I have 1 sugestion. Don't tighten bushing bolt (large nut) all the way. Tighten nut with vehicle on ground or on ramps. When tightening hanging with put "twist" in new bushing when lowered to ground.

Thanks for the video. I used ramps for the first time and had some trouble getting the first bushing back in place. For the second one I only used a Jack with stands and in less than 10 minutes and the second one was in.

Thanks for the video! I just got home from Hibdon Tires Plus. Thought I needed an alignment, but they informed me that the lower control arm bushings were shot and you have to replace the WHOLE control arm. They quoted $690 to do it for me. I believe after watching your video I will be doing it myself now and save about 600 bucks!

Snug the main nut, put the car on the ground THEN tighten it fully. The weight will center the shaft in the center. Snug it too soon and it could set off center.

Thanks for the video, going to check those out today.I have a 2015 Acadia with 75k I am having issue with. At about 25 MPH I start to hear a front end hum & vibration and sounds almost like the tires. I can also feel it in the steering wheel as well. Tires are new and had them put on a few months ago. I even had them rotated thinking it could be a problem. I put in new front brake pads and still have issue. No play in the wheel bearings and does not seem to be excessive play in CV axles. The search continues, Thanks again for the video.

Able to get a look this morning at my bushings and sure enough mine are even worse than yours with the passenger side being the worst of the 2 by far. Ordering some today and will give an update as to if they helped or not. I hope this solves the problem.

this may help, had same problem with my wife's traverse, I could "feel the sound in the steering wheel" put new struts in and fixed my problem

@@jtark9341 thanks for the info greatly appreciated. I am expecting the lower control arm bushings Tuesday and will see what happens after I install them. The passenger side bushing is much worse than what is in video with the bolt almost contacting the metal. I am sure this is throwing it out of balance as I drive down the road.

Installed the 2 bushings today. Very simple. Unfortunately did not solve my problem which sounds almost like a tire hum that starts at about 15mph. I have manually checked the wheel bearings by pulling on both sides of the tires while in the air and have no play at all. found a large vacant parking lot and did figure 8s listening for a change in tone or pitch and sound stays the same. Talked with a mechanic today and says most likely the wheel bearings, so going to order a set of those I guess.

    • @bobjones5620

***Update*** Replaced the wheel bearings and sure enough it was the drivers side that was bad. Spinning it you could feel a slight grind. I was almost convinced it was the trans. There was no play in the wheel when lifted off the ground. No grinding noise when driven making sharp turns at any speed. The noise was like having studded tires on with a slight vibration in the steering wheel. Another heads up, replacing the wheel bearings on this 2015 Acadia with 75k miles was a beast. The hubs were stuck pretty good. Plenty of PB blaster and and your best to get a sledge hammer to smack the lugs and then maybe a smaller hammer to hit the only part of the back of the hub you can get to because of the brake shield being in the way. I watched quite a few videos of guys really smacking it. I was a bit shy at first, however after laying into it both finally came out. Hope this helps others...BTW Amazon had bearings for less than half of what they wanted at all the auto parts stores.

If that bushing looks that bad, just replace the whole lower control arm assembly. It will include both of the bushings and the ball joint. Only adds about 20 minutes to the process and you'll still have to get the vehicle sitting at ride height before the bigger bushing nut and ball joint nut is torqued to spec. A1 auto and TRQ have very good videos on how to do this. An alignment is recommended afterwards.

Now I'm just replacing the whole control arm with a new balljoint too.
The car is 16 years old.....everything is worn out. That's a throw away vehicle.....drive it a few years, trade it in....not worth the money in never-ending parts and service.
