2005 GMC Sierra 2500HD - Fixing the Air Conditioning System

- In today's 2500HD video - i fix the AC system in the truck.
The Air conditioning started to blow warm air and the first fix was to replace the AC Low Pressure switch. This switch is under the hood - and can be removed pretty easily.
The Second fix is to replace the HVAC Blend Door Actuator - the air was blowing out of the defrost vents - when it should becoming out of the dash vents. The air would only blow out of the defrost vents - and would not come out below the dash - or the dash vents in any mode. So I replaced the Blend door actuator - the motor above the gas pedal.
Tools/Parts Used:
AC Low Pressure Switch: amzn.to/3uDAGlK
HVAC Blend Door Actuator: amzn.to/3vKP6Sw

Thanks for posting man! Jumping the low pressure switch was super helpful. Another low pressure switch was the problem. 06 GMC Duramax fixed!! Appreciate the vid!
Glad the video was helpful!
Drove my truck almost a decade like this just to find out it’s a cheap little switch. thank you!
I know right? Stupid simple fix!
Thanks Bone crusher, FYI I had the same low pressure unit issue .I live an hour away from parts so after removing I decided to take the low pressure unit off and put it back on.
It worked fine.
I will replace this unit anyway.
Nice work!
Thanks
No problem!
My 03 just started doing the same will try the 20 fix and see if that helps
Hope it helps!
Did it work ?
I took mine off and did jumper and it worked but still blowing warm. Do you think its just low on freon?
Freon or ac condenser or accumulator are leaking
So those two are the same part number for actuators . One up above pedals and the easy one on passenger side? Part # 1572971
You need to check with GM - give them vin # and they should be able to set you straight. I mentioned in one of these videos - there are like 4 different parts numbers.
Hey Craig. Appreciate this video. I'm your "neighbor" in Denver. If I ever see you at LKN Brewery, first one's on me.
Hey Glen - I was there a a few months ago - and parking was a nightmare. If I go back it won't be with one of the cars - plus they have really good beer :)
Question for ya. My 2005 Silverado just got in for a smog I get home turn it off and the compressor keeps running. I turn it back on shut off the ac and turn it off and it just continues to run. Any idea what might be causing it? Everything was great till the smog today. If you have any ideas I’d appreciate thanks man
Unplug the harness going to the compressor - that should turn it off.
Why its continuing to run - double check the fuses for the AC compressor and hvac system.
That happened to me years ago, I bypassed it until I got one because it was baking outside.
It gets hot as shit down here in the south!
I did the bypass the compressor turned on replaced the switch and compressor still not turning on with new switch.
Does the clutch engage at all?
Is that a stock radio head unit?
Well - stock Escalade/Trailblazer unit. I got this off eBay - and paid for it to get reprogrammed to my truck VIN # - and it worked without issue.

I had a question brother my ac work but when I turn it it won't blow out only when I drive it will come out only wanted to know the problem
So is it only coming out of one vent?
Everything work but only when I drive
@@bonecrrusherSS the fan spin but no air coming in when it jus sitting there warming up only when I go in gear it will come out
@@monetsengnalivong6471 I have the same problem and no clue where to start did you figure yours out?
@@brittanibucco1377 check your condenser fan and freon level
Will this be the same in the 03
I think it should be for the Duramax and the 8.1.
You have it set on defrost?
No?
I purchased the dorman brand actuator and the damn thing already crapped out on me twice
I had that in for over a year and never had an issue.
My compressor is engaged but no cold air until its restarted 🤔 on a 2005 GMC
Do you still have refrigerant in it?
@@bonecrrusherSS yeah, and when the truck is restarted the cold air works flawlessly. I thought it was the blend door but switching to heat gets majorly hot and then back to cold is warm. So something is weird
OKay tHE way yOu jumped it mY truck doesn’t jump there but I can jump it from tHE relay switch .. sO wät can I try to test it
Not sure - hope you get it working.
Seems like you had a bad low pressure sensor and a blend door issue.
Replaced both of them.
My trucks ac just stays hot
Have you charged it?
