The Death Star's trench was not the center ring. There were multiple trenches, with the one the Rebels used near the top of its northern hemisphere. The center was where the docking bays were.
I theorize there was a change to the script for this episode. The display on the BB's shuttle says "Shield status," but they say they're waiting for Echo to turn off proximity sensors. The actual sequence of events depicted is much more in line with the idea that they were waiting on Echo to turn off shields, rather than sensors, since they aren't successful until the very last moment as they're attaching to the hull and the ship is taking off for lightspeed, and sensors that had failed to detect a ship approaching or getting close enough to dock are basically useless. yeah, im surprised he didnt notice given how the shuttle has appeared so prominently in the bad batch, especially in the more recent episodes. even in the clone wars it was a fairly prominent ship.
That's not going to happen. They've made it clear she doesn't have an M-Count of her own, just the genetic factor that allows for replication. Unless they infuse her from an M-Count donor, she won't have Force abilities.
The other mountain was in a previous episode too. Also: Maybe stun or incapacitate when the other side is weaponless. An unarmed data clerk, workers or shipping officers aren't heavy blaster armed personnel.
The shuttle that the Batch stole (which I shall refer to as the Marauder II) to infiltrate the Imperial station to obtain the coordinates to Tantiss is a Rho-class shuttle, which resembles the Nu-class, yet it contains a dorsal fin and a much larger hull to serve as a troop, cargo, and medical transport. It's even worth mentioning that a lot of shuttle models in Star Wars are named after letters from the Greek alphabet (i.e. Lambda, Sentinel, Rho, Nu, Omicron, Theta, Eta, Zeta, etc.).
Wait. So the Star Wars universe has the Greek alphabet? And we know from the rebel ship models that they have the Latin alphabet: X wing, Y wing, A wing, etc. If Aurebesh is the galaxy's predominant writing system where did they get the Greek and Latin alphabets?
@@vertiac no clue where they got Greek and Latin/Roman alphabets, the latter of which is known as High Galactic. It’s kinda the same question you’d be asking regarding the existence of humans in the galaxy far far away. Or even redwood and pine trees on Endor.

Probably not the first time used in the show but the first time I noticed that some of the crates being loaded were the same shape as the case a lightsaber hilt comes in in Galaxy’s Edge.
With the science ship, they said they were monitoring comms, I assume that would include tracker comms, echo could have snuck on board and then activated a tracker when they landed. I think the bigger reason is they did it this way is so that Rampart is on hand for something possibly to access the vault
There´s a BIG flaw in this video, as the Death Star trench is NOT the equinoctial line. Keep in mind how big the Death Star is. Some sources say the diameter is between 140 and 160 kilometers. If the trench would be THAT visible from afar, it would probably be half a mile wide, when in "reality", it was just barely large enough to have three TIE Fighters side by side.
The center part of the Death Star isn't where the trench run happened. That is where the docking bays are located. The Trench Run occurred near the north pole of the Death Star.
A nice connection I made. The Bad Batch in this episode change their armor to all black, the commando squad known for their black armor in legends is Omega squad. Not sure if that’s intentional but it’s a couple coincidence.
The species of the baby that was kidnapped a few episodes ago, is also in the first sabacc scene on “Solo”. Also station 003 looks a lot like the covenant station “high charity” from Halo
the space station in this episode i think is supposed to be similar if not the same type as the one that was on lothal in rebels, notice that it shares the large domed shape along with the small rings.
Exactly my thoughts. The show even shows this several times. Normal shots are heard from a mile away and alert many opponents at once, while the stun shots rarely ever get noticed by people nearby.
When Rampart said "What if we're caught or killed on this little mission?", did anyone else get a Mission: Impossible vibe, or was that just me? The recorded message in Mission: Impossible always ends with, "As always, if you or any member of IM team is caught or killed, the Secretary will disavow any knowledge of your actions."
I've always noticed that the Bad Batch use stun settings when they're engaged with other clones but tend to fire lethal blasts when their enemies are anyone else like the TK troopers. Good ep SC!
I think the return to Tantis serves to not only build character for Omega, but also to free other clones. Perhaps the sacrifice, and loss, of the Bad Batch motivates the freed clones to "rebel" against the Empire. Trained soldiers make great teachers for civilians starting a rebellion.
The Batch uses stun when they're not sure if they'll encounter clones. As we saw a couple weeks ago with Wolffe's troops, not all clones were upgraded to CC. Clones were being cycled out of service but there were still some in specialty positions. They have no real problem shooting TKs and officers, but they don't want to accidentally kill 'brothers' even if they are indoctrinated.
I think the stun setting makes sense because they started using it on clones because they were being mind controlled with the chip. But still used it on regular troopers. But now that the Agent X program has revealed more in depth mind control they can’t actually be sure who is being controlled and who isn’t. They have always attempted to limit innocent casualties.
6:30 When you think about it, unlike the last time when Omega was captured and imprisoned, this time she allow them to take her. SHE’S THE ONE IN CONTROL NOW. That’s so empowering. Wow, how much she’s grown!
Probably been mentioned before, but the “trench run” on the Deathstar was NOT in the equatorial ring. The ring is far wider and deeper, which is plainly seen in the clip you show later of the Falcon entering the landing bay. It is also clear from the schematics shown to the Rebel pilots before the battle.
