Fujifilm glass hold there value far better than the latest new camera. At the end of the day the quality of the lens will make the most difference to your photos
I'm a hard sell, but you convinced me. A couple months ago, I sold my X-Pro2 to buy the X-Pro3. After a month or so I decided the X-Pro3 didn't have anything I couldn't get (that I need) from an X-T3. B&H is tempting me at $1200 this week for the X-T3. Then I got thinking maybe I'll just get a Fuji 10-24 instead. Then I almost decided to get both that lens AND the X-T3. You brought me to my senses -- so I'm ordering only the lens (at $800). That means I'll have to struggle along with my X-T2 (and X-T10 and X-Pro1). I'll see what an X-T4 looks like maybe a year from now. You make good sense -- and you're entertaining. (Also in NJ here) Thanks.
So true!! I only upgraded to the X-E3 last week which is my first X- Trans III body. I used to shoot with an X-T10 and an X-T1. Although I think this gap is much bigger than from X-T2 to X-T3. I knew the autofocus performance would be much better with this generation but I did not expect such a difference!!! I kept my X-T1 as a second body. Usually, I buy second hand when the price has dropped enough but usually this is gear from a previous generation. Still does the job!!
@@roni910 Sure it takes some getting used to, especially since the X-E3 is so small but I actually love the rangefinder style (it is my first rangefinder style camera) and the fact that everything is accessible with one hand. We'll see after days of shooting if the small size gets unconfortable...

I own an H1, T2 and T3 and I agree with you 100%. The EVF is noticeably better but only when you compare the T2 to the H1, which I did and then had to have a T3. But the difference is not great and the EVF on the T2 is very good. I’ve heard this about the T2 being better in low light. Better how? The T3 has 2 more mega pixels which means their pitch is smaller so VERY slightly more noise at high ISO. In that case the T1 beats both in low light and in fact probably does in producing less noise. The T3 focuses better and faster in low light, but not that much faster. You almost need to own both to notice the slight improvement. Got a black T2 and silver T3. I am set until the T5. Now maybe I can concentrate again on actually taking photos. If you’re not a big video person then THE best deal in any camera right now is picking up a T2 at $999.
I have the X-T2 & X-PRO2 instead of getting the X-T3 I bought the Godox AD600PRO it is a beast, so much power I had to back it away from my subject to get the power low enough! 🥰
Great video! You are absolutely right, manufacturers want us to upgrade equipment all the time and it is mainly about them making extra profits. I have an XT2 and it does everything I need very well and I have no need or intention of upgrading any time soon. It's nice to see a review that doesn't just rave about the latest technology. Also, very well-made and funny review. Thanks for telling the truth.

I have xt10 and i spent extra money on 35mm f2 and 23mm f2 and it’s a great package. Xt10 great camera, 16mpx is more than enough for instagram and regular prints
Picked up my first Fujifilm camera in 09-2018, found a screaming deal just before Christmas for a XT-2 and bought it. Nope, no need to upgrade. Have to divest some Nikon gear that I really love, but the size of the Fuji is just easier on the old body. Plus, the Fujifilm cameras have made photography fun again, instead of dreading lugging all the extra weight around.
Last year I came SUPER close to getting a sweet X-T1, but I caved and got the X-T20 instead for the benefit of shooting better video. It still feels brand new and cutting edge to me, and I have no desire for the next gen! I just wish Fuji would go back to making more compact and affordable primes. We need a Fuji version of the Rokinon 12mm f/2 and a Mark II update for the 35mm f/1.4!
I own an XT-20 and my biggest reasons for at least wanting to purchase an XT-2 are the better auto-focusing (eye, and tracking) capabilities and the ability of the screen to swivel out to its side instead of just up and down. The conflict here is whether the XT-2 will be just good enough, or if I should take the dive into the XT-3. If anything I'd like to know what made XT-2 users justify purchasing the XT-3.
LOL. Good advice. From last year, I noticed that some of my favorite shots of my children were done with my X-Pro2 with manual focus lens. My favorite zoom is the 16-55 coupled to the X-H1. And my children took some amazing shots with the X-E2 coupled with the 27.
Thanks for the advice. I just stuck some tape on my old Canon 50d with "Fuji X-T4" written on it. Love my new Fuji, but I'm a little surprised how the pictures look the same as my old Canon.
Hi Omar! Just wanted to say that I really like your channel. You’re absolutely right, the product cycles are getting shorter and shorter while in most cases the advantages of the newest hot stuff are just incremental or even nonexistent for the average user.
