Dean, a huge thanks for what you do. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. I’ve been out of the car audio game for a long time. Just bought a 2022 Frontier and you gave me the confidence to install my own audio system. Thank you!!
I have watched so many of these Installer Diaries over the years and I am not even a pro installer. I have used so much of this information to try things on my own car. Stuff I never would have attempted without this channel and it has become a hobby. I am so thankful for Dean and Fernando, they provide so much information and I love the top quality of the work. Still can't believe we have access to this level of expertise on TH-cam. Appreciate you guys! P.S. Love the editing :)
I’m in the super beginner part, was close to getting a system installed and I got hooked on these install vlogs lol I might still go get it installed, kinda nervous to try anything ( I really don’t want to mess up my car lol I can’t go back to riding the train at night )
My front came with sound upgrade ..not sure what is in it but sounds great..the sub is factory in same position...I would hate to see my dash ripped like dat 😂
It isn't terrible, I got everything from crutchfield, for an every $20 or so, they will wire up the harnesses, easily worth it. So outside of 2 wires, it's pretty much plug and play. Just make sure you use the correct harnesses. I was having problems with the backup camera, and eventually we realized I forgot to connect one of them.
@@brentleedy79 im getting an android headunit but got told by vendor that i will lose back camara because of harness. Im trying to find out if can get a harness that doesnt make me lose it.
That's more about the head unit capability than anything. The guys at crutchfield are awesome. You can put in your vehicle year, make, model, what capabilities you want, and it will suggest head units, harnesses, everything you need. If you didn't already buy, probably worth it to check it out. Maybe talk to them at least.
Dang....your attention to detail is amazing. that was a seriously clean install. but install video i have ever seen. actually made me question weather or not i want to try it myself. a little more complicated than some of my past installs.
A few weeks ago I just started a utilities job and they gave me a 2018 frontier as a work truck. Well, I actually demanded they give me that one lol. Nothings under warranty except drivetrain from enterprise, and it has a blown drivers and tweeter. I’m so excited to replace them, even if it’s out of my pocket, I gotta have my music man! 👏🏽
I'm doing a little pre-game planning before I dive into a full install in my wife's 2018 Nissan Altima and was hoping to find a full system install video from you guys. Dang it 😬. Although I moved on from being a full-time installer over 20 years ago, I still do a few cars a year for friends and select longtime customers. Anyhow, this install is unique for several reasons. Not only is she my beautiful and amazing wife, but she's extremely particular. She's also profoundly deaf. It may surprise many people out there, but she's absolutely a music lover, as much as anyone I know in fact. She just requires more volume to enjoy the same listening experience. That being said, dash, front and rear doors, rear deck and 3 sealed 10's on a pair of four channels and a mono-block. I'll be using an Audio Control LC7i for now with the factory head unit, but will be gathering parts to upgrade while retaining the usual functions and controls. Anyway, I'm rambling. The thing that really makes her setup unique for me as an installer, is the setup. I'll need to tune the thing to be absolutely as bullet-proof as possible since she isn't as keen to identify distortion and clipping as other people might be...but now that I think about it, I've had plenty customers that can tear up a steel ball. 😂 Anyhow. Sorry for the long winded rambling. Love the content fellas. Keep it coming!
Hi, you guys do great work. Are you able to install a wt7600nex on 2010 MX5 ? The sim slips out so I’m wondering if you can do a solid custom install. Thank you
I got a nice head unit for my birthday and was excited to put it in my 20' Frontier SV. After this... might just return it. It's going to be another 5-700$ just to install it.. ugh.
I have a question about the stereo "shield" wires in Nissans from the accessories. Are they terminated in the original stereo unit? For example my Juke has a shield wire for the backup camera, microphone and USB port. And should they be connected behind the stereo with GND like a star with it being in the middle, to reproduce the original work from Nissan?
Why so much Kenwood gear in the installs? 20 years ago, their head units were all anyone really highly considered their gear for. Now I see 5 star using many of their 5 channel amps and door speakers. Have things changed with Kenwood since back in the day?
Good afternoon from Nashville! To test polarity, I have the polarity checker and it came with a disc to play that "popping" sound. Most aftermarket decks do not have cd players anymore. What do you use via bluetooth to get that "popping" polarity checking sound?
Have you ever done a video on the same Nissan Frontier with the Rockford Fosgate system. Basically just looking to replace my head unit but wanting to keep the Rockford Fosgate system. How easy is it to do? Is it a plug and play install? If so what harnesses do I need. Thanks. Michael
NIce, I've been looking for a good example of an install on this model of Nissan. Quick question, What do you do with the factory speakers when you do a swap?
Man, it's worth the few hundred to pay someone who knows what they are doing to do this. These adapters/cables/maybe/might work is not worth the absolute hassle.

Gone are the days of connecting 10 wires, and good to go. So much more involved now. Doing my 17 frontier next week. Hoping the Kenwood works out.

This has got to be one of the best audio install videos I have seen on this app. Thank you all so much.

Awesome video! Thanks for showing all the details.
1:45- the dual axle Nissan Frontier is my favorite version. One of the few shops that do these super rare conversions.

Morning from Massachusetts
Nice enjoyable system there.
Whats up guys from Sarasota!!
Do not watch when hungry. Every time Dean mentions the speaker model, I'm craving some fried chicken.
(I ordered me some chicken)
I wish you could install on my 2017 Frontier for very detailed and very professional at your craft!

Nice job! But after watching this I lost all desire of doing the upgrade myself :)
What was the part number for the 20 pin to retain the backup camera

Hey. Pinknoice what is the point ? Why not just tune bas mid and high so its sounds good?

I have been running Kenwood everything since the late 90’s. The stuff sounds great and is an awesome value.
@@FiveStarCarStereoInc Probably my own past bias’s at play. Thanks for the reply.

Sheffield labs “ my desk” on iTunes. I’m sure others have it also

They did. But a while back. Your going to have to scroll forever. And they they rewired the whole thing as for as speaker wire..
Michael did you ever figure this out cause I'm having issues trying to figure it out myself. Mines an 06 nismo with the rockford footage system.
Have u installed onkyo android head units yet ? Can you suggest a good android head unit ?
Hey where did you find the 40 pin wire harness?
When is a new Altima video coming up???
Great stuff, Thanks for sharing.
I have to ask. Alpine Wired CarPlay, Wired Android? No Wireless?
NIce, I've been looking for a good example of an install on this model of Nissan. Quick question, What do you do with the factory speakers when you do a swap?
