I LOVE the concept of creative rotation. I have been thinking of it all wrong. I constantly felt like if I’m working on painting, my writing is being ignored. If I’m making videos, my painting is being ignored. If I’m flipping furniture, my videos are being ignored. But they’re not. They are just out of rotation so that something else can flourish. I was today years old when this concept became embedded in my soul permanently. Merci beaucoup 🥰
I would've loved to hear some more about the financial situation as well. A master's degree and moving across the world isn't free...
Masters in France is basically free !
It's sad that the US doesn't value education or artists like Europe does
@@thepurplepalace85 but maybe mention... do you have to be fluent in french to get your master in france? In Germany, in Berlin, where I am it is free.. but half in english / half in german.. sometimes more ENLISH less German.. It depends. So ART.. in France MA/ must you speak FRENCH? thanks would help to know!

I am related to this interview as I found my way in Madrid this city is full of art and creativity. So yes sometimes you find your way outside your comfort zone.
God if I lived in Paris I would DIE to collaborate with you and just do this: sit down, ask questions, and craving creativity the whole way thru! From a painter to an extraordinare, you will forever give best friend vibes❤

I did one of those week long silent meditation retreats once and it was great! My mind was racing most of the time and the vipasanna technique never clicked for me so I haven't kept up with that form of meditation. But I definitely recommend attending the week long retreat at least once. It's actually pretty easy to stay silent throughout it and there are some opportunities to talk to the teachers to ask questions and you could of course speak up if needed.
But as for chatting throughout the week with cabin mates, you don't even feel the need to. Everyone is there to get the full experience so it feels very supportive to stay quiet. It's not for everyone though. A few people left after the first day. And on the last day everyone could talk and it was really fun to finally talk to my cabin mates and to debrief about the week together. Even though I didn't stick with that form of meditation, I am better at just being with myself and my hips opened up and are less tight, since we sat in meditation for about 6 hours each day. Also the food is really good 😊
Thank you for sharing this! It sounds like a really profound experience. I definitely want to do it eventually. (Also my hips are super tight so this would be helpful in that area as well haha)

Really enjoyed listening to you guys today . Enjoyed hearing about crop rotation. I do this myself. Like I have an urge to knit then after a time I need to sew or paper craft.

We need more of these videos! Would also be nice to have a variety of cultures as in people from around the world living in france being interviewed, although im sure thats already in the plans. Would also like to know how and what inspired you to want to create everyday, I'm a creative but have trouble to create, i have the ideas and desires

Lovely interview, I'm excited to keep following this podcast :) it's always interesting, as a French person, to hear Americans dream about my country (I was the same with England growing up :))
PS: Would you consider getting a microphone for this series? I have to say it's a little hard to follow at times bc of the audio quality - so I played the video pretty loud but it wasn't super comfy. I can recommend the Rode Bluetooth thing with the 2 mics, super easy to work with. It's a bit pricey but worth it imo ❤

I really enjoyed this episode of Paris Artist Sessions! Nicolette is charming! Aquarius and Capricorn? Very interesting! A close Aries friend told me it's impossible for Aquarius and Capricorn to get along. I'm an Aquarius and I disagree. I had a Capricorn friend and we got along very well until I sent her an email by mistake that was about her but it was cute and every friend said there was no way she'd be offended over it, but she was, and she dropped me as a friend. In saying that, she gets offended over just about everything and hasn't spoken to her own sister in years. My offense was this: One of our friends gave her a bottle of wine at Thanksgiving. The bottle was never opened because she doesn't drink due to her former alcoholism. So she gave the bottle to another friend who gave the bottle to me. In my letter I explained how I enjoyed every drop because I was celebrating something wonderful that had happened in my life. Instead of seeing the story as cute and being happy for me she dropped me as a friend. I'm not saying that every Capricorn would do the same, probably not.
I really liked Nicolette so I will subscribe to her channel.
I get you Shayna. lol I have ADD too. (self diagnosed) I can come across as airy and oblivious and not listening to what others have to say because my mind is always turning,, but I don't miss a beat. My Aries friend once said it can disguise one's brilliance because often people are judged on the surface without seeing the depth. He told me that I'm one of the most brilliant people he knows but that I am often seen as airy. I have a feeling this applies to you too, Shayna. lol 🧚✨💫

I have found the only way to assuage the restless void that seems to come with being an artist,was to focus not on the created(universe,stars,earth)but the Creator Himself,that studying ancient scripture Aquainted me a a very different god than the one presented to me growing up.The peace was lasting,the guidance and unconditional love ,the wisdom and purpose I found in pursuing him far surpassed the counterfeit versions I had tried ,the new age hamster wheel of striving for zen left me exhausted,but oh the joy and inspiration of finding and trusting Christ healed all and set me up to truly start creating authentic expressions of the heart via art.
