Ah, gotcha! To clear up the confusion and get your soundbar working right, here’s what you should do: Check the Ports: Look for the HDMI port on your TV labeled "ARC" or "eARC". That's the Audio Return Channel port. Connect Correctly: Take your HDMI cable and plug one end into the ARC port on your TV. Plug the other end into the HDMI OUT (ARC) port on your Vizio soundbar. TV Settings: Turn on your TV and go into the sound settings. Make sure to select “HDMI ARC” as the speaker output. This will direct the audio to your soundbar. Soundbar Settings: Turn on your soundbar and switch it to the HDMI input. This might be done automatically, but it's good to check.
Had the same thought issue with the 2.0. Just fixed it; turn tv speakers off then press the second button on the soundbar, hold down for a few seconds then release and it will turn green.
@@peonyflowers23Omg you are a life saver I just spent an hour fooling with this.. came to yt and read your comment it worked in 2 seconds 😩😂😂😂 you’re the 🐐 Thank you so much!!!
Sounds like a bit of a glitch with the small speakers. Have you tried resetting your soundbar? Sometimes that can help sort out any kinks. If that doesn't do the trick, Vizio support might be your next best bet.
I used to use the Vizio TV remote to control the sound bar without using the soundbar remote. Then my wife bought me a beautiful lighted night light that you use a separate remote to control that. That's when it over rode the TV remote volume control, and now I have to use the soundbar remote to control the volume. Which means that now I have to use two separate remotes to switch the channels and the volumes. How do I fix it so that I'm using only one remote for both? Thank You.
you got a bit of a remote control juggle going on there! 😅 So, here's a quick fix you might wanna try. Since your new night light's remote messed up the sync between your TV and soundbar, you'll need to re-pair your Vizio TV remote with the soundbar. Usually, this involves holding down a specific button on the soundbar (like the power button or a dedicated Bluetooth/pairing button) until it enters pairing mode. Then, you go through your TV's settings to find the sound output options and look for a way to connect to the soundbar again. If that doesn't work straight off, check out the manual for your soundbar or do a quick search online for "how to sync Vizio soundbar with Vizio TV remote." There's a good chance someone's had the same issue and found a solution that'll work for you too. Worst case, if it's all getting too tricky, you might want to look into a universal remote that can control both your TV and the soundbar (and maybe even that fancy night light!). They're pretty handy and can save you from the remote shuffle.
Hi i have been trying to get this 2.0 vizio sound bar to work with my tv for a week im just confused with this whole thing so i have an old seiko tv 8 to 10 years old it has hdmI on the back it also has audio out many different things but the tv menu for audio doesn't have a way to change many of the settings that seem to be required for this sound bar can you help? Thanks if you can
Since your Seiko TV is on the older side, HDMI might not support ARC, which is what usually lets the TV control the soundbar. Here's a quick thing you could try: connect your soundbar to the TV using the "Audio Out" port on your TV. If it's an optical port, use an optical cable. If not, you might have a regular 3.5mm audio out; then you’d just need a cable that fits. After hookin’ it up, go into the TV’s audio menu and turn off the TV speakers, that way it’ll try sending audio to the external speaker-your soundbar in this case. Give that a shot and let me know if it starts singing! If it's still silent, we might need to dive a bit deeper into those settings or try a different connection method.
Yeah, flipping it upside-down might mix up the left and right audio channels. You'd wanna keep it right-side up to make sure everything matches up sound-wise.
@@hifiaudios8101 But the Vizio Quick Fit process requires the soundbar be flipped upside-down in order to use the mounting brackets. That's why I'm worried about the sound being flipped around as well. th-cam.com/video/QmMAEGBoS3E/w-d-xo.html
Great catch! You're right, if both your TV and soundbar support eARC, connecting to the eARC port on the soundbar will give you better audio quality. Thanks for pointing it out! 👍🔊
Depends. HDMI In will give you the best sound available that your soundbar has, it's just a different way of connecting to get the best sound. It's important for HDMI 2.0-based soundbars as ARC doesn't allow for lossless audio, only lossy like Dolby Digital, DTS, and Dolby Digital Plus. eARC is for HDMI 2.1 and will give you the same results as HDMI In audio-wise, but the picture is going through the TV and not the soundbar. I will also note that even though there are pros to using eARC, there are also downsides like many people getting audio lag for Atmos content, while HDMI In is less prone to it. And there are very few systems that support gaming features, like VRR, 4K 120fps. Right now, eARC doesn't have a humongous advantage. Lastly, eARC doesn't need to be HDMI 2.1, but that's when issues arise. Oh, and yeah he does awkwardly place the HDMI cable from the TV's ARC input to HDMI In on the soundbar in the video, which is incorrect.