I own an X-T3 and an X-T10 and to my surprise I mostly use the X-T10 because it's lighter and there's not much of a difference in IQ at the end of the day. Also, I like the metering better on the X-T10 in most situations.
Great video Omar. I shoot with an old X-Pro1 and an X-T1. With the firmware updates I'm very happy with the performance of both cameras. You my friend are the voice of reason with the mirrorless product cycles.
Great video, really enjoyed it. I started out with an X100T 3 years ago, I loved how it just made me want to take photos but I also started looking at the wide and tele conversion lenses for it. I didn't go down that road, - it's a short road anyway and kinda works against the idea of the X100's. Instead I bought an XT-2, really glad I did. I keep changing the lenses I have for it, at one point had both the 16-55 and 50-140 thinking I've got the red badge zooms that's all I need. The nice thing about the system is you can buy and sell lenses and not take much of a hit ( I think I made £20 on the 50-140 !) So now I mostly have the 14 f2,8 and 23 f2 on the camera. I also have an 80 f2.8 not sure why haven't taken a good photo with it yet, maybe one day, part of the fun is just having a beast of a lens in my kit. Since the XT-3 has been announced I've been tempted but thanks to this video I'm sticking with XT-2 much obliged Omar :) So instead I'm going to get a 16 f1.4 and see if I need that or the 14, maybe I need both, deep down I know the kit doesn't matter but buying it is a drug.
My XT1 dials now need a wrench to move them, but i will not get rid of it , off course if the dials dont work or the shutter died, no choice, wait, there is, buy another XT1 in mint condition for $300.
I love my XH-1 and havn't seen anything to make me want to change it (it has nothing to do with losing so much money if I sold it or exchanged it!). Great video...refreshing.
No Omar, I don't need an X-T5. I was inspired by your Ugly lens purchase from KEH and found myself a lightly loved XT-3. Keep up the great work, yes... I'm watching your current stuff too. Request: Can you do a night street photography video featuring the XF 33mm F1.4 lens? I'm curious to see what you get out of it. Thanks!!
Whew. Was having 2nd thoughts about my XT2 (which I bought cheap after XT3 came out), but I really need the low light capability so I'm feeling much better.
Still rocking the XT1 (and an XM1) and acquiring lenses, but mostly distracted by the room: we just painted my upstairs-Cape-Cod-style room the same color as your back wall, it's like you're in my house.... :)
The X-T3 sounds neat, but I just l-o-v-e my X-T2. FWIW, my X-T1 still gets a lot of use, too. I tend to fill the frame so much that I end up cropping only enough to straighten the shot, so I can live w/16MP pretty easily. I am also more interested in investing in a little more really good glass. Digital bodies are temporary, good glass is forever!
Hey Omar. I'm torn between X-T3 and X-T2 for my secondary body camera. I owned Fujifilm X-S10 and I loved what can the camera produce its excellent!. but I rarely shoot videos just stills and little bit of street photography. Hope you can help me decide. Great videos btw !
1:08 actually, the X-T3 complains when you try to use your older batteries ... )-: It wants the brand new NP-W126S, and three if you use the battery grip. A juicy additional 200 bucks just for batteries ...
Now to stir things up a little bit more. I don't have a massive budget as I'm just your everyday nine-to-five worker however I do want to get an X-T3 or even an X-H1. So now that you know my position am I better off just to get myself a second hand X-T2? Will I notice enough difference in the X-T2 for my low light Street photography that I won't need to upgrade to an X-T3? By getting myself a second-hand X-T2 will mean that I have a little bit of money left over to get myself possibly a better lens for low light. I would be keen to know your thoughts on that since you seem to be quite practical yet charismatic.
Omar You're so Funny and Entertaining. I Don't Care about the Hype that Most people try to get is Fuji X-100V and upgrade every New Camera coming out X-T5 bigger body, bulkier. Beside I Don't need 40 megs pixels. I Don't Fall into that Crappy Trap. I'm always do my Research before making my Decisions. I'm thinking to get X-T2 in Mint Condition with a 23mm F2 Fuji lens.
and if you wanted to dabble with the fuji system? i shoot 75% stills/25% video? xt2? xt20? xt1 and ignore the video side? i look forward to any thoughts you care to share. thumbs up.
Thanks for your enjoyable explanation. To me, gear is important but your creativity is far more important than your gear. If you fallen into GAS attack you never appreciate the capability of your gear that you already won. Once again I enjoy and love your content brother Omar.

