    Y'all one MASSIVE Easter Egg that ryan and team missed was the Chronicles of Narnia reference. We all know Dave Filoni is a C.S Lewis fan (Ahsoka show finale named "The Jedi, the Witch, and the Warlord" to parallel The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe) but he literally took a scene straight from that book and recreated it in Star Wars mode in the episode "The Way Out". A beaver-like/ furry animal alien helps wandering, in-danger people IN A SNOWY WILDERNESS. He silently beckons, then later says "follow me" as his only response to their questions. LOVE THOSE LITERATURE PARALLELS.

    Two things I noticed:
    First, the fact that the people of Corvus not knowing that the empire was defeated when the new Republic arrived reminded me of Juneteenth when the slaves in Texas didn't know that the north won the civil war and were freed, but weren't told.
    Second, I find it odd that the clones did not try to attack Barris because, "she was no longer a Jedi, but that fact did not matter for Ashoka when her clones turned on her during order 66.

    • @lewisallen2478
      @lewisallen2478 หลายเดือนก่อน +24

      I think that the Coruscant guard would’ve been specifically told to not attack Barriss. Palpatine knew he could use her for the Empire. The clones with Ahsoka, namely captain Rex and later Jesse, made a conscious decision that Ahsoka should still be executed.

    • @danielbroome5690
      @danielbroome5690 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

      Clones are sentient thinking beings. The technicality of Ahsoka not "technically" being a Jedi, but serving their purposes and with deep-rooted loyalty towards many prominent Jedi was an obvious threat and target for order 66. Something well within the decision-making purview of a squad level decision. On the other hand, Barriss was one of the known fallen Jedi Palpatine was aware of and probably made special orders not to harm her and to bring her before him.

    • @seanj3667
      @seanj3667 หลายเดือนก่อน +7

    • @jimmymcgoochie5363
      @jimmymcgoochie5363 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      If we’re going to get picky, Order 66 targeted both Ahsoka (who just said she wasn’t a Jedi to Mace Windu in front of Rex) and Maul (who never was). The inhibitor chip orders would have been designed before the events of The Phantom Menace, when Maul was still Sidious’ apprentice and Ahsoka was a random toddler, so there’s an awful lot of inconsistency there.

    • @etherico3041
      @etherico3041 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      yeah the way they decided to word that pissed me off so much because that’s exactly what Ahsoka and Rex used and it didn’t work so it ruins the ending of such a good show. Ahsoka gave up on being a Jedi just as much as Barriss had.
      It’s not something fans should have to explain away because it would’ve been so easy to say literally anything else.
      “Tell me what’s happening has there been an attack?”
      “Just be glad you’re not a Jedi anymore by tomorrow they won’t exist”
      Nicolas Anastassion really could’ve handled that better of course everyone is gonna immediately think of Ahsoka.

    I particularly like how in the old novels that Luke was always doing things he thought were in the interest of the lightside for the first 15 years of his life as a Jedi, but Yoda's warning was true that he had embraced the dark side (in the events of Dark Empire) and even prior to that when giving into his anger in places like Cloud City, Jabba's palace (force choke), and his final duel with Vader that he was still on the path to the dark side even as he was saving the galaxy in the name of the light side. This all culminating in the Hand of Thrawn books where he finally realized this after talking to Mara Jade and spending the first half of the books being more and more willing to simply do things like mind dominate enemy troops to get what he wanted and wondering if a Jedi Master were so powerful, why did Master Kenobi always come across as so seemingly weak by comparison, and it was precisely because he was in control of his emotions and felt the responsibility to not use his power to simply ease his tasks. Then after this realization, Luke finally opened himself back up to the light side and felt a confidence as a Jedi Master that he had never felt before.