Yeah, hooking up the soundbar through HDMI does take up a port. If you need all your ports for gaming, you might look into an HDMI switch. They're pretty handy for adding extra ports without constantly swapping cables.
Hey there! In this video, we're focusing on connecting a Vizio Soundbar to a TV. However, for your Hisense Roku TV, you'll typically find the expert settings in the "Settings" menu. Just grab your remote, hit the “Home” button, and then go to “Settings”. From there, select “System” followed by “Advanced system settings.” You should find the expert settings there. Hope this helps! 👍
to connect an additional device to your TV with only one HDMI port, consider using an HDMI switch. This allows you to connect multiple HDMI devices to a single input and switch between them.
Vizio doesnt work with roku tv, no matter what i do, i did everything in the manual and with my remote (model SB2920-D6) but it wont connect. Swear ima sell it
If your soundbar has a USB port but you don't have a USB cable, no worries. You can try connecting with Bluetooth or an audio cable (like an AUX or optical cable) if your TV supports it. Check your TV's ports and see what options you have.
Vizio and Insignia are both brands that produce consumer electronics, including televisions and other devices. If you are having trouble getting a Vizio device to work with an Insignia device, the issue might be due to compatibility between the specific models you have, rather than the brands themselves. Here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue: Check connections: Ensure that you are using the correct cables to connect the two devices, and that the cables are securely connected. HDMI cables are commonly used to connect devices like TVs, soundbars, and media players. Check input/source settings: Make sure your Vizio TV or Insignia device is set to the correct input or source. You can usually change this using the remote control or on-screen menu. Update firmware: Ensure both devices have the latest firmware updates installed. You can usually find firmware updates on the respective manufacturers' websites. Check compatibility: Some devices may not be compatible with one another due to differences in features or technology. Research the specific models of your Vizio and Insignia devices to ensure they are compatible with each other. Consult manuals: Refer to the user manuals for both devices for information on proper setup and troubleshooting.
Check connections: Make sure all cables are properly connected between the soundbar, speaker, and your TV. Double-check that the cables are plugged into the correct ports. Verify input source: Ensure that your TV is set to the correct input source, corresponding to the device you're trying to get audio from (e.g., cable box, streaming device, etc.). Check audio settings: Go to your TV's audio settings and ensure that the audio output is set to the appropriate option for your soundbar setup (e.g., external speakers, soundbar, or audio system). Adjust the speaker's volume: Ensure that the smaller speaker's volume is turned up, either using the soundbar remote or any controls available on the speaker itself. Test the speaker: If possible, test the smaller speaker with another audio source, such as a smartphone or a different TV, to determine if the issue lies with the speaker itself or with the soundbar/TV connection.
Hey there! Connect it to the HDMI ARC port on your TV. ARC stands for "Audio Return Channel," it helps simplify the setup by allowing audio to travel both ways using a single HDMI connection. Make sure your TV's HDMI ARC is enabled in its audio settings. Hope this helps!
Oh no, sorry to hear that! If your soundbar isn't powering on, try a different power outlet or check if the power cord is properly inserted. If that doesn't work, it might be a technical issue. Reach out to Vizio support for help. Good luck! 👍
Bought a Vizio new 0807 model 50in 4k TV and bought an optical output only soundbar, turns out the exact fucking tv model I bought doesn't have one, it doesn't have anything but 3 HDMI ports, and so I have to return without a box, a fucking soundbar because Vizio TV's are utter BS and don't include any other way but to funnel the sound through one of the only remaining HDMI ports, God forbid you have a game system that needs hooking up too, not a soundbar problem but a TV that advertised it was optical ready and then put in tiny letters that it might vary between models on a completely other side of the box, is complete BS I never thought I'd need to start taking them out of the box to see if it's actually the model displayed on the box istg
Maybe you could try an HDMI ARC audio extractor. It can split the audio to an optical output from one of your HDMI ports. That way, you won't have to return the soundbar. Just check to make sure the extractor supports 4K if that’s what you’re going for.
Totally get you, just wanna see it in action, right? Alright, just plug the HDMI from the soundbar to the ARC port on your TV, switch the TV's audio output settings to the soundbar, and you should be good to go. Quick and easy!
If your TV doesn't have HDMI-ARC, you might want to grab an optical cable instead. They work pretty well for soundbars too. Hang in there, once it's all set up, it'll be worth it!
