This is one of the few English Dubs of an anime that I have absolutely no complaints about, even years later after all of the other shows that I have seen up to this point.
@@xaagripha7326 Well I was wasn't speaking in terms of what was being said but instead the quality of the voice actors. A great deal of English dubs suffer from lack of intensity in layman's term. Not just intensity but overall emotional feel. In comparison to most Japanese dubs, the English dubs are rarely ever believable and thus the story suffers due to a lack of character authenticity. There are plenty of great English Dubs, even some newer ones that I enjoy, but more often than not the original dub is superior to other dubs. A lot of that just has to do with how much respect the Japanese have for any career no matter how small or unimportant it may seem. They all have importance and are treated as such thus something that westerners may see as easy or useless may become a master craft with many unique steps and processes to insure maximum results.
@G Somewhat. Definitely not proficient…yet, but when it comes to some of the situations and some of the phrasing and especially some of the comedic things, I tend not to miss too much. Sometimes a double take is needed though.
The saix pilots operate as a team in formation, to improve speed, for defensive and offensive purposes, and must be lined up with there fixed guns, however these tactics have been recorded in previous matches, the data need only be input into fury, the learning computer will give a solution on the HUD for the situation. Vaeger is an outstanding pilot, join that with the learning computer and of course its going to be hard to beat
Anime-wise, not really, considering Irvine (Zoids: Guardian Force) looks to be a far better pilot than these Lightning Saix pilots. Battle Story-wise, the Lightning Saix was evolved from the Helcat, and was never meant to counter anything.

The Blade Liger was often used as an Assassin Zoid by the Republic, to run in and take out high value targets, and the Empire's answer to this was to create the highly agile Lightning Siax, so it could intercept the Blade Liger before it got to the target. So Van's Blade Liger and Irvine's Lightning Siax combo was likely a nod to this, as was Van's Blade Liger and Raven's Geno-Breaker against Hiltz's Death Stinger, though in the battle story, the pilots of the Blade Liger, GenoBreaker, and Death Stinger were all controlled by anonymous pilots, all of which lost their lives in the battle.
I forgot about zoids! 26 and wish Id stuck with this. Anyone in their teens reading this stick with the things that bring you even a little bit of balance to this crazy world. I Have 2 kids and still collect yugioh cards just to look at them! These were the days guys. When Toonami was the SHIT!
Watching it again 90% of the guys who lost to vega charged at him straight on like tackling was the best option. Especially Jack and jamie, both them have fragile zoids built for speed. But oh well it was still enjoyable to watch.
It really didn't matter if you charged at him or used ranged attacks He was still going to fuck you up lol The berserk fury was the ultimate defense and offense there was no other way other than learning it bare bones and all That's the only way bit was able to beat him in the end. Only way to do that is to get beaten and survive then come back.

@@ameer781 Sure, it was going to win no matter what because plot, but it feels really unsatisfying when the big antagonist is just better than everyone else and they're not even employing any real strategy to get past obvious problems. Like this thing should have been attacking the ground to get dust clouds going and showing off its speed and stuff while the other characters try to take him out from a safe distance. Villains always feel way more effective when the people they stomp are actually trying to fight smart and the antagonist still comes out on top in a way that makes logical sense.
If anyone else other than just me has looked into the Zoids Battle Story, you would laugh at these interactions. The Liger Zero and Berserk Fury were both developed together by the Empire. The Fury was intended to be the real power, while the Liger was always intended as nothing more than an impressive escort Zoid. The Republic managed to infiltrate the development facility and stole the research, data and prototypes for the Liger Zero, but not the Fury. The Empire tightened security, delaying the deployment of the Fury significantly while the Republic ran with the Liger data and mass produced what quickly became their best Zoid. They developed three new armors for the Zoid, seeing it as a new multi role and main combat Zoid, while the Empire rebuilt their lost data and produced their own Liger Zeroes in smaller numbers and only ever developed one alternate armor for it. The Republic was ripping apart everything the Empire could field with their own Liger Zero design, until the Berserk Fury finally deployed. The Liger Zeroes were annihilated. The Republic redeployed the old Gun Blaster Zoids in order to have enough direct firepower to penetrate the shield on the Berserk Fury and when that happened, the Empire rearmed their Berserk Furies with the Sturm Tyrann CAS, and the only thing that saved the Republic from being completely conquered was that the leader of the Berserk Fury forces pulled a coup and took over the Empire himself, turning on the previous government and destroying most of their Zoids, which gave the Republic some time to recover.
Probably 20 years since I’ve seen this, 10 years since I’ve last held a zoid, few years since I’ve seen any modern zoid media, and I still remember this anime so well.
Holy crap I absolutely and totally forgot about this! Seeing the mechs flooded memories back into my head. Oh man I hope this series is doing well atleast in Japan. This is so cool
I just realized in rewatching this that the guy that voices Inuyasha (Richard Cox I believe) voices Bit. It's amazing how my memory forgot or didn't realize it before. Also the female (didn't catch her name >< think Lisa? ) voice sounds like Mimiru from .Hack//Sign. Ah wonderful childhood memories ^^.
I'm a Japanese fan of Zoids franchaise but I much prefer the English dub. It sounds way more natural especially in case of Bega. (In the Japanese original voice he sounded as if he was like a 5 year old and I detested it.) And there is no mismatch with other character's voices.
Its the Mister Referee effect, same as Medabots. Its a bit of simple and predictable comedy that you can ignore easily, but it grounds otherwise high-tense moments.
In theory, all four Zoids had the advantage against a stripped down Berserk Fuhrer, even against the Battle Story timeline version. But the moment Jack and the Tasker Sisters got cocky and engaged in close combat, which the Berserk Fuhrer not only excels, but even specializes in, instead of running circles around it, which the Lightning Saix specialized in, they had lost the fight.
8:12 Ngl, this series had some of the most dynamic and action-packed scenes. Yeah, the characters and voices are iffy, but scenes like this rarely ever appear in modern mecha, or even your usual action show. That blast just had so much force and OOMPH that a lot of action movies and whatnot are lacking, imo.
Even today, Zoids fascinates me. This was made how many years ago? And they were able to blend 2D and 3D smoothly? Yet, 90% of anime today, they all try to pack in 3D animation wherever they can, and you can tell, it always looks terrible.
you know its funny I remember hating when they would do this in Transformers Energon or even the new Eva movies, but Zoids? it looked perfect and the action was REALLY good too.
Artists don't really create art anymore (IMO). Once technology allowed people to do high end quality stuff easily, people stopped putting their own personal spin on things for the sake of creativity. Now the writers are where all the creativity is expected to come from (and with consumers understanding story structures and demanding they hit every beat, even writers have at least 1 hand tied at all times) while animation and visual art styles become cookie cutter. Of course there are some exceptions (and they're awesome), but this feels like what happened to the general industry itself.

