From one home owner to another, let me give you some advice. Ask your friends that own a home who they use as their plumber, electrician and general contractor, etc. When I've call them, they seem to be more helpful when I tell them that my friend so & so said to call you; especially being a woman they don't seem to give me the runaround or over charge me.
That is great advice!!!

Shayna, I have been watching your videos for years and you have become such an integral part of my life. You are the person who I have connected with the most through any form of social media, I literally consider you a friend!!! I have been backpacking the world for 3 years and when I find the time to rest, I ALWAYS come to your videos to relax and feel calm. It feels like catching up with a friend. My 2023 theme/word was "priority" and it really has showed as I've focused on my healing and taken care of myself, and prioritizing me. This next year's theme/ word for me is "perspective" I guess I want to see if I can change some things in my life and experiment/learn more. Finding myself by changing my perpective on life I guess, we will see hehe ❤
Your videos are truly something special Shayna. Sharing your thoughts and how you process things are so helpful. I would love to see a painting of the dream you had ❄️🪽 and possibly on a future journal. The first word that came to my mind for 2024 is FLOW, I need to practice letting things flow into place and to trust God to take me the places that are meant for me and stop second guessing everything… just flow through life freely.
Man I hear you on that one - let God take over. Why is it that we always feel the need to CONTROL everything?! We put so much pressure on ourselves and THAT keeps us from experiencing that steady flow of just GOODNESS, you know...lol. And yes, Shayna's videos ARE amazing!! We are very lucky to have her here.

The first time in my life I had the intuition, like two weeks ago, to come up with a theme for next year and I felt my themes are magic and pleasure. I want to find the magic again and I want to find things I enjoy and that bring happiness and relaxation in my life.
In year 2024 my word will be strenght. Strenght to fight for myself and my dreams. I need physical strenght and psychological strenght. I want to strenghten my relationships with people around me. And I wish to find strenght to be happy.
Interesting what you say about gifts. I needed a calendar and was obessed about it and, coincidence, my neighbour gifted a beautiful one yesterday of my favourite park next door. And today, I won 1kg of Rwandan coffee on Twitter! Awesome! Now I need to find a grinder, ah ah!
I had a very clear thought a few years ago that said, "I just want to sit and paint instead of journal some days" and I remembered I stuck myself with a really strict journaling schedule till it was a habit... so I did that with painting. Routines!
Now I just do both without thinking. Although if I go a full day without either I'm kinda like ... "is something up?"
My goals are to keep that up. But ad a few insta art challenges. (Literally anything. 😂 even one prompt!)

For me, my word will be GRIT. I'm working towards so many things in life and I need to have a deep sense of discipline to create the life I want to see.
I think this year the theme will be "rest." I have spent many years going 100 mph and I want to prioritize intentional rest, whether that is doing relaxing hobbies or actually getting more sleep lol. Both literal rest and the more chillax version haha
I am a day late but I cannot wait to embark on 12 days of magic! I literally took notes on every piece of advice and I am looking forward to what each piece shows me about myself. Thank you for your energy, your whimsical, magical, gypsy self. Much love from Indiana
The word I’ve chosen for 2024 is authenticity. I’ve really been struggling with what I want as an artist and even my commitment to my art so figuring out my personal authenticity will be my focus in the new year. 🎨🎸✨
I was happiest when I was in hospitals surrounded by pain, illness, death and energy. Because that 2 mattered.
I was happiest in Oxford understanding medicine from my unique perspective

This was posted a week ago but I still want to comment the wonderful realization I had thanks to this lovely video in hopes that it may help someone out there as well! This video made me realize I’ve never taken a second to list things I’m proud of. Never. It’s always been “ok, that’s done what’s next?” Because of this, I’ve realized I’ve spent every year making resolutions that basically just reflect all the things I’m mad at myself for NOT doing. Even in my affirmations I’ve realized they’re all written as “I am (insert something I judge myself for lacking)”. Everything is just me continuously judging myself! No wonder none of the resolutions come true! Look at this self-deprecating energy I’ve started each year with! So for this year, please join me in making a list of 23 things you were proud of yourself for accomplishing in 2023 so that our 2024 selves can be motivated by how far we’ve come and not how far we feel we are from our end goals :)
My word this year was joy, I really needed a lot of it! For next year I chose Energy, I really would like to expand it on a day to do basis.

Hearing this means a lot to me right now, thanks💓 I am currently going through a mediation leading to divorce next year. I was the one to initiate the breakup. Because of this (I had not realised this until literally yesterday) I been telling myself I was not allowed to be happy because I had made someone else so unhappy. I love the idea of writing poems daily. I used to write all the time! I love the idea of positive triggers. I love the idea of consistency over perfection.
