    I loved wrecker calling it a “Turbo Tank” because that’s what the toys and playsets were always called. Kind of plays into his childlike mindset. Also felt badass seeing it in action, and it was nice to see how the clones were able to defeat the stormtroopers, because they were used to the tech, versus the stormies who pretty much commandeered it. Just another way of showing the clones were better soldiers

  • @Govant
    @Govant หลายเดือนก่อน +29

    I don't mind the circular motion of story used in this season. It makes it more realistic. In real life, very rarely does point A directly lead to Point B. I don't believe they are doing it to rehash old ideas. Instead, they are showing finding Tantiss and rescuing Omega isn't just as easy as 1+1. There is realism involved.

      I like your thinking

  • @GGBlaster
    @GGBlaster หลายเดือนก่อน +156

    Personally, I’ve really liked the “rehashing” stuff the viewers already know.
    Yeah, I know what an M-count is, I know why the Empire wants Omega, I know that it’s hard to clone force sensitivity, etc.
    But the Bad Batch doesn’t know. It’d be kinda cheap for them to just find out all of that info on the sparknotes page of an Imperial terminal. Security concern aside, it just doesn’t make for quite as compelling a journey if the characters just come into it knowing everything or learning it all at once during some expository monologue.
    So yeah, I’ll watch people learn about M-Counts over and over again, because it makes more sense than everyone and their astromech memorizing the entire page on the Holonet Wiki.

    Dr Karr's glasses are red - they represent how she is seeing the empire through "rose coloured spectacles". The only time she has taken them off to see clearly is when she revealed her identity as a clone to Omega at the end of Season 2. Also, is anyone else going to mention the fact that Crosshair didn't mention Rampart until now because he didn't want to go back to Tantis for clone prisoners, but now is willing to go back for Omega??
    Edit: If Emerie is going to turn good, or help in some way, she has to ditch the glasses or lose them in some way as her connection to finally seeing things clearly.

    • @CaptainRockoBD
      @CaptainRockoBD หลายเดือนก่อน

      That’s quite the reach to say she HAS to lose the glasses lol.

    • @katv1195
      @katv1195 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Tech lost his glasses by death, Emerie will lose her rose coloured glasses by choice when she rebels.
      If Emerie joins the Bad Batch as their replacement medic and with Phee helping them and Batcher and Omega and the three young clones and maybe Echo in the group, the group will no longer be only the Bad Batch.
      So one explanation for this being the last season of the Bad Batch may not be their deaths but the evolution of their group past being a batch.

      No😢.
      The ending I would have like to see is Omega takes the blunt of a battle, with heavy injuries like losing a limb or eye or something. And, Emery is the person to cause it by choosing ambition and the empire over the clones.
      That way, Omega learns the heartbreak of loss in battle and the damage/ danger she constantly puts the crew. Emery betrayal teaches everyone might not want to be saved, and you risk losing the ones you love trying foolishly; like Tech.
      So all that give her the new perspective to disappear and survive.
      Rather than play hero, keep getting folks killed, or let the Empire win by using her to fulfill their plan.
      😊
      Now I'm bout to watch this episode and see the exact opposite unfolding. 😂

    I think another thing with Emerie's glasses is you can of course see the red hue to the edges. I think that is a "Roae tinted goggles/lenses" reference as she was seeing what the empire was doing as a positive thing, even though from an observers point of view she was clearly involved in some pretty horrific stuff like experimenting on clone prisoners, and the indentured labour of Nala Se.

    I thought this was a great episode, and the ABSOLUTELY haven’t written off Echo. The Batch has already mentioned their plan to get help from Echo and Rex to free the clones on Tantiss a couple episodes ago, and I honestly think Echo will come with the cavalry when they’re in trouble on their rescue mission to save Omega. The episode was important and moved the plot well for a 22 minute segment of the story. They needed to find the location of the planet. It was a good callback to a character important to Crosshair’s series long plot, and I’m interested in how Tantiss is found if not with coordinates.

    I like the repeated story beats within the show and from other shows/movies. Chonologically, the Bad Batch is discovering some of these things before other characters in other shows. Just like Rogue One was a rediscovery of things we knew with a twist.
    The Bad Batch is showing overt links between the prequels, all the tv shows, and the original trilogy. Some of them are more subtle - like the old items in the museum look like items in the antiques shop in "Andor".

  • @medleystudios72

    I think the vault reveal is better this way. We spend an episode devoted to learning about it, so when Omega is taken in, we immediately understand the dire situation she's being introduced to. It's not supposition, like so much other stuff that we're neither shown nor told. (Somehow...)
    It reduces the spinning-wheel speculation and drives home the seriousness of the situation.

    1) her initial escape did move the Crosshair story line forward. What he learned from her has made her a better teammate. And we see that his tremor DOES appear to be psychological from what he experienced there
    2) this was a really fun episode which was a welcome break from last week’s double episode drop, both of which were pretty heavy. The prison break sequence was really fun and I laughed aloud multiple times. In this case I was grateful for a pure fun episode

    I think it’s easier to accept midichlorians if you think of them as the equivalent of force muscles. Everyone has some, some are born with a predisposition to be stronger than others, and if you train and exercise those muscles, they get stronger. But the emperor wants a shortcut to immortality, so he’s trying to develop force/midichlorian steroids so that when he makes a new body for himself, he doesn’t have to risk being weak in the force, for any amount of time, and bonus points if the new body is stronger than the old one.

