WHY TF isn't Zoids on any streaming service or a complete dvd/bluray/digital purchase?? This was easily one of my favorite shows back in the day! (Chaotic Century)
It was released on DVD a while back, so if your lucky, you might be able to find a complete set. Same with New Century Zero (Zoids series with Bit Cloud and the Liger Zero).
I have DVDs of Chaotic Century from Episodes 1-6 I think? Also Fuzors but 1-4 only. It was kind of hard to collect back in the day since I was very young then.
I remember the toonami promo for the final 4 when this aired on Saturday in 2003 I woke up early for this that morning had a tape in the vcr miss those days
I loved this series. The first destruction of the Deathsaurer had the best line though. As it was overloading the guy controlling it is left dumbfounded and says, "How is this possible? I had all the power in the world *and it still wasn't enough!"* That line gave me chills. And Chaotic Century was so much better then Zero. Zero was just the same episode with a different team. They worry how to win the next battle, try and strategize, usually yelling at Cloud. The other team was ready for their strategy, drama, Cloud changes to Liger Zero Yeager and wins them the battle. Rinse and repeat at infinitum. This show had characters I could get behind and I enjoyed watching. It actually developed rather then do the same thing over and over.
I’m gonna start New Century soon, but the original CC/GF is just soooo good. I rewatched it recently and it still blows my mind how amazing it is. The animation. The voice acting! The plot! The character growth!! It’s all so perfect. This show is so underrated.
@@Catenfur, agreed. The thing that I enjoyed about Chaotic Century was the music that helped to sell the air of mystery. It was my first mystery anime, my first military anime, and my first mech anime. The undertones that surrounded Fiona's discovery of her past and her mysterious nature always gave me chills as a kid.
Its funny, coming back to this scene as an adult, its super easy to tear this scene a new a-hole from a science and physics perspective, but hot damn is it fire. What I still wonder to this day though is, did the Geno Breaker die here? From the looks of things, Shadow "overworked" the Geno Breaker's output to break through the energy shield, resulting in the Breaker being fully drained afterwards hence why it fell over off the building. So did it die, or is it just temporarily disabled? Then again, unless it recovered enough to move within a couple minutes, it will be buried as the city submerges(?) again. Same question more or less but with the Ultrasaurus. It took a blast from the charged particle beam to the chest plate and to the left leg. As long as the fires were put out, I see no reason for the Zoid to be "dead" now. But I'm going to assume they simply abandoned it as that damaged leg means it cannot move now. And then by the time we see it again in New Century Zero, its Zoid Core has likely been dead now for many years. Sad, because i'm sure this one is larger than the mass produced Battle Commission ones.
Here's my question did they build that thing from scratch or was it found like was it a wild zoid ? Also did the organoids from this series bond with zoids to become the ultimate x's in new century zero ?
@@jevonjoyeau7110 I can't say about the Zero X's & Organoids but with the Ultrasaurus its stated that, they found it and rebuilt/restored it, remember that the people we see the story from are not the original creators of the Zoids, they just so happen to live on the planet and the Zoids were built by another race of humans but they were almost wiped out by the Deathsaurer, somehow they managed to stop the monster they created until centuries later, a madman revives it, but then a young boy who not really allined with either side puts it down! Thou somehow its core surives and fuses with the madman who revived it in the first place, but then another madman who comes from the anicent race goes about causing destruction and terror and evenly he fuses with the monster and its core and then we get the final defeat for them. With the Zero X's, I got two theories, one is that the anicents created them as prototypes for something, the other is, that the miltray we see in CC creates them in an attempt to recreate the Organoids but the anime never explains their origins in full thus leaving it to your imagination to fill in the blanks!
while not in this video, the closing scenes of the episode shows the Geno Breaker standing tall without support. I suspect that at some point after the battle Shadow was able to restore the Geno Breaker much like the Blade Liger was restored in Van's fight vs. Raven in Chaotic Century.
The Ultrasaurus died shortly afterwards unfortunately. They had to use the last of it's energy to fire the gravity cannon one last time. In the anime Zoids New Century the finish line for the tournament is on a dead gigantic ultrasaurus in the desert which also carries a gravity cannon in the same posture it had after firing its last shot.
When I saw this episode and I saw what they were on planning on doing I was surprised the Ultrasaurus could still move with all that damage from the DeathSaurer's Charged Partical Beam especially that huge hole in it's main hangar bay area.

