I'm so happy that digital cameras have moved to an era where the image quality is basicly perfect in all of them and we can just focus more on personal preference. I mean of cource it has always been like that to some extent, but in the last 5 years it has really become more and more true that every camera is more then good enough for almost everything.
I upgraded from an X-T2 to an X-T4 so I'll add my two cents for anyone who may care or be in the same place. Not to disagree with Omar here, but I will; IMHO the only reason to buy (note: buy not upgrade) an X-T2 or X-T3 over the X-T4 is the money. It's a better camera than both in every regard. Not wanting to have so much $ wrapped up in your camera body is 100% valid and if that's the case, get a used X-T3 if you can swing it. If, however, you're thinking of buying the X-T2/3 over the X-T4 because those are "just as good", they are not. There will be no difference in image quality between the 3 and the 4 as it's the same sensor, however, the benefits of IBIS should not be understated. It's a game changer. I don't know anyone who shoots only in perfectly sunny daytime conditions. If that's the case, use an iPhone 11 Pro as it will take stunning pictures in good light. IBIS makes previously ungettable shots gettable (I know that's not a word) and greatly expands options in poor light. Ever want to take a shot at f4 or 5.6 in low light in order to achieve the depth of field or sharpness you're looking for? Guess what, the X-T4 can do it, the 2/3 can't without bumping the ISO way up to unusable levels. That alone is worth it to me. The IQ between the 2 and the 3/4 is 100% noticeable to my eye. Even in Omar's example here in the first minute of the video, I could see the difference. Put it up on a larger monitor or a TV and it will be extremely apparent. If you don't think you need the video stuff, I didn't either, but now that I have the 4 I'm finding I shoot video more often. It's so easy and seamless and I'm really liking the results especially with OIS lenses. The flippy screen on the 4 is annoying for the first couple days but you'll get used to it and it really is better for video. The larger size is really negligible. You can't fit the 2, 3, or 4 in your pocket comfortably so you'll end up bringing a bag or strap and, at that point, who cares? If size is that big a concern, get the X-T30. The larger size is actually more comfortable to hold in my hands especially with the larger lenses (YMMV of course). Sorry to prattle on but I hope it helps someone! I agonized over the decision and more points of view is always better than fewer.

I am a Canon EOS R owner, but I must say, you hit it out of the ballpark with this funny and entertaining intro! It was so nostalgic it brought a ton of memories from the 70's and 80's when I used to watch the boxing fights on TV.
I got the X-T2 and X-T3. I love them!! My husband is using the X-T2 now. We just bought the X-T3 recently although the X-T4 came out already. Best decision ever.
I have own an XT2. Do you feel like the EVF on the XT3 is actually larger than the EVF on the XT2? And do you notice a difference between the two EVFs? Thanks so much!
Here's my issue with the flippy screen vs. not having one. ( I have both styles on different systems) I like them BOTH: I appreciate the flippy in difficult- and tight quarter- shooting situations where I need to have the screen at odd angles to frame a scene which my subjects may be moving...or to position my body at a 45 degree angle to discretely shoot this or that and still see the screen; or for helping a subject frame themselves selfie style etc. etc., but when I am out and about with my X-T2 with "just" the pull up/down/vertical screen, I love the compact nature of it and seldom miss the flipper. Each is just a tool in the end and as many sensible pros point out, it's ALL about how you will use said tool and if you actually need this or that feature.. (For me it's similar to the feature of a million frames per second or whatever shooting stills; I mean, not being a sports shooter earning a living by getting just that ONE moment in a million, I simply do . not. care. at. all. This goes also for the megapixel wars.(Anyone remember the Canon Rebels with what 10, 12 m's? I still have shots in my portfolio from this! Not to mention my film cameras) Anyway, back to the flippy vs not having one, I'm sure it's easy for me to say this because I've worked with an an articulating screen for years- perhaps I'm bored with them(?) but yeah, there is just something I really like about the X series without it. Can it be practical to have a flippy? Sure. Will you look like Uncle Bob with a camcorder? A little. (*but who cares haha.) But what do YOU need for YOUR needs in real life...in actual terms of usage? Don't be the guy who spends thousands just for the thrill of having the latest and greatest only to sell it for hundred months down the line...or the guy who has the latest and greatest camera but can't use it because he can't afford data storage space, a pc to edit the huge files, lights, better glass, fuel or means to get where you need to be to shoot. etc. etc. etc. Learn to love what you have and you'll have what you love. :-) Only upgrade if you genuinely neeeeed it. Ok. I'm done. Get the flippy. Get the non-flippy. Just get on with your life and capture life. Ok, NOW I'm done. Promise. :-)
Love this video! I am a happy owner of both! As a pro, still shooter I had two XT2s but upgraded one to the XT4 and don't feel the need to have two XT4s. Best of all worlds!
