Nissan Rogue Driveshaft Replacement

In this video, I take you to the shop with me to install the driveshaft on my 2010 Nissan Rogue AWD. This process may impose a challenge for those doing it at home, but it is not a difficult shaft to replace. The shaft had been causing a WHOLE vehicle vibration when driving over 30 - 70 mph and did not make for a pleasant drive. After locating that the joint had play at the ujoint, I decided (against better judgment) to replace the shaft as a whole instead of replacing the ujoint. Over all the shaft went in as it should and had a slight vibration at over 80mph, but it was able to be balanced out and haven't had a problem since. It's great and simple. I took my car to the shop and they charged a high price. My house doesn't have a car lift like yours. I don't know what to do.

Great work man!!! quick question by removing the driveshaft , technically you can also replace the Transfer Case Output Shaft Seal that is right there ? mine seems to be leaking.

Where did you get the new drive shaft from? I need one for my car. I had bought one from Amazon for my rogue and replaced it. Was easy to do, however the new one made a thumping sound so I returned it. The original one that came in the car had staked U joints so they couldn’t be replaced.
You mentioned that you had a vibration at over 80mph but you balanced it out, how did you do so? How’s it going so far?

Have a similar vibration at 30/40 MPH, I was thinking that it was a bad CVT, But I seen these videos. And I'm thinking its a bad Shaft.
So im assuming that the drive shaft needs to be replaced too.
I order mine, and it just came in. So ill be attempting to swap it out this weekend.
The difference from me, is im going to try to do it, By jacking the Rogue up, and putting it on 4 Jack stands. Hopefully that will give me enough room to work underneath the car. As i dont have a lift.

yes, it was the problem. I had my girl, step on the break pedal when I needed it to stop from turning the shaft.
Its a fairly simple process, Just get the Rogue up about 2.5 feet off the floor/ground.
Start at the rear, then on the front transmission, and then remove the outer bushing nut, make sure to remove the rubber mounts from the exhaust, to allow you to move the exhaust system to be able to get to the back bushing bolt. If you have a friend, have them take a pry bar, and move it back outta ur way.