I am going to be honest. I miss the old zids. Their designs were simple, elegant, and put the zoid itself as the centerpiece. Now the designs incorporate weapons that are just as big if not larger than the zoid itself. Too many Greblies, not enough beasties.
Also, the character design was perfect. Seldom anything over the top, but also distinct enough to make them all memorable: Van's ponytail and undercut hairstyle, Irvine's camera patch, Moonbay's hairstyle, Herman's flattop, and Fiona's wedge-style. Zoids Wild is hot steaming garbage with a ridiculous character design for the protagonist that makes it clear that he's the center of attention. Van and Bit didn't have that. Bit looked like any otherwise normal guy in New Century Zero with blond, slightly spiky hair, and green eyes. Van's look was distinct, but not flashy. Any of the other characters in New Century Zero or Chaotic Century could be the protagonist based on their character designs. They weren't designed so overtly to be the hero in their respective stories.
Man, it really is amazing to see how much anime character designs have changed over the years. You know, before it went super mainstream and obsessive with moe
It's well equiped with armored and weapon the most devastating one it can shoot charged particle cannon easily not like the geno line who need to hold some small amount of time to fire it at will and the death saurer charged particle cannon is more powerful than the geno line, and you see what the geno breaker charged particle cannon can do to the republic military base
If memory serves me right, the Death Saurer was the Zenebas Empire's (bad guys) answer to the Republic (good guys) Ultrasaurus. Then the Republic answered with the Madthunders, then to counter the Madthunders, the Guylos Empire (new bad guys) created the Gilvader. So short answer: it was created for war. And war, war never changes.
@@h1murashi That was true in the original battle story. In CC, I believe it was the same reason, but it was with Ancient Zoidians; one faction finally made the Deathsaurer to beat the other factions, but it went wild and nearly wiped out the whole civilization as a whole. They thought about using the Zoid Eve to kill it, but knowing it would kill all other Zoids on the planet made them refuse to do it. So, they (the AZ survivors) created two Sea Scorpion Zoids to contain the Deathsaurer and seal it away, then they sealed the Deathsaurer near the Zoid Eve, and separated across Zi, leaving AZ’s and Organoids in capsules for whatever reasons (probably to see if future generations would screw up like them). Fast forward to Chaotic Century.

Ha, double meaning!
Nostalgia nice ;D
I am going to be honest. I miss the old zids. Their designs were simple, elegant, and put the zoid itself as the centerpiece. Now the designs incorporate weapons that are just as big if not larger than the zoid itself. Too many Greblies, not enough beasties.
Chaotic Century/Guardian Force and New Century/Zero were awesome
@@jakealter5504 I liked Genesis too
Also, the character design was perfect.
No lie, when I heard what Van wanted to do I straight up spit my soda all over the coffee table.
My Mom was PISSED!!!
Imagine the G-Forces that’s being put on Van’s Body as he’s being fired out of the Gravity Cannon.
Man, it really is amazing to see how much anime character designs have changed over the years. You know, before it went super mainstream and obsessive with moe
DoomSlayer nods in approval.

_"So how does it feel? To spend all that time, all that effort, and to see it fail so spectacularly?"_
This is why Zoids Wild is awful. It's all just games and silly Pokémon evil teams. This right here is real shit.
And the garbage protagonist's design.
An underated anime show
Still the best zoids series
this is so badass
Any one else ever notice how the Ultrasaurus might be the same as the one from zero century where Liger beats the Berserk Fury?
It is the same one
Yea?
i miss how zoids used to be
If anyone is curious, the Ultrasaurus goes on to be the final battlefield between Liger Zero and Berserk Fuhrer.
ima firin mah lazer (Liger) xD
And so ends the great Era and the Massive GF base left near Zoid EVE as the new Era uses as the goal for Class S in Zoid Battles Ironic hun?
Fantastic voice acting
Hey Zeke! ROAR!!!

My childhood
Bye hiltz and no screaming even if you are about to die.
Oh, don’t mind me running back to you as 9/11 on steroids happens behind me.
This is epic. Until now I still don't understand why they made the deathsaurer for destruction. Where is the sense of it.
If memory serves right the (True) Deathsaurer has a magnifying lens platform for its main weapon to fire at to scatter its energy beams.
@@RyunosukeHachi I forgot battle story and the anime are different. Haha. Thanks for the clear up!
Would have been sick thought if we saw Van with Liger Zero: Caesar the King.
Blue Tigerzord vs Kiryu!
It really is funny if you think about it, the only reason Hiltz lost is because he started up the Death Saurer; if he stayed with the Death Stinger he would have won
Is that Shinn Asuka?! Don’t lie to me now Shinn.
2023 here❤
