Poor wout, probably wins that stage without intervention by the disaster
Wout had no chance. Philipsen was even with him and pulled ahead but was not fully ahead when he moved right. So wout was not at the speed to catch the winner. Philipsen deserves the boot for not holding his line.
Never been excited for sprints as this tour. 2 records already broken. Mountain stage still great but, sprint is so exciting.

Astana were well positioned for much of the run-in, but Cavencrap made no impact in the sprint, placing 20th.
Cavendish was not so understanding (usual Petulant childish antics) during the stage when he suffered a mechanical problem, was hampered by a television motorbike and then briefly drafted behind his team car to return to the peloton. He was fined 200 Swiss francs, docked 15 UCI ranking points, 10 points for the green jersey competition and 40 seconds in the general classification

New fan here, how is Pogacar first in the overall standings when he’s only won one stage ?
It's accumulated seconds ahead overall. Pog won his stage by quite a long way, so has gained more seconds than he has lost.
Cumulative time.
It's not the number of wins stage, it's the overall Time. The sprinters usually lose a lot of Time in the climbing stages

Pogacar has the fastest time of all the stages that have been completed so far because he is the best overall rider. We will definitely see tomorrow because it is the race of truth. Individual TT. Remco is possibly the favourite, however Pog has the power to beat him if it's hilly.

Exciting sprint with Cav nowhere. Would be nice to see him validate that win yesterday. It looked a bit of the kind we see in crit races.

Now that’s a real sprint unlike yesterday free given win. Yesterday winner wasn’t in the pic shows you it was given. Give him 2 more days before he drops out.
Cycling is not what is used to be, it is now just a show off, wayyyy to long stages which are now touring more than a race except for the last 40 km, passing bottles and eating and talking so boring to watch

The TdF used to be even longer than it is now. It was around 4000Km a few decades ago and now sits around 3500Km.
The stages in the TDF have not become longer over time. Stages with sprint finishes are always more boring than mountain stages. That has always been the case.