But the real element thats missing is rebellion and the criminal mind set of having a freemind. Kids today have no idea how legendary this show and Toonami in general was. The 1990s through 2005 were the best years for anime, cartoons, and video games.
The Fury's shield is something else, it tanked a hit from 3 Geno Saurer's charged partical cannons without a scratch, the blade Liger only withstood it cause of it's blades, but this things shield blocked it like it was nothing, then one shot from it's cannon shut down all 3 without even directly hitting them.
This Zoid is awesome in the anime, but in the Zoids Legacy game on GBA (I play it on a GBA emulator app on my cellphone, it was heavily nerfed! Its Charged Particle Beam Cannon is a Diffused Type, and in fact weaker than the Focused Type used on Geno Breaker series Zoids (i.e., Geno Breaker, Geno Scissors, and Geno Trooper).
They really couldn't decide what to do with those claws. The first time it uses its shield it does so like the genobreaker, but then it has them spread against the panzer. When it fires against the genosaurers it has the claws closed but against the satellite they're open again
I had a berserker fury toy when I was little. I had no idea it was a powerful zoid. I always thought it was just some little weak one. I didn't watch the show that much as a kid. But I knew of it and I knew zoids were cool
He had no weapons, so they attacked with no weapons too. Someone makes a challenge like that you're supposed to face them under similar conditions to prove who's the best. It's called refusing a handicap.

They could have ganged up and focused fire on Fury and been done with it, but that would've been too easy and killed Vega's aura of invincibility.

Berserk Führer/Fury’s CPC has a short charge time compared to those of the Geno Saurers/Breaker… While I prefer those of the Gairyuki Fury Shin- Ray Absorption CPC I did heard this CPC Firing Sound elsewhere… Particularly from High Energy Beam Weapons from Gundam SEED/Seed Destiny and Gundam AGE as well…

This Zoid is awesome in the anime, but in the Zoids Legacy game on GBA (I play it on a GBA emulator app on my cellphone, it was heavily nerfed! Its Charged Particle Beam Cannon is a Diffused Type, and in fact weaker than the Focused Type used on Geno Breaker series Zoids (i.e., Geno Breaker, Geno Scissors, and Geno Trooper).
I like the fact that the original name for it is the Berserk Führer. It's both weird and scary if I try to imagine it

They really couldn't decide what to do with those claws. The first time it uses its shield it does so like the genobreaker, but then it has them spread against the panzer. When it fires against the genosaurers it has the claws closed but against the satellite they're open again
I had a berserker fury toy when I was little. I had no idea it was a powerful zoid. I always thought it was just some little weak one. I didn't watch the show that much as a kid. But I knew of it and I knew zoids were cool

He had no weapons, so they attacked with no weapons too. Someone makes a challenge like that you're supposed to face them under similar conditions to prove who's the best. It's called refusing a handicap.
@@Asher_Tye That's called being stupid and letting your pride get in the way of logic. Right after they said they wouldn't partake in an unsanctioned battle too. They could have ganged up and focused fire on Fury and been done with it, but that would've been too easy and killed Vega's aura of invincibility.

Berserk Führer/Fury’s CPC has a short charge time compared to those of the Geno Saurers/Breaker…
While I prefer those of the Gairyuki Fury Shin- Ray Absorption CPC
