Thank you! I needed to troubleshoot my "accessory" connection (formally known as a cigarette lighter) and wasn't sure how to access the back. So easy and it's working now! This was way easier than tearing into my 2003 Xterra!
Thanks. had to open it up to superglue a smashed-in console. I noticed the power jack shouldn't be put in too deep. everything is working fine. Thanks again.
the video is very instructive, however the overhead angle is just not working, at least for me. It looks weird and it is very hard to see from this angle.
Seems like you know a lot so I wanna ask. The sound in my 2016 frontier has been cutting out of some time and the internet send replace all the stock speakers, which I did, but I'm still barely getting sound for maybe a couple seconds before it cuts out again. Any tips? I heard it could be a fuse or short but idk about that stuff
Correct me if I'm wrong but the blue antenna is for powered antennas that are motorized hence the power to them....you'd only use that for Infiniti model cars because our harnesses used are the same. You did it but there's no motorized antenna to be used on lol.
You would think that, however, the antenna in most Frontiers/pathfinders needs power for it to work, its simpler to use that cable then just using a switched power lead. If you dont, from what I remember when I did this, you will have bad or no reception. I did not test it with or without, I just went with what I read to do for this truck.
There are two red and grey wires that run to different things. one red and grey run to "interior lights system" according to my chilton manual. The other red runs to the Front Right speaker and the other grey runs to the Right rear speaker. How should i go about testing which is which?
Do you recall if there’s a part number sticker somewhere on that plastic trim piece? I want to replace mine cause it’s scratched up but I narrowed it down to three different potential part numbers: 68259-9BF2C 68259-9BF7C 68259-9BF0C
Good morning, I bought all the same items you did, stereo and wire kits, I have a question, the black ground did just connect the black lines or did you put on a separate screw for ground?
I personally used the one in the harness and it worked fine for me. I have seen people have to ground to the metal though if you have issues with the radio not working.
Harness for my new radio has 1 orange/white wire marked “illumi”. The adapter harness has the same wire but also has an orange/black wire “illumination ground/dimmer ground”. Did you use these wires?
Aaron Limbaugh it’s been a little while but I know there were some wires for steering wheel buttons that my vehicle did not have. So obviously didn’t use those. Didn’t use any of the orange illumi wires. If you’re new stereo has car play then you will need to ground the wire on the radio harness labeled “park”
Very cool that you made this video but personally I just have a walmart bluetooth FM transmitter always plugged into the power in the center console. Does NOT look as cool as yours.
I hope you see this comment because I’ve been working on this for hours and can’t seem to figure out what’s wrong. My head unit just won’t power on and I have no idea where to start trouble shooting. Any ideas what I could have done wrong?
Check your power and ground. The accessory power and the main power cable and the ground is all you need to power the radio up. Also check your fuses, if there was any crossed connections you could have popped a fuse.
Thank you so much for the reply. Can I ask what you did with your ground? Did you connect it via the harness or did you have to put it on metal? I keep getting conflicting answers about Nissan vehicles.

Thank you for this vid if it wasn’t for you we wouldn’t have known where to connect that blue wire

does this set up powers up he tweeters on the dash?

Any videos on how to remove the dash part under the radio where the cigarette lighter sockets are?
Thanks that turned out well.. I might have to do this down the road if i get tired of using AUX

@@ScrapinNet wow I'll check I just wired my radio last week.
Thanks!!!
Did you use a steering wheel control adapter? If so PAC SWI-CP2 or Metra ASWC-1?

Nice job! By the way what was the white connector for, at 2:30?
The one that you said “this one doesn’t have” beside the barcode sticker?
It’s the airbag

Scrapin thank you for the help, I installed and all was great. This was a very helpful video 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks! :)

somcop13 I have the same question. What did you do and did it work?
Aaron Limbaugh it’s for the dimmer switch. My vehicle doesn’t have one so I just didn’t use those wires
somcop13 what wires did you not use I have 2-3 that I’m debating on using or not. Thanks

Can these radios in the 2015 Frontier be reset? I get no stations tuning manually or scanning,

how to remove hvac control below that radio??????
Where did you get the replacement plastic piece for the stereo?

I used the harness one. The black wire. I did see some stuff as well about grounding to metal on some vehicles. I didn't have that problem though.
Where did you buy the new center plastic piece for the new a/c radio?
Amazon. Links in description of video. This is the wiring harness and the mount. amzn.to/2HQyeS8
Just make sure this mount is correct for your year. You will have to look and make sure the holes in it line up with the AC controls you have.
Can i just bring my Xterra over so you can install a new radio? Lol
this was horrible because of the constant camera movement
I can't do without my steering wheel controls
does stock radio needs a code? im replacing it bacause cd is not working but im staying with another stock radio
thanks