    The whole Star Wars saga is told out of order (even starting with. Episode 4), so of course we’ll see similar stories (or part of), and we’ll see characters see things we may have seen previously. Not really sure what’s wrong with that. We might know, but some of the characters don’t, so it makes sense to see them learning something that we were made aware of weeks, months or even decades ago

    Episodes like this make me both extremely anxious, frustrated and kind of excited too. Let me explain; the increasing sense of repetition, futility and never getting the full answer they (the Bad Batch) need speaks, for me, to how the BB's ability to complete missions and, ultimately, be victorious over The Empire and save Omega/the Clones/the kids/themselves is dwindling. The sense of The Empire growing in power and its dreadful presence occupying every corner of the galaxy is palpable, so making positive acts against it increasingly impossible, makes sense especially as this series has unfolded. This is the cause of the anxiety and frustration I, and quite often, the BB themselves seem to feel. My "excitement" is that it's been quite a long time since The Empire has really felt like an awesome, overwhelming and unstoppable evil in the Star Wars universe. And, the way to really drive that home would be...for the BB to fail utterly. I wonder if Feloni is about to deliver us the Star Wars equivalent of Marvel's Infinity War? Remember, we still don't know what drove Rex to abandon his cause to save Clones and, instead, (very un Rex-like) decide to hide on a planet and fish for worms for the rest of his days (until he returns in Rebels anyway). If this season ends with the deaths of not just the BB, but most of Rex's crew as well as Omega never gaining her freedom and the remainder of the Tantis clone prisoners being experimented on to begin the evolution of Death Troopers? Then DAMN. That would hit harder than (IMO) any Star Wars we've seen so far. It would be absolutely horrific. And it would reestablish The Empire as an entity so evil it makes us sick to our stomachs to even think of it. It's a terrible, heartbreaking ending yes, but maybe , as downright grim as it would be, one Star Wars needs right now?

    I’ll stand up for the kids and say that resetting story arcs is good for them. Not saying that Bad Batch is a kids’ show, but-more than Andor, say-it should be accessible to kids. I’ll accept repetitive story beats for that reason alone.

    I enjoyed this week's instalment, and whilst I can see where you're coming from.with your critiques of this season thus far, I respectfully disagree with your critiques.
    Storywise it makes sense for the Bad Batch to not know what we the audience know without jumping through numerous hoops beforehand, as it would seriously diminish the credibility of the Empire if the Bad Batch were to find out this information cheaply or to straight up be told the information from an off screen character interaction.
    I think it's commendably bold from Dave Filoni and his team to use dramatic irony as a storytelling device rather than use it for an in-universe plot twist like with Harry Potter, and whilst it's worked fairly well so far this season, there's only so much dramatic irony can be used to move a story along, so I hope that the next instalment will start work on the climax of this season and show as a whole.
    As for Omega's sacrifice to turn herself in to save her community from immense turmoil, I honestly thought that it was quite noble and didn't undermine the high stakes of last week's sad and sombre instalment.
    I'm so hyped for these next four episodes as I personally think that they'll be absolutely incredible, and make up for any critiques or nitpick I have with this season of the Bad Batch thus far.

    midi-chlorians seem like the powerhouse of the cell. haven't heard it anyone else say it but that's what I think Lucas took inspiration from, mitochondria, which are also living organisms living in each of our cells.

    Your video actually summed up really well why this was a weaker episode for me (I actually found myself doing a few other things during it) - nothing in it was bad, just narratively it wasn't as tight and felt a bit repetitive in terms of information we already know, plot beats we've already hit, etc.
    However I do love midichlorians so we differ on that. A lot of my background is in microbiology and I think the combination of science+mysticism is always really cool. But I think you hit the nail on the head in regards to the way the Empire vs the Jedi approach it.

    A lot of Star Wars stories are an homage to other stories (Hidden Fortress, Seven Samurai, Battle of Britain, Seven Samurai *again*, THX 1138, American Graffiti, etc.) This one borrows a bit from Sorcerer (1977 William Friedkin film) and a lot from Solo and that Mandalorian episode where he takes his helmet off. "Sorcerer" was the name on the truck carrying explosives on narrow mountain roads in the movie; Juggernaut is the type of vehicle the Batch drove around on narrow mountain roads, to less anxious effect.

    That's the thing. It IS a mystical field around everything and it's way to interact and ONLY COMMUNICATE its will, is through mediclorians. Mediclorians don't force push someone, they only talk. Like in real life! Some of our basic human interaction are guided by organic fonctions. Like attraction to someone else, instinct toward a danger... addiction. So this hate of mediclorian is pretty close minded, if you ask me.

    0:53 juggernaut is also the name for a high-power soldier who often strong. is heavily armored, and will carry an infantry support machine gun or massive canon (so Wrecker). So the name was also a red herring that Wrecker would be centric to the plot and possibly die…

    Fun fact: midichlorians were in the original treatment for Star Wars and George Lucas intended on including them, but instead opted to wait until the prequels released. I'm not sure if there's a concrete answer as to why he didn't include them from the outset, but they were always intended to be part of the story.

    I really like that Ryan is starting to provide mini reviews of the episodes and I completely agree. The show is good but it’s suffering from so many fetch quests when all we want is for the story to move forward. Fetch quests were one of many of the big problems of Rise of Skywalker and it’s disappointing for them to rely on them as filler once again

    I liked the episode and didn't like listening to someone whine for 4 minutes about it. If someone is watching a 10 minute breakdown of an episode, most likely they liked it. If I wanted to listen to someone bash an episode, I'd go to one of those type videos cuz there are plenty of them which admittedly I never do cuz I do not like negativity in general. Keep it focused on the breakdown, you do well in that.

    My theory to how they're going to go back to Tantis, is that hire a high class Bounty Hunter pretending to have another package for the doctor.
    Get at the meeting point and hijacke the ship with Emery on it.
    Ans thats when she'll change side!
