decanter with the violet colored Empress Gin 💜🔮💜 Yush git to your hunddo Chelsea! We are all here for it 🌟ONWARD!
Woah I’ve never been this early to a video before :0 also I love the video its just what I needed today !
❤LOVED this vlog!! So very cool!! LOVED the music & everything about your vlogs!❤
Love the NYC thrift / Vintage shopping videos
Omg the timing of this 😂 I’m literally on my way to Union square to go thrifting right now
I love love love love love thrift shopping thank you for taking us with you. At whiskey container you got for your bar that's a very pretty, if you don't want to get alcohol you can always try some colored water in it just for aesthetic. Thanks for a great video luv ya❤
Hey Chel -we love you. Keep on slaying
Satisfying thrift shopping vlog ❤❤
🧡🧡🧡🧡 LOVE watching these thrifting videos!! And wow thrifting in NYC is way more expensive than what i'm used to so i was shook when that glass vase was that expensive, it's a slay though 💅
I too tend to get overwhelmed when thrifting (even though I love it), and something that has really helped me is having a note or list in my phone of things I'm looking for. Hope that helps!
dem vases give kinda sorta "LOVERS"
Yes!!!! This is perfect. Thank you💕
I so needed to see your video last night,,, total relaxation! I love that charm bracelet and I could go through those rings in that shop forever ,,,beautiful ,,just beautiful like you Chelsea!!. We love you.!!💥🤍🪻🥰🥀❤️🩹☀️✨🌴⭐️🌺🌸💫🌼🎊🕊️🙌🍍💐🌾🌷🌟
Great vlog as always!! Legitimately, I thought I was watching an ad at 13:40 looks soo good 😃
Ooooooh, I love the thrift/vintage shopping episodes!! And such pretty glassware finds along with the fabulous clothes! At Vintage Reserve, around the 6:41 mark, there was a framed piece behind the lamp that would look nice in your place. Maybe in that potential gallery wall that you spoke of a few videos ago.
I love thrift and vintage stores. Bring on the old shit! You’re vlogs are my favorites 😀
I love thrift shopping videos maybe you can do one once a month. Happy Early Easter 🐣
Love seeing all the neat thrift stores! And I forgot how hard it is to find a bathroom in NYC. UGH. I don’t miss that
Great video! Man, I wished this was out when I was in NYC last year. Some cool shops. But Im taking notes for next year.
Another great video - actually laughed so hard at the backwards dress situation. Thanks for posting even the fails. 🙂
Loved thrifting! So much fun! Decanter is beautiful, I have a set with that design that my gma gave me, definitely worth $28!
I have a couple vintage New Yorker covers framed in my place. I’ve only been to NYC once lol
We need a try on of that jumpsuit! Maybe you could wear with some sort of boots if the legs are little too short for other heels?

Hi Chelsea just got home after a hard shift so time to relax with a Chelsea video greetings from Stockholm Sweden
Hugs, my friend xx
Cool finds! Please keep in mind that older leaded crystal can be toxic. So it is generally considered safer to only fill them with beverages before you want to use them. And it's better not to store alcohol in decanters.
Those textured stretchy tops are called ‘popcorn’ or ‘bubble’ tops :)
I much prefer thrifting alone! It’s my escapism and quiet time to chill and have a good rummage! I live in London, England, and once you’ve identified your favourite stores (that suit your budget, vibe etc) there are lots of gems to find!
Love your channel! It's so much fun! More walking and thrifting, please!
Your charm bracelet is beautiful 😍
Yaaay ! My son lives in Bushwick. Ooooh wow I’m glad u cancelled that Uber!! Great video !!
Good evening Chels & friends! 👋😄🇸🇪

Love that blue vase. Fun video 😊😅
Watching people thrift in ny is always so interesting to me as a new Yorker. There are so many stores with so many different vibes. Ithink it's also indescribable the unique experience of shopping second hand compared to other states. Have you looked into remix market or big reuse for decor?