Okay, you are so right, so, so right, but...the silver version is sooo cool looking...
I would like to purchase the new XT3 just because of the new Tethering feature the USB Type C. That tether and charge your camera at the same time.
Just what I needed after a long week at work.. A Omar video...YOU ROCK!!! Thank you..
I was debating getting an X-T2 when the X-T3 was announced, but in terms of film and video, which was my deciding factor, I had to get the X-T3.
Still rocking a Nikon d7100, after a d90, after a d40...all bought used.
Why!?!?!? I was perfectly happy with my X-T1 and now I need to upgrade!!!! I kidding... Or am I??. Great video, Omar!
haha...DO IT!!!! (that's a test)
I love my XH-1 and havn't seen anything to make me want to change it (it has nothing to do with losing so much money if I sold it or exchanged it!). Great video...refreshing.
Benny Hill music - loving it!
Boots Randolph - Yakkety Sax
No Omar, I don't need an X-T5. I was inspired by your Ugly lens purchase from KEH and found myself a lightly loved XT-3. Keep up the great work, yes... I'm watching your current stuff too.
Request: Can you do a night street photography video featuring the XF 33mm F1.4 lens? I'm curious to see what you get out of it.
Thanks!!
Whew. Was having 2nd thoughts about my XT2 (which I bought cheap after XT3 came out), but I really need the low light capability so I'm feeling much better.
I have an X-T2. Tried the X-T3 for two minutes and I was convinced I don't need it. It isn't going to solve my few issues with the camera.
Still rocking the XT1 (and an XM1) and acquiring lenses, but mostly distracted by the room: we just painted my upstairs-Cape-Cod-style room the same color as your back wall, it's like you're in my house.... :)
Nice video bro. I just bought the fuji xt3, before i only used lower end cameras, fixed lenses. Finally stepping out.
Digital bodies are temporary, good glass is forever!
great point.
Hey Omar. I'm torn between X-T3 and X-T2 for my secondary body camera. I owned Fujifilm X-S10 and I loved what can the camera produce its excellent!. but I rarely shoot videos just stills and little bit of street photography. Hope you can help me decide. Great videos btw !
Same here
I'm big fan of your videos, when ever watch your videos so much of fun arround the way you explain the details really awesome. JUST LOVE IT!!!
I ❤️ ur video Omar have u got any video about fully setting for Fuji xt 2 because I am getting 1 for my self
I absolutely love this. Laughed pretty hard! Thanks for talking me off the ledge.
1:08 actually, the X-T3 complains when you try to use your older batteries ... )-: It wants the brand new NP-W126S, and three if you use the battery grip. A juicy additional 200 bucks just for batteries ...
Really? :(
@@ogonzilla It works with the old ones, but you get an annoying error message.
Ok.. you fixed my GAS syndrome. You answered it all in the video. #Nailedit
Thank you
Omar You're so Funny and Entertaining. I'm thinking to get X-T2 in Mint Condition with a 23mm F2 Fuji lens.
and if you wanted to dabble with the fuji system? i shoot 75% stills/25% video? xt2? xt20? xt1 and ignore the video side? i look forward to any thoughts you care to share. thumbs up.
Compare and contrast the EVF lag on the 2 versus the 3 versus the 20. Thanks.
Hi Omar - love your videos. Moving from DSLR to Fuji. X-T2 or X-T3? I don't shoot video. Your thoughts?
The X-T1 is still an excellent camera, and I'll never sell it.
Sell it? I just bought a backup! They're crazy cheap these days...
Totally agree, My X-T2 does me just fine!
I just pre-ordered the XT4
Haha...
Thanks for your enjoyable explanation. To me, gear is important but your creativity is far more important than your gear. If you fallen into GAS attack you never appreciate the capability of your gear that you already won. Once again I enjoy and love your content brother Omar.
Thanks so much!
Hi omar, I'm still confused whether to buy xt2(great offer nowadays) or xt30? This will be my first fuji camera. I will use it mainly for family events and vacations. Cheers!
Owner of an X-T20 here. Mouse cursor still on "add to cart" button. Pls send help.
Riccardo Gabarrini haha.
Great video. You described a very logical approach to upgrading to the "latest and greatest". You've made my wife very happy because I won't upgrade my X-T2 ( right now).
This is still relevant to me in December 2021!
Fujifilm X-T2 good enough for wedding photography?
I use flash/Octa.