    If Barriss died, they did it so strangely and anti-climactically that it would really be weird. Plus, it would be a total lack of respect for the character. Coming back after 11 years just to die...
    Plus, Lyn is currently a noname character; sorry, but 3 shorts are not enough, and we only cared about her character because of Barriss.
    In my opinion, Barriss survived.
    Yes, I know we have enough characters surviving lightsaber stabs, but in Barriss's case, it can be realistically justified:
    1. In the fifth episode, they showed her iconic ability - Force Heal.
    2. Barriss was able to dodge Lyn's attacks and got hit by a completely random chaotic blow that killed her. That sounds strange already.
    3. Barriss was focused on redeeming Lyn.
    My theory is that Barriss wanted to be stabbed or wanted to risk her own life. She knew it would redeem Lyn.
    Then Lyn tries to do something with her hands. Barriss takes her hand and places it on the wound. She also puts her own hand there.
    In my opinion, Barriss used Lyn's Force to heal herself, or Lyn was also a healer before becoming an Inquisitor, and Barriss tried to calm her. Offee naturally loses strength and consciousness, but Lyn calms down and pulls them both out of the cave.
    We as viewers can't see that stab. We don't know we can only speculate. This is very open ending (like in CW seson 5).
    In my opinion, Barriss survived. Otherwise, it would be silly because even now, if they wanted to show more of this character, she would get eternal plot armor.
    And the potential of this character is really huge.

    Another nice callback: when we're first introduced to Barriss in the clone wars, she's teamed up with Ahsoka in a mission in which it was essential to know the paths within a labyrinth of caves by heart. There was a key plot point of Barriss having memorized the maze, unlike Ahsoka. And now her showdown with the 4th sister was in a similar scenario: Barriss was the one who knew the way out of a maze of caves.
    I'm not entirely sure Barriss is dead, by the way. I think it's just vague enough so that the writers can bring her back if necessary without painting themselves into a corner. Star wars has already brought back Maul so I don't think Barriss' wound would necessarily kill her.
    The scene of Lyn carrying Barriss out of the cave and promising to heal her was also a callback to the previous episode, in which Barriss has a very similar scene with the jedi. If I'm not mistaken, we don't get to see if Barriss managed to heal that jedi in the end. Just like we don't get to see if Lyn manages to heal Barriss. (BTW the jedi's pronouns are they/them, I see a lot of people misgendering them)
    I hope the writers bring Barriss back some day. Gosh I'd love to see Barriss meeting Ahsoka again.

    in the opening, that is not a clone pilot, that is ezra's customized helmet. I also thought that the crystal the grand inquisitor threw on the ground was the crystal that was in Ahmar's lower lip. The clone troopers that are escorting Barriss and Lyn are wearing the same armour as the troopers crosshair was training in the bad batch season 1. Their visors have also a green shine. But those are my findings.

    I think it’s so weak that inquisitors don’t seem to have any kind of mental conditioning to stop them possibly ever turning back. Especially when it’s a Jedi. If someone, like Barriss, was previously a Jedi strong enough to resist the dark side then they’d be strong enough to possibly one day turn back too. Which is exactly what Barriss did. How hemlock made his CX troopers was more effective.

    9:56 Calling the style in Rebels "kiddy" is a little odd considering that is not that different from the style of the Clone Wars, that and the coment at 10:24 made me think that you guys should make a video about the evolution of the artstyle in the Star Wars animated shows.
    From the Christmas Special and Droinds show to The Tales of the Jedi/Empire, the jump from 2D Clone Wars to 3D Clone Wars, and how they evolve from being more stylized to be more close to the movies/shows.

    • @keefgtp

      Rebels art style is VERY different from Clone Wars, even the earliest Clone Wars. It's a much more simplistic design, edges and details are blurrier, colors are more pastel, bodily and facial features are more exaggerated. It looks cartoony. And the show didn't come out til 2014 - by the end of the original Clone Wars run in 2013 it had evolved into a much more mature art style with better detailing, textures, and lighting effects. For me, watching in chronological order, Rebels style was jarring and very difficult to adapt to because it felt like a huge downgrade.

    • @rubendelgado5098
      @rubendelgado5098 26 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@keefgtp Just to clarify, i just say they are "not THAT different", at least when compared with other Star Wars animated shows, Star Wars Resistance and Young Jedi Adventures had styles that are more diferent and "Kiddy" or Cartoony.
      Obviously when you put them next to each other one can see the diferences, just like if they were made to oppose each other, one is more geometrical while the other is roudend and organic, one had rough textures like if it was hand painted while the other is more smooth and colorfull, one took inspiration for its visual language the prequels and the 2D Clone Wars while the other took it from the OG trilogy and Ralph Mcquarrie's concept art, ETC.
      (Also the style of the Clone Wars evolve through its seasons, so comparing the original CW "movie" with the Tales of the Jedi/Empire, it's gonna look very different)