I own an xt3, flip out display looked very cheap to me, all my cheap cameras has that, the articulated display has a very pro feeling I love it... Also I have to admit... Xt2 iq is absolutely beautiful, colors and tonal range is more beautiful than xt3 and xt4... Theres something on the sensor that puts character to each image, xt3 and xt4 are kinda plain, more for editing but xt2 is beautiful without making any adjustment
Thank you for saying that. I own an xt-1 and xt2. And everytime I look at images on Instagram from the xt3 I can't help but think that they don't impress me as much as the images I see from the xt2 or the xh1 would share the same sensor. I've thought about upgrading to the three or the four but honestly I think I'm just going to stick with the camera bodies I have. And maybe get a couple more lenses LOL! Cheers!
Best camera review intro... EVER !!! You're so cool dude !!! Very interesting because I'm considering an X-T4 and maybe an X-T3 would be enough for my needs as a compact APSC kit (I already own a complete Sony Alpha 7 set for serious work). Thanks and keep going with that kind of useful and funny videos !
As a still photographer, the only things that make me want to upgrade the XT2 are the new sensor and IBIS. It would make my 90mm f2 much more usable in low light. However, there are many things I don't like about the XT4. Replacing metering mode with video buttons is a big blow for me since I change metering all the time. The fully articulating screen is also not very useful for me compared to the tilting screen. All in all, I still stick with my XT2 and am waiting for Fuji to release a photographer-focus camera with a new sensor and IBIS in the future.
Since 2017 switched from Canon to XT2 for weddings and 2019 bought XH1, love it. Not planning to upgrade till at least 2024. Worked with EOS 5DMk2 for 7 years.
Paulo, having Canon FD lenses since 1978 and EOS later on, I just bought Fuji X-H1. Love it! Canon may have lost a madman on their gear. Always extremes answers to modern gear, forgetting all those advanced amateurs that follow them for ages. My question: do you use any adapter(s) for Canon lenses (L, mainly, of course) to your Fuji? Which ones would you recommend if so? Obrigado ;)
@@PauloParreira Olá Paulo. By now, my X-H1 has only the 16-80mm f:4 I bought recently. I intend to go on with another trio of Fujinon lenses, bu I still keep a lot of Canon gear. That's why I asked about any adapter known by experience. I'm studying a great list for both my FD lenses and EF lenses (wide and tele), with 0,71x and without: Viltrox, Fringer, Fotodiox Pro, K&F, Metabones and Novoflex. Ufff! I though you may had kept any Canon lens and so the adapter. Thank you anyway! Boas férias e bons clicks ;)

I never laughed so hard when the intro panned up to you and you having that "I just got caught look playing with my cameras". Hilarious . Keep up the great work and thank you
I went from the X-T3, to the X-H1, to the X-T4. and then dtched them all for the X-20. Loooove it. The trans 3 is my favorite sensor and anything bigger is too big. Thank you Omar!
Great video. I am a happy X-T3 owner and no plans to upgrade. With that said, while the price of the X-T4 is approaching full frame, you need to consider the cost of lenses and the size of lenses. IMO, that is where the cost of ownership analysis needs to be considered.
I’ve only just upgraded to an xt2!!!!! I bloody love it! I think I’d love the 3 but i just didn’t have the money or I’d prefer (as a hobby photographer) to spend it on making memories to take photos of. FAB FAB FAB VIDEO!!!! X
Great intro Omar - that was hilarious and well done! With regrets I’m selling the X-T2. I have the T4 and H1, and Fuji is my “A” system, so I’m not really concerned about getting the smallest sized camera. In fact, the T4 and H1 feel better with the 16-55 & 50-140. But you’re right - the T2 is a heck of a camera and if I didn’t have the H1, I’d be happy with it as a B and street cam.
