So, are the OEM 2011 Rogue AWD U-Joints replaceable OR, does a new driveshaft need to be installed? I've always replaced bad U-joints on older domestic vehicles.
Today, my neighbors mechanic told her "the original drive shaft U-joints are NOT replaceable and a new shaft needs to be installed $1,200. I question this.
You don't need to index the original shaft, because you are replacing it with a new one anyway..
If you are going to remove it for summer, and put it back for winter (for MPGs), then you have
to index it, and with more than a marker that will fade.
Does this need balancing once replaced ?
The center mount for the drive shaft under the heat shield has a access hole in the body to put a wrench on it or it just spin.anyone know the size of the bolt inside the access hole.
Why I was not able to turn it when the car was in neutral?

Do not replace whole driveshaft which is too expensive [ over $1000] . Just by PRECISION UNIVERSAL JOINT 341 about 40 dollars and replace it .It is very simple and save a lot money .The difficult is to know who to find correct number driveshaft joint
I wish I would’ve saw this before I bought the whole unit. The only thing broken on my was the ujoint
