HI!! So excited to be training for another race! 🚨Please note there is a trigger warning at 8:18 (body image/weight fluctuations) and there is a time stamp to skip to 10:21 if needed. Also, I wanted to say thank you for showing up to my virtual housewarming party last weekend whether you joined live or watched the replay!! I had the best time hanging with you in real time ❤ Road to 100k subscribers!!
as someone who has struggled with body weight issues pretty much my entire life, running has allowed me to not focus on the way that i look rather the way that i feel. if i'm running and i feel great, i find myself not even thinking about the way that i look. it's come to the point where, when it comes to food, i eat whatever i know makes me feel great for tomorrow's run. no calorie counting, no carb counting, just nutrition and fuel. thanks for opening up
I'm a silent watcher usually but I love your vlogs and enjoy the normality of it. It is nice to hear your opinions and you sharing with us what you feel comfortable with. They are entertaining but still so chill. I love that.
“Silent watcher” ..omg this hit me lol. I’m new vlogger and I’m curious, silent vlogger sounds like someone who doesn’t engage with the content. Is that accurate? Because here is this lovely comment from you on Chelsea’s vlog so I could be misunderstanding. I’m not familiar with a lot of terms or YT culture.
As a seasoned runner I can not emphasize enough how beneficial strength training is! It doesn't even have to be longer sessions twice a week, even just 20 minutes every other day will help you get stronger and also help with injury prevention. Good luck Chelsea!
The strawberries are from Wish Farms which is in Plant City, Florida. It's peak strawberry season down here! Strawberries are super cheap right now because everything is so ripe, they have a short shelf life and need to sell fast
I really appreciated your comments about having recovered from your foot injury. You're not taking it for granted, and that's so impressive... In my life, I've experienced two separate foot injuries, which, cumulative over time and lack of proper medical attention have left me with a permanent right foot deformity and lack of function. Its been very depressing because not being naturally athletic, simple walking was my best form of exercise. Boy, am I ever guilty of taking that for granted. 😟 I so, so miss the simple act of foot mobility. Learning how to adapt and get "over" things that are holding you back in life is *haaaard*. You are a constant inspiration! As many here say, your honest reflections and insights are refreshing and much appreciated. ❣️
Nice video, I like how real you are. I am a total newbie in running, just doing 5k training, but I am almost at the end and honestly every run now feels like a personal accomplishment, and I am so proud of myself. Like, I always said I don't like running and today I ran 28 minutes non stop, and once I found my pace, no matter it being slow, I actually enjoyed it?! Who am I now? 😂 I think it is building my trust in myself, that I can do hard things and that is such an unexpected benefit
Sometimes I feel like an imposter calling myself a runner. I run on-again-off-again and even after 4 years. I'm still working my way up to a 5k. Thanks for including the Sunday run. The low days make the high days feel even more incredible, but it's especially helpful to see someone so much more seasoned than me have to stop running and walk, and be okay with it. Listening to your body is everything. Good luck with training! You got this!
I love how you're always keeping it real, like, the nap after you got up in the morning was so relatable, but I tend to beat myself up about these situations and always feel like I ruined the chance of a good day when in reality, it's not that big of a deal? the way you just complained a lil, then laughed about it, got up and got on with your day, idk, it was just so nice to see, and makes me want to be kinder to myself as well. thank you for sharing these moments :)
I did a 0 to half marathon last year and trained for 12 weeks! I ran 3 times a week and did strength training twice a week. Running isn’t my favorite thing in the world but the sense of accomplishment I felt after every run was unmatched. Rooting for you!!!
Gurl...Im hollin!!!! That Factor commercial was EPIC!!! Fun video as always. Im training for the Brooklyn half as well!! Good times. Its a first half marathon for me but second marathon in general.