If you don’t need the faster af, the -6EV lowlight focusing, better battery life, better af tracking, better face/eye af, and IBIS then the X-T3 is a good choice.
Great video Omar, you have a point on the pricing in which there are a lot of other choices out there within the price range. But I think when buying a Fujifilm is like getting into a culture. The feel, the looks, the lenses, and the photo output from the jpegs.
Totally agree. I picked up a used X-H1 for decent money and I wanted to try it out. I now have three fast primes to accompany it that I would never have considered with either my X-T20 or my full frame canon setup. Nb, the canon gear is now gone 😁
@@garethmcfarland7244 Honestly the sensor stabilization technology allowing for Primes image quality and light capabilities to be maximized has been a game changer. I have always love photography and got myself a canon system with my first few weeks of pay on my first job. Yet after that I never could afford any other lens from Canon. Forward on to the Xpro1 and a great sale I got into the fujifilm system. The lenes are fantastic quality, and the are a great price for what the are. The quality the images from the sensor on the xpro1 and xh1 (I also got a fantastic deal on this) means no processing on the computer for ever photo as they are all pretty much spot on. I'm so glad people are moving to Fuji as they are a great company. Bringing out updates to a Camara made in 2012 is amazing, customer service is spot on.
@@TheCoomer Absolutely. I own lenses now for my Fuji that wouldn't have dreamt of owning on my canon system. Furthermore those prime lenses for canon generally don't have stabilisation so it's a double whammy.
@@garethmcfarland7244 I have also noticed Fujifilm is now catering for those who want small lenses and for the larger lenes which if for more studio work. Best of both worlds
What do you mean with your comments about the viewfinder? At one point you thought you picked up the X-T20 instead of the X-T2, because the viewfinder looked small. They should be the same in size, no? If anything the X-T2 has slightly higher magnification than the X-T4 (0.77x vs 0.75x)
Yes, and now even the new GfX100S very much adapts the X-H1 layout... so, however unsuccessful Fuji claims the X-H1 to have been, it has a hardcore following (I love mine!), and it’s such a good experience that the newer cameras inherit from it.
Still have 2x XT1 bodies I love the colour science of this camera sensor the XT2 is still in my stable but now my X-H1s reign supreme. It will be interesting to see what the X-H2 brings over the XT4 hopefully in 2021 !
X-T3 BABY! Fuji should have kept the X-T line photo centered and improved on the X-H line as their "Hybrid"(H) offering. Their APS-C Line should go like this: ~X-Pro Range Finder classic photo ~X-T SLR Style pro photo ~X-E Range Finder compact photo ~X-H SLR Style Hybrid photo/video Great videos, keep I up brotha. Love your podcasts too! Tell me what you think.
Got the xt-2 a couple of month's ago used. Came with the 23mm f2 and 2 og battery's. Love that camera. Got a 14mm 2.8 and a 35mm f2 in the last 3 months. Thinking about the 55-200 now.. Honestly I think I'm going to get the xt-4 but about 2-3 years from now. I much rather widen my lens collection first..
Goddarnit Omar.. how did you even end up becoming a photographer? You sure could've made a career in animation voiceover/comedy. This is probably the best video you've ever made.. I nearly died laghing!
Thanks for another great video Omar. Spot on with your review. For some of our fellow photographers the choice maybe down to their budget. For some video features maybe be important and for others photography.. In my experience generally all the fuji cameras have given great photo results and are now giving great video features. So I suppose as you said it's what suits your needs in your choice of camera you purchase.. but! remember! The best camera you have, is the one you are using. Just enjoy your photographic journey.. thanks again Omar. You make your viewers Smile. Cheers Steve
I have an XT10 and an XT2. I don't plan on upgrading any time soon. It's like when you get a new mobile, maybe a "faster" one comes out the following year but it doesn't make your existing one any worse
I notice the difference between the two sensors. The 24 MP is a better sensor for details and noise, that’s all their is to it! I have the X-T4 and I’m not happy about how badly the X-T4 handles hair, the X-T2/20 never muddied the hair like the newer sensor does and I’m debating just dropping the X System because of it (I’m talking the 16 F/1.4, 23 F/1.4, 35 F/1.4, and the 50 F/2, so I’m not using bad glass). Waiting to see what Fuji says about this before I decide.
