Cheers !. If the driveshaft comes out you'll lose a lot of oil from the gearbox. You could probably position an oil catch pan underneath it as you work, just in case. The driveshaft is held in the gearbox with a spring circlip so it shouldn't come out too easily but, if it does, you can carefully slot it back into the gearbox. Just be careful not to damage the oil seal.
Great video. Working on a Nissan Figaro and the system is pretty similar with the Micra you are working on. Can't get the joint to separate from shaft at the moment in spite of how much i bang on it with a hammer. back at it tomorrow. Overall, great video!
Nice job, but i think is better to pull out whole shaft, plug transmision hole with something to protect any leak (any way will by not big leak, car is jacked up on one side) and replace both cv boots, always change both, you will need to do another boot in couple of months, you can do it at 1 job. And maybe more grease is good do use. I did it last week and I ordered CV boot kit and it was 2 grease sacks of grease for each cv boot.
Hey is still me, my micra wen i go over 100kmh the front of the car starts shaking do you think maybe i need to change the grece like you did on the video in order to fix it? (The tires are new)
There could be a few different reasons causing that shaking. It could be a problem with your tyres, wheels, brakes, steering, suspension, axle or engine. You'll really need to have a mechanic check that out and find the cause
Thanks!
Thanks for your support Sean !, I really appreciate it 👍

Yup. Really good again. What happens if the driveshaft comes out? Because that’s bound to happen when I do this job😀

Thank you, it should be the same. Just be careful not to pull the other end of the shaft out from the transmission !
