  • The Bell & Ross BR 05 is the well-known luxury brand's foray into integrated bracelet steel sports watch territory. Controversial at launch, it pulls inspiration from their well-known square aviators, as well as iconic 70's sports watches designed by Gerald Genta. But while similar to those watches, the BR 05 has two big things going for it - it's available and while not inexpensive, still under $5k.
    After a few weeks of wearing, Zach Weiss reviews the Bell & Ross BR 05. Be sure to read the full review on Worn & Wound.

    I actually love the design, there are some inspirations from Nautilus, but Bell&Ross DNA is clear as well. the fit and finishing are also very nice. I would never buy it for the retail price, but on the grey market they are selling 3500 on steel. And I think that's a fair price.

    You have to ask yourself. Do you want something outside of the box? Do you want to watch that you won't see very often on other wrist? Bell & Ross AD's are few and far between and there aren't any With a few hundred miles of where I live so I have no way of seeing one in the flesh but from the videos they look amazing and definitely tempt me because I've never really liked a square watch before now

    If this was under £2500 it would sell well. It's appealing and as you rightly say, conflicting - you are not quite sure how you feel about it. End of the day, I would pick an oris, Tudor or the new tag Heuer Autavia range over this - unless it's under 2.5k

      The key to owning any B&R is to buy used or gray market. B&Rs do not hold value.

    This is a Maurice LaCroix Aikon competitor and should've been priced as such. This has nothing on a OP, Speedmaster, Defy or any other 5K watch.

    It's a great model and I feel the best option is the black face on a rubber.

    I love the look of B&Rs but I cant say I love this one. Could they really not have tweaked the treatment of the numerals for a very different watch? It's like a submarine dashboard on a schooner.

    Yeah with a price tag like that a in-house movement is really needed.

    • @eliyahum4285
      @eliyahum4285 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Why? Let's say the set up shop and build their own movement that's nothing more than a Sellita or ETA clone, will that be OK. Even it they build their own movements, they're not going to reinvent the wheel when the wheel works.

    Very fair and nicely done review. As a fan of seventies design I quite like this, but if I was in the market I would 100% be looking for a preowned Glashütte Original Seventies which can be found for not much more money and is a league above this watch.

    I got my wife a Santos... I love the comfort... I have an apple watch... I love the comfort... I'm starting to think Square is the better comfort design vs round (especially on sport / 40mm+ watches)

    Great video, and it summarises the problems about this watch well. Good images and good review - you're just a little stiff in front of the camera!

    Zach, you are the best. As a Bell & Ross fan, I’m not going near this one. Too much mixed emotions here. I am not sure what the 05 line wants from us watch fans.

    I like, but don't love, this watch.My biggest criticism of this watch is the circle dial should fill the square more fully, there's just too much blank space (even with the screws). Thanks for the review, I hope you keep them coming... Your channel is my fav!

  • @meyoumovie
    @meyoumovie 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    The black or blue dial version may look better. $5900 for an S300 heck no! IDC if it’s sandblasted or not.

      don't be surprised but many independent non Swatch Group watch manufactures using Selita even in the higher priced watches... TAG Heuer, IWC, Oris, Alpina are just a few...

    I don’t agree with anything the reviewer said about this piece; I think it’s hideous. This guy however is very good in front of camera.

    • @Zanpaa
      @Zanpaa 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      With anything? So you don't think it's 40mm across? You don't think the hands look like Nautilus hands?
      I'm not sure he said anything that can be disagreed with, apart from the few times he gave his opinion on the look and the price.

    i would pay $1150 at most for this, lots of chinese parts in the movement (nothing wrong, but not at the asking price)