I still use an X-T1 which doesn't even have the rubber grip anymore, haha. Planning on upgrading to X-T2 soonish! Maybe next year? Seriously, the X-T1 to X-T2 was the greatest leap forward for my uses and it's so good value now. I need neither IBIS nor video. I'd like the X-T2's improved speed (shorter black screen interruptions), better sensor and improved AF.
Lol that intro was truly entertaining. I love my x-t2, never even considered needing to upgrade. However, I am thinking about getting the x100v for a different form factor and shooting experience.
See a few commenters have already mentioned it, but my money (soon, literally) is on the middleweight contender, the Fujifilm "Goldilocks" X-T3, because it is available at a sweet $999 price tag right now (new, body only)! That's an incredible deal for many of the same great features of the X-T4 catering to both stills and video shooters. Only $350-390 more than a nice used X-T2 and $700 less than a new X-T4! Winner!
I habe a XT3 and a XT4 for portrait photography. I strangely prefer the XT3 over the XT4. I often "feel" it's sharper? I used the XT3 with a grip; I don't need one on the XT4. I was angry on a new battery but the new one lasts for a shooting with 1000 pictures and still has way enough power left. I bought a second battery I never used in month.
I upgraded - mainly for IBIS and better autofocus (used to have a Canon 80D), no doubt X-T4 is the better camera even without the video improvements. But.... was offered so little trade-in for my X-T2 I decided to keep it for backup, lighter weight situations or doing dodgy things where the camera might get damaged. Best of both worlds? P.S. the new battery is awesome
I've had an x-t20 for the past six years and love it, i really do and wont get rid of it. However I increasingly get frustrated that i need to delve in to menus / switches and focusing using the lower d pad button. It was particularly noticable to me when on holiday I want the full dial experience and have just today received a minty second hand x-t2. I've just popped out for a first snap session. I love that i now have all three exposure triangle as dedicated dials and to ficus with the joystick (like on my x100) miss a dedicated iso
100% true. I hope they somehow magically manage to make the X-T40 both much smaller, have the new battery and maybe some form of stabilization. It will become the actual best Fuji in the line-up. As much as I would love the X-T4 you are indeed moving into Sony A7 territory.
Still an XT20 fanboi. Buy three second hand give one to a friend beat the other to death and just carry on shooting. Brilliant street camera if you don't really care about bells and whistles and know what you're up to.
Great intro! The X-T4 fully articulating flippy screen 🤮. I bought the X-T3 and X-T4 and I kept the made in Japan X-T3 and sent back the half baked X-T4. At $999 right now, it's a no brainer. Maybe next time if Fuji installs a screen similar to the Panasonic S1H that tilts and flips and doesn't interfere with ports I would buy it. I would like IBIS for vintage lenses but the OIS 10-24mm and 16-80 or 18-55 are great for video.
Great comparison. I'm a proud XT3 owner here and definitely think it's a good compromise of capabilities, physical features and size-- though there are instances when I think it's a bit too big (I have a sammy nx500 that way more portable!) I feel like I was a bit too harsh in a previous comment about you not liking the xt4 because its not the xt2, and if so I apologize. You lay out your reasons very well here.

@@StefanoScali yes, it has clean hdmi. You just need and hdmi to USB adapter. I use the full 50f2 , my Nikon 28mm 2.8D, and other Nikon lenses in MF mode. It works great.
seriously, one of the funniest things i've watched all day....AND made me feel good about owning the good ol' XT2
Ive had an. Xt10 since Jan. My xt2 arrives tomorrow and im thrilled. Your videos are the best.
Don't forget about the XH1. Almost the same price as the xt2 on the used market, same features and with sensor stabilization
Here's my issue with the flippy screen vs. not having one. ( I have both styles on different systems) I like them BOTH:
I appreciate the flippy in difficult- and tight quarter- shooting situations where I need to have the screen at odd angles to frame a scene which my subjects may be moving...or to position my body at a 45 degree angle to discretely shoot this or that and still see the screen; or for helping a subject frame themselves selfie style etc. etc., but when I am out and about with my X-T2 with "just" the pull up/down/vertical screen, I love the compact nature of it and seldom miss the flipper.
