I was one of these people that didnt believe it at first becuase I've had two diffrent roku TV's and could never get any other soundbar to work with it other then a roku soundbar. It would have sound while on the roku home page but in apps there wouldn't be any sound, I just bought my vizio soundbar yesterday and tried to hook it up to my Hisense Roku tv and it didnt work. I was gonna return it today but I thought I'd give it another try and BOOM! After I watched this video I plugged in the optical cord and help the power for 5 sec and now it works on all apps!!!! Thank you so much

Good video. Mine will say "hdmi". I also had to go into Amazon Firestick and choose settings for a soundbar. When I was finished with all the steps, the sound only came from the TV. Could it be a bad hdmi cord> that was my son's guess.
Just received this as a hand-me-down from a family manager and the soundbar will not turn on. Is there any way that the power cable needs to be replaced to fix this issue?

I think the trick did it when I actually turned on a show and then clicked the Input button to allow it to then search for the connected speaker and it started working! Prior to that, it was on Bluetooth and just spinning and spinning (the LED lights were searching and searching but I think the problem was I wasn’t in a video! 🤦🏻♀️) So thanks again because now we are golden!
Great video sounds dumb but my audio cord wasn’t pushed in far enough. Found out that you can check that by the red light that comes out the tip when it’s connected

Nice, this helped me out after picking up a hand-me-down. Weird thing though is the audio does not want to play whenever the optical cable is plugged all the way in on both ends. I have to leave one end plugged in loosely. 🤔

@@gadchampanda2951 it ended up needing to be turned off and turned on a few times unplugging it from The optical on the TV and just giving time. This video I believe helped
If you use the optical audio cable, make sure you are in PCM audio. On your tv, in the audio section of the tv's setup, PCM will be one of the kinds audio to choose from. The list includes Dolby, ATMOS, and such. Without being in the PCM mode, the optical audio cable will make your picture & sound be out of synch. And you will not have control of the bass & treble. Mine had the bass booming to an absurd degree. Almost like if a program showed an ant marching by and each of it's steps were a thunderous boom. Once I got it on PCM, things were fine. Sadly, the TCL tv brand demands that you buy a sound bar. I was hoping to learn about all the buttons on the remote. Alas, the Vizio website leaves us low & fro as does this video. I'm not a sense-around audio kinda guy, so my older, but same, version's audio is plenty good. I bought mine in 2018 at clearence for almost 50% off. It has the the same remote as in this video.

with a firestick you go into settings and manage equipment, Roku should be similar

No, I had another wireless router hooked into it. I could use the frontier modem as a router, but the signal wasn't great.
