Absolutely brilliant. I got the answer/solution I needed within 1:40 of this video (my unit was set to TV speaker instead of soundbar). My partner used to do all of this techy stuff for me & my family - he was a music producer before he died suddenly at the age of 30 the week of Christmas last year 2021, and now I feel totally lost without all of his help & support. He would've worked this out in 10 seconds probably, lol 😉 But thanks to the internet/youtube & to people like you, I was not left totally helpless. So thank you SO much for this! Many blessings to you. Stay safe & well everybody 🙏❤️

This is true, however, most Soundbars don’t support eARC yet. In the future when most Soundbar support eARC this won’t be an issue anymore.

    • @JonahMatthes
      @JonahMatthes  4 ปีที่แล้ว

Glad you enjoyed the video! If your TV doesn't have an HDMI ARC port then no, it will not work. You will need to connect your soundbar via Digital Optical if possible. If you don't have a Digital Optical port on both, then use AUX or RCAs. Hope this helps!

So I have the nakamichi 9.2 system and neither configuration in regards to my XFINITY box is working properly. If I hook the XFINITY box directly to the sound bar I get a Dolby digital connection and it sounds great but for some reason the XFINITY box shuts off randomly hooked up this way. The other configuration of booking the XFINITY box to the tv only gives me a pcm signal, which obviously doesn’t sound as good.

Just connect the audio/video source directly trough HDMI input in the soundbar. Then you connect the Soudbar ARC to the TV ARC to pass the video content. CMIIW

I have an old LG LCD screen and I connected it to a Samsung soundbar h400/zx, with an optical cable. I have a Roku and, a cable box connected with HDMI to the Tv but when I open youtube or anything on Roku or anything from the cable box I hear some sort of cracking noise, like static. sometimes it's very strong, others barely noticeable but it's always there. It's not the soundbar because when I connect anything through Bluetooth the cracking is gone. Obviously, the audio settings on the Tv are very limited, what can I do with that cracking sound, should I connect it with the 3.5 jack and coaxial? I'm about to give up and live with the cracking noise.

I have never had one as you can tell.TIA.

Any reason that a soundbar suddenly starts "buzzing" and you can only stop it by pushing the electric plug into the back more firmly to get it to stop?? Then it starts buzzing again, with static? It's a VEATOOL from Walmart, so it was cheap to start with, but I'd like it to work.

Other than lip sync issues, is there any other reasons to not use Bluetooth (or other wireless methods)? I have a Samsung TV and Soundbar that we're basically matched at purchase - same manufacture year etc... Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are the connection methods I've used so far, no sync issues but am I getting the codecs processed the same way as if I was using hdmi or optical? I'd rather not have to use HDMI as the bar itself only has a couple of hdmi ports (one of which is the arc channel) and I have several things connected as I have multiple consoles etc... so really need the hdmi ports on the TV itself. Wireless methods have helped here but now I'm wondering if I'm actually getting all the channels/codecs coming through properly.

Question: I just received a Yamaha soundbar and a SHU sub... I tried hooking it up to my bedroom TV (Sony A9S Oled 48"), The light's are on on the Sub, I have the sub connected to the Soundbar but there's no sound from the sub. The soundbar plays but not the sub.
    Suggestions?
    Thank you
    Joe

If you connect it to a 8k tv and you plug your new game system to the 4k soundbar with it decreases your quality of the 8k picture

Jonah- Thanks for sharing. I just purchased a 7.1 surround soundbar. Which connection option should I choose to get the full 7.1. I thought optical would be it but it sounds like its not. Thoughts?

I have a 2023 LED C3 65" tv & LG Sp7r Meridian soundbar kit. So the LG soundbar only has a HDMIARC port and a HDMI port. You say I should not use arc port since I'll loss quality on high end notes. So if I plug the HDMI cord from the hdmi soundbar port to TV do I then just plug my bluray dvd player directly into TV since the only hdmi port left on the sound bar is the HDMIArc port. OR, since this TV is a 2023 model, would the ARC HDMI port be able to go up to 7.1 ch vs only 5.1 as you said in video. THANK YOU for your help. :)

All righty then. So a couple few years ago I bought a Yamaha ATS-1060 sound bar soon after I bought an LG 55UK6500AUA TV. I couldn’t get it to work and just recently tried again. Using Bluetooth, I could get the test sound to work but the remote wouldn’t set up on either of the 10 possible choices. Nothing worked at all using the HDMI ARC. Whucha think, should I just get an LG soundbar?

Hi, I just purchased a new soundbar(Samsung A550) and I want to connect it via Arc on my TV, but I’m just now noticing my brand new QLED TV only has 2 HDMI ports, that leaves me in kind of a bind. Can I plug whatever HDMI I have to take out in order to plug the soundbar in and put it into my soundbar and it will still function like normal? Like can I plug my firestick into the soundbar and it be completely free from my Tv? That seems weird to me, but I’d love to hear your thoughts, thanks!

A year later.. I have a soundbar from Sony has eArc, have a OLAP TV (it's great but... it sometimes fights with it's SONY Soundbar "friend).
I have a few other components like a PS5 connected, a FireCube, and a NS Switch and a few other items. Where should I connecte them through? I'm looking for a hub solution - this is where the devices come in and this produces the sound/best intepretation. I am an application/IT guy and recognize that this a pipe dream based on the various competitive direction, technology advancements, capabilities and such... but I'm just looking to maximize what I have today and look at how to fix/improve the solution and I'm more about more wiring into our home.

I have a hue sync box that everything is connected to in order to have my hue system link up colored lights with whats on screen. Ill be getting a Sonos arc on the 12th and wonder if this is the proper set up.
All devices (Playstation 5 and amazon tv.... might not connect amazon tv anymore due to just using PS5 for media also) and then my hue sync box into the Sonos arc HDMI input, then connect another HDMI to the sonos arc HDMI ARC run the cable to my TV's HDMI ARC. Would this be the way to do it for the best experience? Thank you for your time

Hi , wonder if you can help . I've just purchased an LG HOME THEATRE SYSTEM and I have it hooked up to an LG TV . at the original set up I was able to access the speaker setup but as the speaker werent exactly in the position they would finally be placed at I did not adjust any of the volumes but all were working , producing sound. After connecting via HDMI AND OPTICAL , I then found the sound sync option and paired both together and its now showing the LG TV on the theatre unit and confirms sound settings as Bluetooth. Everything is working fine but the rear speakers need to be increased , but I cant get back to the speaker screen . The LG TV remote is now controlling the theatre system and the theatre system remote does not allow me to do anything. How can I get back to setting the speakers up again ? The tv is also set up to a sky q 2 box and the sky remote is set to control the tv and the theatre sound levels . Hope you can help - Thanks - Jay .