Not to mention my film cameras)
Anyway, back to the flippy vs not having one, I'm sure it's easy for me to say this because I've worked with an an articulating screen for years- perhaps I'm bored with them(?) but yeah, there is just something I really like about the X series without it.
Promise. :-)
I call the flippy screen the "Cat Mode." It's great for getting low-down shots of my cat!
Love this video! I am a happy owner of both! As a pro, still shooter I had two XT2s but upgraded one to the XT4 and don't feel the need to have two XT4s. Best of all worlds!
Your channel is really underrated. You have a great presentation style most broadly covered topics. Loving my time here.
me too
I own an xt3, flip out display looked very cheap to me, all my cheap cameras has that, the articulated display has a very pro feeling I love it...
Cheers!
Still happy with my xt2 as a 95% stills shooter and since I don't even have all the lenses I want yet, the money will be invested there first :)
I'm glad I ever stumbled upon your channel.
Videos like these are the main reason and your great sense of humor.
Obrigado ;)
@@AMiguelOliveiraPhotography Olá Miguel. I switched all my gear. Xt2 + 18-55mm / Xh1 + 50-140mm / 10-24mm and a Xm1+ 27mm to play around.
@@AMiguelOliveiraPhotography Olá. Still own a 400D with Sigma 18-200mm but not using it at all. Just hoping to sell it. Infelizmente agora, os cliques são muito poucos visto que os trabalhos foram todos cancelados ou adiados para o próximo ano.
The amount of effort that went into that intro is INCREDIBLE. I think Omar is my best friend
Due to this video, I bought a refurbished x-t2 from fuji as my first camera. Thanks man!
I never laughed so hard when the intro panned up to you and you having that "I just got caught look playing with my cameras". Hilarious . Keep up the great work and thank you
You just made me smile today. Thank you Omar, I needed that!
This intro is everything 😂😂😂 love it bro !
Now we need more camera fight videos from you. You missed your calling as a ring announcer!
Meanwhile my xt1 and I are sitting over here just chilling 🤣🤣
Lol Omar are you ok? Too much lockdown? 🤣😂🤣😂🤣
José Colón yes thats the right question , the video is great an funny , i hope he is relaxed😉
@@joeeagle9531 he ist like this all the time, no need to worry 🙈🙉🙊
I went from the X-T3, to the X-H1, to the X-T4. and then dtched them all for the X-20.
Loooove it. The trans 3 is my favorite sensor and anything bigger is too big. Thank you Omar!
As a boxing fan that was one of the best intros on any video I've seen. Period. Keep them coming, Omar
Just finished replacing shutter button on the board, never gonna let my salvaged X-T2 go away! With X-T20 they make such a cute couple!
XT2 is legend, a sweet spot.. Great intro Omar 👍
Still rockin with my xt2 ✌🏻😁
This intro needs a fullscale Hollywood reboot !
The ending as well, actually !
THIS THE BEST VIDEO YOU MADE OMAR!!!!love it!!!
"XT2 vs XT4! Which is better???" XT3!!!
Ikr. The xt3 strikes such a balance for $1000
If you don’t need the faster af, the -6EV lowlight focusing, better battery life, better af tracking, better face/eye af, and IBIS then the X-T3 is a good choice.
In the movie Alien vs Predator..Chuck Norris was the winner....
@@TheIkaika777 scrap most of your points, with firmware version 4.0 the xt3 comes very close to the xt4 for a fraction of the price
@@Broodjemetbeleg, yes, if you don’t need/want IBIS the new firmware for the T3 makes it close to the T4. I chose the T4 because I need IBIS.
Great video Omar, you have a point on the pricing in which there are a lot of other choices out there within the price range. But I think when buying a Fujifilm is like getting into a culture. The feel, the looks, the lenses, and the photo output from the jpegs.
I would buy the X-T4 for the simulations alone ! Xp
Definitely one of my favorite Omar videos! Intro was deadly and super entertaining.
