A great game to be sure, though it's nearly impossible to play on its original hardware. Zoids Vs III on the other hand plays like a dream. Shame it was never brought over to the west
Ever since I was a kid, I've wanted a Zoids game that plays like Armored Core. One where you need to keep in mind weight, heat and joint loading when customising your Zoid and also need to watch out for things like terrain conditions and damage types. New Century Zero especially pushed that logistics and mechanics side of things.
Agreed, ever since I played AC that´s what I looked for. The GBA ones kind of cover the customization and stats part of It but the gameplay isn´t close to AC at all.
@@MalditoSeasEstadoDelsrael Is it finally finished? Last I checked it was only partly done. And if it is finished, where can I find it? I might not have seen the full version before.
The Chaotic Century era is one good opportunity to make an RTS type or maybe a remastered Zoids VS with a story centered around a Republic/Imperial Zoid pilot.
It's funny seeing so many people loving legends cause I remember that was one of my fav games as a kid and my mom ended up returning it to the store for some reason
I wouldn't mind seeing a Zoids game done in the same style as the Gundam Breaker games along with a new Zoids anime done in the same style as Gundam Build Fighters basically have it set on basically Modern day Earth but have it to where VR tech has advanced enough to where you put the actual real-life Zoids models on special platforms and be able to actually pilot/ride them in a VR Arena.
From what I read, that sounds a bit like the plot of one of the Japan exclusive zoids games. I think it was "Zoids Neo" or something like that for the Xbox 360. Not that lousy one we got for the 360 in the west.
They really should just bring back the battle legends style. Alot of people enjoyed it and would love a reboot or 4th edition for it. Variety in zoids, variety in terrain, team play, weapons, it was something else. It was something memorable. It felt more like zoids than any other zoids game.
Zoids Legacy/Zoids saga was some of my favorite games. Battle Legends too. I would love to play an updated version with all the zoids and being able to customizing them with the weapons and parts and just being able to do battles like in the anime (new chaotic century, since I'd like it to be more of a sport than a war thing).
its a shame these are all either turn based strategy or fighting games. none of them have realized the potential awseomeness of dropping zoids into a large battlefield and having them battle at high speed over long distances
I really enjoyed it. Got the "secret ending", but damn was that game soo unrewarded. It was Hella limited on the zoids and story was super short. But I loved the visuals and difficulty
i had no idea Zoids was around since the 80s. I only learned of it from Choatic Century and New Century animes. Battle Legends was an interesting game but difficult.
Was this video made before Zoids infinity blast on the Switch, the sequel to king of blast? That game is awesome, adds more zoids even classic Zoids to the roster, has full costumization color and everything, has a simple combat system but has some depth to it. I loved it, still playing it.
Oh my god, so many games that didn't get over to the US when Zoids was at its prime. The only one I remember ever getting (and still have lol!) is Zoids Legacy for the GBA. Literally sat down outside of Gamestop after buying it and started playing in the mall. Now we have... this abomination of a reboot. I sincerely wish to support the franchise and help bring it back to its former glory, but that *childish* garbage just isn't the way. Not when the whole original premise of the damn franchise started on the fact Zoids were machines of WAR. Not this weird crap they're giving us now.
I would love to see a 1st person open world Zoids for the next Gen systems ide have zero issues pay $100 for that and a remastered version of 2005's STAR WARS Battlefront ll ide definitely pay $100 for that too.
Sadly, the reason was timing. by the time Legacy came out, Zoids popularity in the west was on the decline. They didn't even finish broadcasting the 3rd Zoids anime series "Zoids fuzors" in the west. Though it was fully dubbed and released. So they didn't want to risk losing the money.

Sadly, while it looked interesting, the game was actually not great. you could only use 3 different kinds of zoids (Command Wolves, Shield Ligers, and Dibisons,) the customization was very limited, and for some reason they redesigned all the zoids to look even less animal like and even more blocky robotic.
Would love a zoids battle legends style with up to day graphs and customization, some PVE free roam world on a barren wasteland to gather zi data and parts from wild zoids and some PVP colosseum like in the anime

One would think that the Zoids universe would've been a nice fit for numerous real-time strategy games (like Supreme Commander, StarCraft, or even MechCommander), turn-based tactical strategy games (like XCom, Mario and Rabbids, BattleTech (2017), or Valkyria Chronicles), or even online vehicular combat games (like MechWarrior Online, World of Tanks, or War Thunder), but apparently not? The only game that significantly piques my attention is apparently Zoids Assault/Alternative, which looks to be a turn-based tactical strategy game (like XCom).
It's such a shame this franchise is always given to people who don't know or care about it, possibly the worst handled franchise in history. There's so much potential from the earlier shows and games, and all of it was thrown away and the English audience was abandoned.
Zoids has always been the zanier, more kid friendly cousin to gundam...but it still had its _EXTREMELY_ dark moments. Implied and stated genocide, banditry, war, all the good stuff for building a world. There's nothing saying they couldn't have games set around or even during the various anime. Chaotic Century lends itself to war and strategy games. New Century and Fuzors both for arena fighters and zoid customization games (seeing people tune some designs would very interesting). Not a fan of Wild, but that lends itself to something like Monster Hunter Stories if they really wanted to go at it.