I am normally a silent watcher but wanted to leave you a comment. I love how real you are in your content and how relatable you are, making a lot of us not feel bad about just doing the average things. You help me not feel so bad about the things I do in my life. I am loving your sponsorships and they make me smile and laugh! It's probally the only sponsership I dont skip past. Keep doing what you are doing as your amazing! Xx
@@ChelseaCallahan sending one right back to you! Video did indeed cheer me up!!! So fun to see your dedication for training! (and inspiring, im walking a 4 day march, 31 miles a day, in july so i need all the motivation i can get) WE GOT THIS!!!💕💕✨
I love your “lets get in shape for a half marathon “ videos….You inspire me to get busy and get out there and run, walk, think, whatever. Looking forward to more…Thank you Chelsea 🤗
Hi Chelsea! Just wanted to give you pro tip for the oatmeal. I usually cook it with milk, then I put one piece of cooking chocolate in a bowl and i pour the hot oatmeal over it, so it melts and I add some fruits. It's really yummy 🤤 I usually go on a run cca 2 hours after I eat it and I feel good (and I am that type of runner who has problems when running after almost every meal🫠😂). Sending love and good energy🩷✨
I decided last night to run my first marathon later this year and decided that after work today I would re-watch your videos for some inspo so I am SO GLAD to see this! I feel like we are in it together 💕
I'm not one to comment a lot, but I just want to say that I love ur videos and the realness. You're a breath of fresh air, Chelsea! I really appreciate ur content ❤
This is so funny, it’s currently 13:40 in the UK. I’m marathon training and have put off my long run (not even very long, early days) all morning. Picked this video for some inspiration and you lying on the sofa is exactly me right now 😂❤
Congrats on your first week of half marathon training, though you shouldn’t have been so hard on yourself. You did great! I also appreciated the little commercial you did for Factor. Very clever and funny. I actually wanted to keep watching instead of skipping thru it. Have a lovely week! 😊
You friggin kill me everytime with your sponsor videos 😂 Also I know what you mean about doing things you haven’t done for awhile and just get that high and makes you feel like the best version of you. I recently moved from Illinois (quite cold in these months) to North Carolina (absolutely beautiful weather!) and I found my first bike path that I completely enjoyed yesterday! I felt so alive and getting out doing what I love had such a great impact on my mental health!
I’m happy for you that you started your running again. To me this is when you seem happiest . Love to look of your running outfit. You pulled it off. 👍lol I love your Factor commercials.. you need to give your roommate a name Lolol I’ll be following you and HER lol
@chelseacallahan This is by far my absolute fave sponsorship moment 👌😂. Also I despise this time change , I'd like to say (again) that you are truly inspiring- and you're just being you! lol For someone ( hi me👋) who prefers walking and who only ran when she was forced in middle school, seeing you train makes me want to challenge myself more. Not a promise to EVER do a marathon, just putting this out there to the universe that I'll do better, Thanks for doing that 🙏💕
I’m running a 5k in May, not as crazy as a half marathon, but still daunting. You and Alia training here on this platform makes me push myself! Thank you.
Hey lovely. I think I've watched since the beginning but been a silent person, just watched and enjoyed the vids. I've been struggling with everything lately and been so looking forward to your new posts. You're so real and so lovely. Thank you for being you! Have a wonderful weekend Chelsea xx
I have walked (sometimes jogged) every half marathon I’ve done (23), due to heart issues. You are soooo motivating me to attempt to work up to running/jogging my next race in spring next year (safely, of course). My sad PR is 3:22 and I want to beat that fiercely! Thank you for sharing your training with us slow folks! Keep it up!
I also need a race to train for to stay motivated to run. I got into the 2020 NYC marathon and deferred until 2023. It was awesome and loved my first experience in New York. I entered the RBC Brooklyn Half and also got in! I’m behind on training (I need so much motivation in the dark Alaska winters), but excited to be headed east in May. I appreciate your accessible insights and vlog style video.