Oh, having the Image stabilization in my xh1 has made all my primes so much better.
Best of both worlds
love this! Thanks Omar, sticking w my ever handsome XT2!
X-H1 all the way!
+1 I just love the shoulder display. Would not use a DSLR without one - so how could I live without it on an EVIL?
@thofol It’s cool reading “EVIL” and “ILC”; so few remember the nomenclature required before “Mirrorless” became the umbrella term.
Yes, and now even the new GfX100S very much adapts the X-H1 layout... so, however unsuccessful Fuji claims the X-H1 to have been, it has a hardcore following (I love mine!), and it’s such a good experience that the newer cameras inherit from it.
This was SUCH a pleasure to watch - love your style!
Great video. I have my XT2 and really do not feel that I need to upgrade. Still a great camera.
Still have 2x XT1 bodies I love the colour science of this camera sensor the XT2 is still in my stable but now my X-H1s reign supreme.
It will be interesting to see what the X-H2 brings over the XT4 hopefully in 2021 !
Still have my XT2 and love it. Well I had it for 2 years
X-T3 BABY!
Fuji should have kept the X-T line photo centered and improved on the X-H line as their "Hybrid"(H) offering.
Their APS-C Line should go like this:
~X-Pro Range Finder classic photo
~X-T SLR Style pro photo
~X-E Range Finder compact photo
~X-H SLR Style Hybrid photo/video
Great videos, keep I up brotha.
Literally yesterday sold my X-T2 for $650 and ordered X-Pro 3 in sexy Dura Black, this video is on time!
BTW You're such a talented video maker Omar!
I bet you had a lot of fun making this brilliant video!
Next level intro! Your content is always refreshing and enjoyable. Keep it up!
In Lightroom the 2 images came from the same camera -xt4, you can read it at --3:04-
“Did you see anything?!?” “No sir. I didn’t see you playing with your cameras again, sir!”
You got the reference!!!!
Classic line!!
1 2 3 4 5...
Fujiballs
I still use an X-T1 which doesn't even have the rubber grip anymore, haha. Planning on upgrading to X-T2 soonish! Maybe next year? Seriously, the X-T1 to X-T2 was the greatest leap forward for my uses and it's so good value now. I need neither IBIS nor video. I'd like the X-T2's improved speed (shorter black screen interruptions), better sensor and improved AF.
My family owns an X-T2, X-T3, and now an X-T5. We love them all.
Lol that intro was truly entertaining. I love my x-t2, never even considered needing to upgrade. However, I am thinking about getting the x100v for a different form factor and shooting experience.
Your intro seriously got me. You have a new subscriber!
This is hands down your number 1 video and the best comparison between these two bad boys 😅
That intro gave me life. 10/10 amazing. Amazing!!!!!!
Winner!
I love the introduction of this video. Very cool and creative !!
With the switch to the articulating screen I see the X-T2 as the superior stills camera. That really is a dealbreaker for me.
Still an XT20 fanboi. Buy three second hand give one to a friend beat the other to death and just carry on shooting. Brilliant street camera if you don't really care about bells and whistles and know what you're up to.
I loved the intro! Great summary Omar!
I would love the X-T4 even when i can't afford it if it didn't have the articulated screen xD. Had a lot of fun watching your video!
Excelent reviews ... candid, focused, and very useful ...
Best intro ever. Much better than some over-glorified B-roll from other channels.
Congratulation, greatest intro so far!
I own an XT3 and I am more than happy. Great video btw. :)
Great video! I got XT1 and am pretty happy with it.
Love my XT2, the only thing i wish I had is the IBIS because I adapt a lot of vintage lenses to my XT2.
I didn't realize that they started making some of the XT3s in China. Interesting...
Great review - your points are spot on!
Hey Omar, Simply love nearly all your videos. The title sequence of this one was really entertaining. Thank you!
I have just grabbed a X-T2 last month and I love it.
Great comparison. I'm a proud XT3 owner here and definitely think it's a good compromise of capabilities, physical features and size-- though there are instances when I think it's a bit too big (I have a sammy nx500 that way more portable!)
I feel like I was a bit too harsh in a previous comment about you not liking the xt4 because its not the xt2, and if so I apologize. You lay out your reasons very well here.