Omega felt so grown up this episode. She’s grown even since her first time on Tantiss, when she needed Crosshair’s help to leave. She is leading, spying, and plotting. Comparing her first time there, where she was there for months and made a doll to comfort herself, to now where she is wasting no time and letting the other kid enjoy the doll, she has become the adult and also has stayed true to her goal of freeing all of the prisoners at Tantiss. She refuses to leave people behind. It used to be unrealistic, but she is actually able to create her plan. Hopefully the force sensitive children have their moment to use the force to aid in the escape. I am so sad to realize there are only two episodes left. I thought it was at least 16 episodes. I really want a happy ending. I actually have no idea how this ends.
speaking of similarities to ashoka, omega leading a jailbreak reminded me of the time ashoka was captured and hunter for sport by the lizard guys, and ran into those younglings. always nice to see the young hero be a leader for the first time.
I think the reason they use stun blasts rather than normal bolts is because the stun rounds are significantly quieter. They still use bolts when normally fighting the TK troopers like on pabu. They really only use the stun setting now when they are trying to be stealthy
I can't help but notice that the bodies of those load lifter's look somewhat like a styled KX-series Security Droid, like K-2SO in Rogue One. The animators seen ti do this a lot when they have existing droid models, such as leftovers from the Clone Wars like the Clone Commandos, which makes me wonder if we'll either see KX Droids in the finale or somewhere in Tales of the Empire.
Great review as always, but I wanted to note one little thing that wasn't mentioned. Did you notice that the force sensitive kids are red, green and blue (RBG) and thus can represent any color? The last added child was not humanoid just to complete the supremecy of humans over all other races in the galaxy. Mildly interesting.
I think Emerie’s scientist glasses will break just before she starts helping Omega escape. Not necessarily related to anything… just as a metaphor of her not seeing the Empire through “rose colored glasses” anymore 😉
Firm believer that cx-2 is Tech. I also think Cody, with potentially a few other familiar faces, will be the new batch of CX troopers that hemlock said weren’t ready yet in a previous episode. The final episode will play out like “The Mandolorian” but instead of the finished dark troopers; it will be the new batch of cx troops being used to stop the Tantis assault.
Anyone else also thinking that Tantiss looks like High Charity from the Halo series (Place where the prophets from the Convenant are planning their Great Journey )
The Clone Commandos are just Commandos. As we saw earlier in the Season when the Empire attacked Rex and Echo's base, they still use ARC Troopers, like Wolfe, and Clone Troopers in addition to Commandos and TK troopers
I have to argue, though many of the patterns are square within Mount Tantiss, the show focuses heavenly on an overall circular design. The mountain base is circular, the holding facility for the children is circular. The camera work even makes an increased effort on multiple occasions throughout the episode to focus on the very circular nature of the Mount Tantiss base on Wayland. This contradicts the square Rebel base designs on Yavin 4.

The dolly shot of Omega in her room was like the shot in Ghost in The Shell
I love these recaps
Every week they fascinate me
Thanks Ryan! Thanks, Lee! Thanks, Jeffrey! Thanks, Sean! 🛰
Great breakdown. The shuttle brought by Echo is a Rho-class transport shuttle.
Keep up with the vids Ryan!
I think the reason they use stun blasts rather than normal bolts is because the stun rounds are significantly quieter. They still use bolts when normally fighting the TK troopers like on pabu. They really only use the stun setting now when they are trying to be stealthy
Pigs don't sweat a lot at all, but they do sweat a little lol.
Wowowowowow. A "Just Shoot Me" reference? You get me Ryan.
Pigs don't sweat. "..is that true?" Yeah I dunno..
😂
I can't help but notice that the bodies of those load lifter's look somewhat like a styled KX-series Security Droid, like K-2SO in Rogue One. The animators seen ti do this a lot when they have existing droid models, such as leftovers from the Clone Wars like the Clone Commandos, which makes me wonder if we'll either see KX Droids in the finale or somewhere in Tales of the Empire.
Thanks Ryan!
This show is so well written. Feels like live action. Actually better than most live action shows. Really well done.
That ending was nerve wracking literally heading to their deaths 😢
13:52 I think we see people use stun because it's more quieter than shooting lazers.
Cool. That's a complete 360 on red shirts or brown pants, that white armour allows them to be found or seen
Love it another fringe reference! Cortextafan kids.
I think Emerie’s scientist glasses will break just before she starts helping Omega escape. Not necessarily related to anything… just as a metaphor of her not seeing the Empire through “rose colored glasses” anymore 😉
oke what happens on 12:03 of the video. for me was it black?? for few seconds?
You can also see a few clone white clone pilots in this scene a few seconds later in the episode 13:03
Station 003 looks the same as the empirial building on lothal and also similar to the base where they stole the y-wings from in rebels
Maybe they will come across the Zillo beast that was captured in Season 2 and let it out as a diversion or something
the baby cat things species is in some of the background of the sabaak game in solo.
You missed when omega took the tool, the way emery looked back when she took tray, and walked away, I think she knew omega took it
Anyone else also thinking that Tantiss looks like High Charity from the Halo series (Place where the prophets from the Convenant are planning their Great Journey )
Wow that was quick
Station 003 reminds me of High Charity from Halo
Truly the best reviews 🎉
Stun Bolts are akin to silenced/suppressed shots from a gun. You can barely hear them. A normal blaster bolt is insanely loud in comparison.
The center trench on the Death Star is not where the trench run took place. It's actually a docking area.
Cortexaphan kids, keep it up Ryan.
The Clone Commandos are just Commandos. As we saw earlier in the Season when the Empire attacked Rex and Echo's base, they still use ARC Troopers, like Wolfe, and Clone Troopers in addition to Commandos and TK troopers
This episode showed how badass Omega is…and how much she learned from her brothers.
I love this humanization of soldiers and how it kind of undoes the bannalization of violence of the nineties.
Is the Bad Batch’s Gonk Droid dead, or did they leave him on Space Greece? We haven’t seen Gonky since the Havoc Marauder blew up.