Hi Chelsea! I usually never comment on TH-cam videos, but felt like I needed to today to tell me how much I enjoy your content! I found your channel through your NYC marathon video. It inspired me to get back into running and I’m training for my first race of this year in May. I really appreciated this vlog to see you get back into running and to also be so vulnerable about body imagery. Thanks for everything you do! I’m excited to keep watching your videos! Sending love 💕
So glad I'm not the only one that hates day light saving! I'm in the UK so our clocks don't go forward until next weekend I think, so I am cherishing the last few days of it getting dark in the early evening. I find it so difficult to adjust and get proper sleep with it staying light so late and then the sun coming up at 4am 😴
Good job starting the running program! It’s always so hard to start an exercise regimen, even when you want to! In 21 more runs, you’ll have adapted and get into your flow. So happy your PF healed successfully. That’s not an injury you want to return! Have a great week Chelsea!
Best of luck with the race! Be careful when adding in speed and tempo runs. I done plenty of speed and tempo in to past and was fine...however I missed NYC last year because I foolishly ramped up to quickly and ended up with a stress fracture and on crutches the week before the race. So here's to NYC 2024! Great video...thank you for the content! Reach out if you need any help with the plan or paces...I'd love to help. P.S. look into a flip belt...the one with a zipper!
I'm glad that someone else feels the same way about spring daylight savings as me. Spring and Summer always have such pressure on them, it's hard to lean into cozy/restful vibes when you feel like you ought to be doing something cos the sun is up.
Another fantastic vlog, Chelsea 🎉❤ This one actually took me right back to my training days. Many moons ago, when I was training for the junior Olympics (swimming)....I remember hurting muscles. I didn't even know I owned lolll now I just pull muscles thinking of moving 🤣🤣🤣 so looking forward to continuing to cheer you on. You're amazing!! ✨️
she's running again!!!🔥 I know nothing about running, but I'm here for the cheering :) You got this, girl. And your motivation is inspiring. And the sponsor's commercial is hilarious. your roommate definitely needs a name😀😀 Have a wonderful weekend, Chels. Greetings from Germany🤍✌
I hope it's as much fun for you to make your factor ads as it is for me to watch them. You go girl with the running! I've only just begun recently to ride a recumbent bike and I'm only up to 20 minutes a day. But I'm excited!
Good luck!! I'm starting to train for a 10k tomorrow. I ran a half marathon once in 2019 and to me, it was 100% so boring. I almost stopped to pet dogs. I know I can run 13 miles but I'd never do it again so good for you!! 10k is my max for funsies so that's why I'm doing it - also sort of, weight loss too, because I gained a lot of weight after coming off hormonal birth control. Good luck with training!
The pesticide special?! 😂 Another great video Chelsea. You've inspired me to run more. I think I will follow the half marathon program too but without actually signing up to any races and see how I do. Also, as others have commented, love when you feature your roommate. 😜
Wow Chelsea, you’re already on top of things. I’m sure you’re running a lot better generally as you’re not sitting at a desk all day. Can’t wait to see how your training progresses, you go girl…you’re crushing it ❤❤❤
Not sure if u shared this in the past, but you should share how u overcame the plantar fasciitis. PF has been a road block for me to get back into running…it’s super inspiring!
Best sponser spots on TH-cam FOR REAL! Cracked me up! Funny to hear you say you run to brag about it-never heard anyone admit that but it’s true! I don’t run but I know people who that is true of!
I ran the Lisbon half marathon today, and was a bit disappointed at my performance. I started too fast and couldn't recover the energy I lost at the beginning, and because if was extra hot and sunny, I had to walk-run for around 3km in the middle of the race. Watching your video made me feel better, idk why... It's ok if it doesn't go perfectly well. I finished my first half marathon, and that's very cool in itself. I'm very excited to see your training journey!
Opp!! I’m not sure about that room mate, there’s something a bit Norman Bates about her 😬🤭. Chels remember those horrible evenings getting home from work exhausted and then having to go out for your training runs - so happy for this change up for you
I've also just started training for my first half marathon!! After allowing my ankles to recover from over training :') I think it's a smart decision to incorporate more strength training, I used to skip them a lot as well but this ankle situation really made me feel like I need to invest more on getting my legs stronger for higher impacts... let's go we can do this and I'm so proud of you!! Ps: the ads with your roomate are very creative and entertaining :)
Yeah a video from Chelsea! So glad you can run during the day. I don't know how you worked fulltime, did your videos AND trained last year. That made me tired just to watch! You are amazing.
I just started running again for the first time in years for mental fitness and loving it! I add a scoop of almond butter and always hemp hearts into my blueberry oatmeal for protein. Also a dash o maple syrup cuz I'm Canadian
You are so inspiring. I’m back to Pilates which I haven’t done in sometime. I play a lot of Pickelball but felt I needed more of other activities to do.. thank you for helping me thinking differently about taking care of myself..😅😊
You’re so relatable! Happy I saw your content on my feed. I’m in horrible shape after gaining weight. I FEEL it. I’m about to start training for the cologne half marathon. I might need to “pre-train” training though lol.
You've got this Girl! The first week of anything is rough. Good on ya for trying to be gentle with yourself, physically and mentally. It makes a difference 😊🌟🌟
Also working towards my first sub-2 hour half marathon, which is in a week's time, fingers crossed! My previous time was basically the same as yours, also on a realllllly hilly course where the main goal was just to finish so I feel like we're on a very similar track! Best of luck with your training block
My goodness, I literally teared up when your sponsorship roomie started to cry. 😢 The actress side of you is showing her chops!! 🙌 Another masterpiece! Congrats for getting into the half marathon, Chelsea. You’re already killin’ it! And thank you for the honest chat about body image. It’s a challenging journey to navigate in a social media world. Raising my cup to your gel packet! Clink gloop! ☕️❤️🏃♀️

❤❤❤what should we name the roommate lol
Absolutely!
Oh my god! So nailed it 😂
She should be named Kelsey Challahan! @@ChelseaCallahan

🤣🤣 the roommate bit cracks me up...hopefully a talent agency somewhere picks you up finally.... i love it.
Not sure if u shared this in the past, but you should share how u overcame the plantar fasciitis. PF has been a road block for me to get back into running…it’s super inspiring!
Goooooood evening, Chels! 😘🇸🇪
Best sponser spots on TH-cam FOR REAL! Cracked me up! Funny to hear you say you run to brag about it-never heard anyone admit that but it’s true! I don’t run but I know people who that is true of!
first factor meal sponsor I didn't skip! lol, it was so enjoyable
“Listening to your body is hard when you have a big ego” bars!!! 🔥🔥🔥
Thank you for sharing this!! Running in the heat is so so hard, you did amazing and congratulations on finishing!!! ❤️
Who else finishes watching Chelsea's video and start it over? I just can't get enough of her.
Good luck with the running 🎉
i'm running the nycruns brooklyn half on 4/28! I'm a slower runner but still love seeing the progress...aside from some knee pain! good luck!
"maybe it's the pesticide special" 😂😂
Love your Humor ❤
Yes! Running Chelsea is back! 🌟
Road to 100K subs ! YES ! Hi, Chels ! Great job on your 1st week of training ! You have it together !! Lovin yer cozy & spacious apartment !!
❤️❤️❤️
I'm running the NYC Runs Brooklyn half in April! It's my first half marathon. Loved this vlog!
I want to do it one day! in the meantime ran only lightly😅
Good luck Chelsea💙💙
So in other words this is my sign to get off this couch and get moving , okayyy okayyyy I get it! 😂Another great vlog in the bag!
hahaha only if you want to! i'm struggling to get off the couch rn too 🤣
This just came up on my page. I can’t wait to watch your journey. I’m also training for the race and this will be be my first time running it.
I'm a slow runner too. I'm going to try the program you suggested 😊
You are so inspiring. I’m back to Pilates which I haven’t done in sometime. I play a lot of Pickelball but felt I needed more of other activities to do.. thank you for helping me thinking differently about taking care of myself..😅😊
I love how she presents her sponsors. You go, Chelsea!!!!
Not the roommate 😂 literally laughed out loud
clink gloop!!! ☕
